Joe Willock put the Magpies into the lead in the first half after a powerful run and a strong finish before Fabian Schär's coolly struck penalty put the result beyond doubt.

I can remember looking at the last run of fixtures and thinking we were going to have to beat fulham and sheffield to stay up. Liverpool chelsea Leicester man city spurs, west ham was brutal but we showed incredibly well. I think willock has priced himself out of staying though. Ashley won't pay what they're going to ask for him now

I'm an Arsenal fan but I'm pretty sure Willock should stay at Newcastle, I have very little faith that he will progress under Arteta
I'm afraid Joe Willock is now simply a better player than you realize. He'll succeed at Arsenal just fine after this experience, kid has improved a lot and grown physically too. So thanks to Newcastle for the great work in developing him (especially physically) as that was were he lacked the most at Arsenal.
Btw this is a similar (but better version) of what Arsenal did with Smith Rowe to get him to his current level, it seems to have worked again. Great decision from Arteta and co to loan him to Newcastle.
@@xaviermalcolm8481 I think Willock is a better player than Arteta realizes, as is Saliba, Guendouzi, Marinelli etc. Arteta's man management is atrocious and his tactics and decision making are simply baffling at times. I wouldn't trust him if I were Willock
@Views of Tyneside There is literally a ZERO % chance of that happening. Take it from an Arsenal fan that has followed the club for decades and has listened to all the talk coming out from our executives and technical director over the last couple of months. Arteta's job is as safe as any job could realistically be in the Premier League.
The only way he leaves is if he decides to walk. The club rate him extremely highly and he'll be working on transfer business as we speak.

Hard to believe but true.
Our *group* of youngsters are developing better than any other group of youngsters in the league (and they have all come on a long way this season thanks to Arteta having the guts to play them - no other manager is playing as many young players as Arteta in the league)
Even his decision to loan Willock to Newcastle has proved to be a brilliant one for the boy.
Arsenal will kick on next season.

Hard working, talented and a very good lad. Willock is everything you want in a player.. Although I am an Arsenal fan and want him to succeed at Arsenal first because he's one of our own, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Newcastle comes with a big fee to sign him permanently. Allan Irénée Saint-Maximin plays without FEAR and very confident,running like "crazy horse"- even though facing big clubs' top defenders(feeling like he plays with school boys🤭🤭) and very entertaining. I think he is the best winger or best player of EPL 2020/2021.
