I wanted to make a quick clarification on adding back the zip ties. You'll notice that where I removed one from and where I re-added it are two different locations. I was mistaken by adding the 2nd one back to the connector when it belonged lower near the horizontal section of the tire frame. This is most likely to keep that wire from moving and hitting the tire. One other thing to keep in mind is to make sure you don't pinch the brake line with the zip tie. It's a smaller black tube next to the motor connection wire. Forgive my error and happy riding!
I followed this video exactly and it worked perfectly. It was my first bike tire change by myself. Thank you Tim!!!
I came across this video at the perfect time! 2 Days ago I got my first flat on my RX and I've been stressed about getting it fixed but this video seriously helped! Thank you!
Awesome. Glad I could help. I was sweating it too, but it turned out to be no big deal. It can easily be done in less than an hour your first time. Thanks for subbing!
@@SESSIONS73 hi guys i need help
got small puncture on my super 73 rx
has the standard tyres
Would a 20 x 4/4.5 inner tube be OK to fix the puncture
Nice guy, very patient, and good "how to" video.
Excellent video! It's great! that you too have the same generation S2 as we have. No derailleur! I hunted and pecked RUclips for a video that had clarification on rear tire removal for models W/O derailleurs. Having your pooch as part of the video is a great touch.Thanks....
Thanks for the kind words!
Tim, this video helped so much! I didn’t even hesitate and got that back tire off in no time. I have a RX
Thank you sir! Glad you found value in it.
Punctured my rear wheel 6 months ago (thankfully had GoPro on myhead, so whole incident on my channel!). Discovered at time no tyres nor tubes available around the world. Finally found and purchased 20x4" green tyre and settled for 4" tubes. But yet to put back on. Rear wheel appeared very complicated. Thanks to your video, not so hard after all. Thanks!
Glad it worked out for you! Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you sir!!!! Installed liners on Front/Rear + changed flat rear tube!!!! Best video. You should be featured by @Super73 … 😎😎😎
Glad it helped! I totally should.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. My flat repair was ten times more difficult because my hex bolts were on super tight. Two came off with a good tug. Two bolts ended up getting stripped. Trying to find replacement bolts took some trial and error. The bolts you need are M8 20mm long 1.25mm thread pitch. If you strip your bolts like I did, look for the XEWEA 13Pcs Screw Extractor Set Hex. The blue stuff on the tips of your bolts is lock tight. I think you should add some of that when you put your bolts back on. Your video looks like your bolts come right off. Just make sure they don't vibrate off.
For sure. Time to give my bike a walk around
LOVE ALL UR VIDS,SO MUCH STEP BY STEP DETAIL ON HOW 2'S AND INFO...GREAT CHANNEL..HAPPY I FOUND YOU..THANK U
You’re welcome!
Very helpful bro, got a flat was able to take it apart and patch it until I get my order for a lining 👍 really easy to learn the way you show it, I struggle with mechanical stuff
Glad I can be of assistance. Glad you’re back on your way!
@@SESSIONS73 I dare say my repair was quite good 😂
Trying this tomorrow. Wish me luck!!
It's tomorrow. Hopefully luck is with you.
Great help for my future yet to be puncture lol, Hudson blue Uk owner ✌🏻
Hudson gang!
Great video. I’m having trouble reinstalling the rear tyre. It’s like the frame width is too small and I can’t fit both sides into the grooves
You seem like you know what your doing thanks for the video it was helpful I have a juiced scrambler have not needed to do that yet
Glad I could help
Thanks for the video!
Got a flat today gonna so this tomorow! Thanks dude.
I am glad I could help!
Thanks for the step by step. I followed it but ran into problems with the chain going back the way it was before. Any pointers you can give on getting h the chain stay on?
Great advice, the videos are epic carry on the good work fella. Peace from the UK
I appreciate the love from across the pond!
Thanks for sharing! I just bought a ZX! I can't wait to ride!

Thanks! Was looking for this everywhere!
Glad I could help!
Love your video man. Found you on Reddit. Keep up the good stuff! 🤟
One of the legends in the space. Thanks for checking in.
Informative video, just waiting for my tire liners to arrive..👍🏻
Thanks! Good luck installing them
Thanks for teach us
It's my pleasure
Great tutorial, thanks for posting....
You're welcome!
Similar story for me the other day, less than 24 hours after adding tire sealant i picked up a thumb sized stick in the tire. One tip my co worker gave me was to use the old tube as a tire liner by slicing it around the inside and sticking it in your tire. Hope this helps someone out
Smart. Extra reinforcement is always necessary.
I ordered an RX and was about to cancel the order after I saw another guy’s vid in how to fix a flat! Then yours was next in line in youtube so I watched yours and it totally seems doable now. So thanks! I had another electric bike with the motor in the hub of the back tire and it was really really hard to fix flats with a cobweb of wires that had to be carefully removed in addition to a bunch of other things! One question: Did you use that sealant spray to get home after getting a flat? I think it’s called Quick Fix or something like that. Just wondering what blue stuff is coming from the puncture. Thanks!
The gash was too big for that slime to do anything. I had to call a friend to come pick me up.
Have you gotten the 10 speed kit? Any possibility of a tire changing tutorial with the 10 speed kit on a bike?
I don't have the 10 Speed kit on there... yet.
How did you slide the tire back into the frame? I'm having the hardest time getting that step complete. Thanks
I pulled on the frame slightly and it pops into place…
you guys know where can i get 20x4.5/5 inner tube thats durable puncture proof like coating slime company that makes tubes thats better?
will this work on a S1? just went to a shop and they said $60 to install the tuffy liners i purchased.
They should. Make sure they fit width wise, but yes, they’ll work.
if you see this!! can i do this without removing the tire from the bike and inflating the inner tube once inside ??
You could, but it seems more difficult. Try it, if it saves you time, come back and let me know.
Nice dog 😀
Very nice.
Does this tutorial go for the rx too changing tires?
Yep, pretty much the same, except you have a chain tensioner.
Great video is that an ammo tin on your frame, if so will one fit a eu zx model, not got my bike yet but watching your videos for ideas thanks again karl
Yeah, it totally should be able to fit.
@@SESSIONS73 great how did you attach yours to the frame
I did a tire liner in my wife’s bike and it rear tire feels bumpy. What did I do wrong? It’s the super sucker rear tire.
It's most likely your bead isn't set. Check the rim of the tire and make sure the tire is on there evenly. If not, deflate, then re-inflate until you hear a pop. Careful not to over-inflate though. You can go a little past the 35 PSI recommendation.
im trying to replace my rx mojave wheels from grizzly to lzrd tires, but their website only has 20 x 4.5, not 20 x 5. do you know if that will fit fine for the back tire?
Yep, you can do 4.5’s on the rear.
I love the detail you went in to! The super73 "official" tire replacement video shows none of the important steps in getting the wheel off 🤦♂️
That’s what I’m here for! Thanks for checking in.
@@SESSIONS73 just got my R yesterday and I'm in love it's awesome! Thanks for all the good advice. Hope I won't need to replace a tire soon 😅
Buy velcro to secure cables
I noticed that you did not put in slime during the repair. Were you unhappy with it? Do you think if you had brought a pump on your ride, you could have made it to the airport (with the slime plugging the hole)? Trying to decide whether slime is worth the effort... thanks so much
It looks like the slime he had in there was no good against that big tare, So he decided to use tire liners instead with the new tube. This is a far better choice, Or something like Tannus armor is very good.. That's what I would advise! Slime is ok but it's only effective with small enough breaches and not not really something you can fully rely on especially on fat tire hub driven ebikes.
Agreed. I may throw some slime in there again, but I've been good with out it so far.
It's nice to have an extra barrier and it's easy to add. I'd say go for it, but I've been just fine without it.
Random question but when you upload your videos to RUclips what category are you placing them in.
It just depends on the video. Either People & Blogs, Science and Technology, or Education. I don’t give it too much thought.

Awesome appreciate the help just wanted to get a rough idea of where to go I'm here in Minnesota just starting to make riding videos but completely new to all of this so yeah any help is a big help thanks.
Can you double up on the liner?
Yep, you can. 👍
Does that tire liner have a sticky said to keep it in place?
It doesn't... You slightly inflate the tube to keep it in place
Own a zg, after about 3 months the chain come odd riding on a flat smooth road one day. Since then I can't realign the chain how it previously was, just constantly runs along the metal frame of the bike. Making horrible grinding noise. Before it may occasionally ching off the chain guard but this is completely different and off-putting.
Finding videos for zg or z1 are quite hard. I feel like I bought the forgotten super73 bike. Especially now the zx out.
That sounds like a really bummer. Has Super73 support given you any help?
Also, upload a video of the problem to Supper73 Facebook’s groups or sub Reddit. There’s a wealth of knowledge in the community.
Damm lord Thank s Mr
You're welcome.
I was following your steps and I actually lost a little peace.. the anti-rotation washers from one side 😞
Oh no! I am sure you can pick one up online. I don't have a source, however.
@@SESSIONS73 I got a question. I out the tire back but the change is not too loose or too tight. More in the tight side. Is that fine ?
🙏🏿
👍
Super 73 is always out of parts that you need what the hell is up with that aftermarket is your best bet
Yeah… I hear ya. You can usually find em cheaper too.
Tire liner is good but adds weight to the tires and makes the bike slower
Not as slow as a flat, but yeah, my bike is getting heavy
@@SESSIONS73 no ur getting heavy as well plus watch wat u run over ur not suppose to run over glass and nails pluse putting 36psi is going to explode ur tire
Thanks. You’re kind. 36 psi was to set the bead like the manual suggests. I let some air out shortly after to recommended PSI.
My channel’s first troll. That means I’ve finally made it. I should send you a prize or something.
@@SESSIONS73 lol you have arrived sir
If anyone knows where I can get off-road tires for my RX in Europe please let me know! thanks XD
Wish I could help. Greetings from across the pond.
@@SESSIONS73 Hahah, thanks! I found some! over at urbandrivestyle.com
Don’t get how to remove chain. Should have shown that part.
Aren't Mr Tuffy liners dangerous to use in fat tires? According to their own website you SHOULD NOT USE MR TUFFY LINERS IN FAT TIRES, they will damage your tubes... please read what they say in the FAQS, I have no idea why they even sell these for Fat Tires if they are not to be used:
Mr. Tuffy FAQ -
Do you make Mr. Tuffy for mopeds, motorcycles or cars?
"We’ve tried .. and failed. Mr. Tuffy liner needs a certain amount of air pressure against it to keep it in place. In a test in a 25 psi moped tire, the moped size liner worked it’s way around to the rim side and actually cut off the valve stem ... not exactly the result we were hoping for."
I wonder if that is for tubeless tires? The moped scenario doesn't sound like it... But I can see cars and motorcycles being tubeless as the issue.
I could do without the weird acid house music bro lol I was baked and that shit was weirding me out.
LOL Sorry.
