Your comment reminded me of the time I volunteered my husband and my friend to help watch the kids at my brother's wedding. A couple of hours later, and 15 kids later, I find out that he is terrified of children but didn't want to be impolite. We are still are friends to this day, because he is thankfully a very forgiving soul. 🤪😁

(Also seeing Ned lose against Eugene's knowledge from his *actually Italian speaking* boyfriend was very satisfying)
Beer (or ale, really) was drunk by adults AND children for basically every meal because, like Kwesi mentioned it wasn’t always safe to drink water. This was common in medieval times. They had different percentages but ale was a huge part of their calorie intake! They even made it thick like porridge sometimes.

Using coffee grounds as a skin scrub is ALSO a bad idea because coffee grounds are so abrasive that they can leave micro tears on your skin and cause a lot of damage. :\
I feel like the gardening answer was disingenuous. Anyone could tell you DIRECTLY putting your coffee grounds in the garden is bad. That's why you COMPOST them first. So they're STILL good in the garden. (Anyone who knows better, feel free to correct me.)

The stunted plant growth from direct application is from the caffeine (which is still present in the coffee grounds) that "poisons" the soil so that other plants nearby struggle (a competitive edge for coffee plants growing in nature). Adding coffee grounds to compost is bad because (1) as coffee grounds break down, they release organic compounds and chemicals that kill earthworms, and (2) coffee has antibacterial properties that kill off the helpful microbes of your compost.

Okay guys, despite the 'correct' answer in this, PLEASE don't use coffee as a skin scrub. It's actually very harsh on your skin and the beads are not circular and can act more as shards. They can be sharp and cause microtears in the surface of your skin. It's better to use a chemical exfoliant but if you insist on using a physical exfoliant, use a sugar scrub. The beads are all pretty uniform in size and shape and it will start to dissolve slowly with water so it won't be nearly as harmful to your skin as other scrubs on the market. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
