    Your natural voice and your English sound great! Don't let your accent keep you from talking in your videos if you want to. Ivan Miranda has a very successful channel and he speaks with a very strong accent in English. His fans still love his videos regardless.

    Inspiring video! Don't worry about struggling to speak English well, I think you could find making videos a great way to improve even! I myself am finding working on projects difficult but therapeutic and learning a lot along the way!

    And i can just agree - having something to tinker on really is therapy... and while i cant (yet) do such epic stuff... i started with a 3D-Printer, slowly getting there tho one challenge one project at a time! - very inspiring video, keep up the great work and i cant wait for more!😉

    Have you thought about adding a controller for Ardurover to have it plow autonomously? 😊

    • @frengen_engineering
      @frengen_engineering  3 дня назад

      Hi! I’ve been considering the idea of automating it, but I’m struggling to see how it could work without a significant risk of collisions or damage. The challenge lies in the fact that, in theory, it needs to push against the snow, which requires some level of collision, while avoiding objects hidden beneath the snow. Any tips?

    • @OwnerOfOwn
      @OwnerOfOwn 3 дня назад

      @@frengen_engineering honestly ardurover has so many tools for this. I will try and keep this simple for translation and reading.
      you can map all areas and obstacles in ardurover as it is gps based
      ardupilot/rover does not use a vision system
      also look into "wheeled skid steer tracks" they are metal tracks that wrap around the tires and they would be perfect for this use in winter!

    • @wh00bee
      @wh00bee 3 дня назад

      @frengen_engineering I guess that is indeed a challenge. You might use a load cell mounted on the linkage of the snow blade to detect the pressure exerted on the blade itself, and calibrate it to filter out the pressure sensed by the actual snow when you plow, but this is just an idea from the top of my head. You need to be a bit confortable with programming, since I don't think such sensor exists in the ardurover world. For objects avoidance above the snow there are already some solutions supported by the framework using lidar or depth cameras.

    • @MitchStahara
      @MitchStahara 3 дня назад

      @@frengen_engineering I think you could approach this a few ways, you could use yardage markers that stick above snow that a camera looks for QR codes or IR markers to avoid collision, also premapping the area could provide some help too, a small load sensor on the plow for safety, defined perimiters/barriers where the plow can only go, a low resolution thermal camera to avoid any animals/humans as a second safety feature, a large button/plate on the top that emergency stops the vehicle if someone presses or falls on top of the vehicle. Regarding the load sensor specifically, you could put probes just bellow or above and slightly ahead of the plow scoop, and if it hits anything it stops, basically how a roomba works! I have been following this project and commented on a few of your previous videos, it has been inspiring and I completely agree that a creative challenge can give you a new way of life.

    • @frengen_engineering
      @frengen_engineering  2 дня назад +1

      @@MitchStahara Thank you so much for your thoughtful response and great suggestions! I think the "simplest" solution for me would be to keep the machine within a defined area, similar to robotic lawnmowers, using either a boundary wire or GPS.
      This could be combined with distance sensors to stop the machine before it collides with objects taller than the snow.
      Making the machine fully autonomous would definitely increase the complexity of the project and require a lot of trial and error, but it’s an exciting challenge.
      I really appreciate your input. it’s very motivational and helpful.
      Best Regards
