the cpm skin I want is in .cpmmodel format, and blockbench doesn't let me convert the file into a .cpmproject, becuase when I am in the minecraft menu the editor doesn't detect the .cpmmodel files, only .cpmproject ones, how do I convert it please?

hey man! just wanna say this video and your help in the comments has been so helpful, ive been using blockbench a ton and have made loads of models since then! (most of them half finished of course) which leads me into my question, ive ran into a problem when adding pixels to arms and legs, because they swing around and move quite a bit the things i add onto them dont really look right, like they dont follow the animation properly. im wondering if youve run into this problem and maybe have a solution? sorry for always coming hear to ask questions its just you seem pretty knowledgeable and i really dont wanna go ask reddit lmao. cant wait for the next blockbench video!!
@@GhostiCereal_ You may want to make sure the cubes you place are in the specific folder for each limb. So, if the cube is going to be attached to the left leg, make sure it’s in the left leg folder. Other than that, maybe check to make sure your cube’s pivot points are correct? The pivot works like a joint, it’s where everything will rotate from. Sometimes I forgot to move my pivots before I rotate, and it feels weird. Hope this helps, but let me know if you still have issues!

I was struggling with the 2nd layer stuff but i figure it out (sort of). you can't have everything grouped first off, it NEEDS to be seperate (right leg, left leg, body, etc. they cannot be sub-groups within a larger group). you just need to click right arm, go to the add 2nd layer, and then you click the second thing of the same name (like how you can see two right_arm files) and drag your texture to the new one! idk if that makes much sense, i'm not great with explanations. also: with the version i have installed i had to move the arm textures due to having a slim model, unsure if it'll work ok later on but idk if the new versions automatically adjust it for slim models

i followed the complex model setup for the skin, when making the file bigger in medibang and then changing everything to per-face UV, but its still messed up. what do i do?
Be sure that in the top right corner that displays the UV that the resolution matches the image resolution. It'll likely default to 64x64, but if you adjust the skin image to 128x64, you need to make sure you change it in Blockbench too.
I know you said you're working on a followup video, but I have a question incase you're still answering comments I'm planning on making a "merman" style change for my player model, I'm playing as an aquatic race that cannot breathe air, and I wanted to change my legs to be one big fish tail. My issue is how would I go about entirely replacing the legs? And also, how would leggings/boots render? I plan on making them un-equippable anyways, but if they were equippable, how could I hide them? Or possible render armor over the tail somehow? Thanks in advanced, mainly just wondering how to replace the legs.
Funnily enough, I have a commission currently for making a mermaid toggle for CPM. I’m still working out how to make it work, but will absolutely make some sort of video once I figure it out. With the armor, you’d have to reposition the actual armor layers. In the Blockbench top bar, there’s the CPK section. You can add the armor layer there. You could also move the armor’s typical UVs to an unused section, so that section of the armor doesn’t render.

hi! great tutorial this is super helpful! although im a bit stuck with the animating part, when you start lining up the points at roughly 13:00 your points move on their own, but when i try to change things they all move together? is there any way to stop this? thanks!
Yes, you may have not adjusted the pivot points of each subfolder. They auto start at the original folder’s pivot point, and need to be moved. If you’ve already modeled, make sure when you select the folder, you aren’t selecting anything inside it. Just click the folder twice and you should be good. Let me know if you still run into issues like this afterwards!
@@nullifi3d_ hi im back again, so im properly animating now and im a bit stuck, the tail im doing has 5 joints and moves quite alot, probably not very smart ngl, but for some reason the fourth joint kinda wobbles? it like rotates wrong and isnt as smooth as the others, i dont know how to explain it sorry. ive tried adding more animation points to fix it but it doesnt help. sorry if this is too vague i kinda wish i could show a video or smth

Do you think it would be possible to create different "forms" that change depending on your origin? (as a Shifter, that can transform into feline, avian, enderian, etc..)
If there's an already coded origin, I think it'd be able to be done. There's a gestures menu built into the mod, and you can set certain model parts to be visable with custom gestures. I'll look into it more when I make a follow up to this video, cause I don't know enough about CPM's gestures menu.
I do not have the option for type of animation such as swimming etc and am unsure on what to do. I am not using a playermodel but used the wolf as a base so it is a multilegged creature.
Make sure you converted the model to a CPM project on Blockbench. If the animations don’t show up then, save the project and restart the app. Make sure your internet connection is stable too, as sometimes Blockbench won’t register the plugin without it.
I already have the model/texture/animations but my issue is I cannot get it into Minecraft bedrock no matter how much I try, (I’m trying to import it as just a resource pack obviously since it’s just changing the ender dragon)
You can make those sorts of models in Blockbench and import them with either a resource pack for Optifine. I can possibly make a tutorial on how to make and set up that sort of thing if it’s helpful!

I’m not sure, but I’ll look into it! If it’s possible, it’s likely something you’d have to do with an external mod like the Gestures mod, and link animations in the Blockbench model.
@@DominicStalinetto From my current knowledge, no. You need to make the model with the skin in CPM/Blockbench. There isn’t any super easy way to transfer a model onto a different skin besides remaking the texture image that was made.
quick question i want to make a merling for my origins smp and i want to ask if for animations like walking, running swimming- in the video i saw that you only animated the addons and i wanted to see if it's possible for me to make the walking, running, swimming etc completely custom? :0 as in changing the player models animations, too?
The CPM mod in game has a feature to remove base animations such as walking for legs. I’m unsure if Blockbench has that ability. But if you export the CPM in BB then bring it to MC, you might be able to do the animations there. @@nullifi3d_ hey, me again! hope this isn't annoying, but seeing as you've already made a phantom model and i haven't found anything about phantoms and origins in the discord server- is there a way to set some of your addons to have full opacity? i want to hide a ribcage inside of a phantom origin's torso, but i have no clue how to set the opacity of those things or if it's even possible,, any help is appreciated!!
@@m-sh1111 I’m not sure if it can be something will full opacity, but if you model the rib cage, hide it in the chest of the player model, then set all the bone pieces to glow, they’ll stick out like crazy with the Phantom’s opacity. Since the Phantom’s opacity is very light, Glowing Eye layers aren’t effected by it, and show in full opacity.
@@nullifi3d_ thank you so much! i tried doing the glowing eyes trick, but it sadly didn't work! though, I did duplicate the ribcage several times over and the opacity stacks, so i think that's a solid(pun intended) way to raise the opacity! :D
at "Complex Model Show Off" how do you export it into a mc multiplayer server? as it consists of more than one animation, is it still exported the same way or does it have to be a different way?
Still exported the same way! The data for the CPM model is linked to your base skin if you export it the way I showed in the video. This way, all players with the CPM mod can see the model without needing to have access to some unique database.

@@ImIndeedCappy I had a REALLY hard time figuring out what this meant but I got it! So, for the ones that are slow like me, do this: Load your skin, click CPM, add 2nd layer, click the layer that's been added THEN literally drag and drop the skin into the little window onto the ghosted area. I hope that makes it clear for people who are slow like me or are new to this sort of thing :)
Yes and no. Since the model connects to your skin file, it is only visable to those with the mod. However, if they have the mod, they can see, and don't need access to the paste cite for the model.
Currently without looking at your project, I have no idea. Some thoughts are possibly forgetting keyframes, or not properly setting each animation type (either stuff like global or walking, or setting it to loop)
@@nullifi3d_ well, uh, animation like walking, running, sneak walking, swimming, in water in cpm just combining cpm default animation and blockbench animation and when I play these animations in mode it's looks kinda messy.. But in blockbench everything fine
@@itzclearzy in all seriousness, that would require a full resource pack, with optifine CIT coding. i recommend looking into that sort of thing for that
No, it’s a plugin for Blockbench. CPM itself is a mod. There is a server side plugin however that allows you to change your model while on the server, but it still requires the mod to be installed first.

Yes, this plug in has never done anything to my computer that has harmed it. It has only allowed me to export and import CPM files in blockbench

Still exported the same way! The data for the CPM model is linked to your base skin if you export it the way I showed in the video. This way, all players with the CPM mod can see the model without needing to have access to some unique database.
the second layer texture isn't working
(copying from another comment) For the people who are having problems with the second layer, in Blockbench, click on any second layer, in the right corner, where is the second part (for example: Hat, Jacket, Left Sleeve etc) and drag the .png in the textures on the left side to "UV" section, right above the textures
@@ImIndeedCappy I had a REALLY hard time figuring out what this meant but I got it! So, for the ones that are slow like me, do this: Load your skin, click CPM, add 2nd layer, click the layer that's been added THEN literally drag and drop the skin into the little window onto the ghosted area.
I hope that makes it clear for people who are slow like me or are new to this sort of thing :)

Yes and no. Since the model connects to your skin file, it is only visable to those with the mod. However, if they have the mod, they can see, and don't need access to the paste cite for the model.

So, what i do when i load my model with animation (animation maide in blockbench) in Minecraft but animation is broken
Currently without looking at your project, I have no idea. Some thoughts are possibly forgetting keyframes, or not properly setting each animation type (either stuff like global or walking, or setting it to loop)
@@nullifi3d_ well, uh, animation like walking, running, sneak walking, swimming, in water in cpm just combining cpm default animation and blockbench animation and when I play these animations in mode it's looks kinda messy..
But in blockbench everything fine

No, it’s a plugin for Blockbench. CPM itself is a mod. There is a server side plugin however that allows you to change your model while on the server, but it still requires the mod to be installed first.

If you have a CPM model from in game, the Blockbench plugin has a feature to open CPMProject files in the menu.
