  • Howrah Bridge - The Howrah Bridge is a balanced steel bridge over the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. It was commissioned in 1943. The bridge is one of four on the Hooghly River and is a famous symbol of Kolkata and West Bengal. The other bridges are the Vidyasagar Setu (popularly called the Second Hooghly Bridge), the Vivekananda Setu and the relatively new Nivedita Setu. The third-longest cantilever bridge at the time of its construction, the Howrah Bridge is currently the sixth-longest bridge of its type in the world.
We took the ferry from Babughat to howrah station that is very close to the Howrah bridge. It took around 15 - 20 minutes to reach there. We also visited the famous Howrah station and then returned back.
Later we shifted to another hotel - "Hotel Hyatt centric, Ballygunge". The hotel is at a peaceful residential location. We took a Metro train to Kalighat to see some places around. We wanted to have an experience of the iconic Kolkata Tram but could not due to the holiday, the frequency was very less. Later part of the day we visited - "Biswa Bangla Gate".
Biswa Bangla Gate - Biswa Bangla Gate (also known as Kolkata Gate) is an arch-monument in the city of New Town, Kolkata. It is a restaurant with a different experience due to its architectural construction and the view of the city. For more details you can visit their website - www.biswabangl...
