Ancient And Historical Sher Shah Suri Baoli Well In Wan Bhachran District Mianwali

In this video we will show you 500 years old historical well which was constructed by Sultan-ul-Hind Sher Shah Suri in the middle of 16th century. This is very big well that the depth of this well is more than 50 meter and more than 400 stairs have been constructed to go inside this well. This is said about this well that in 16th century the Afghan Sardar Fareed Khan known Sher Shah Suri passed from here than they constructed many baolis for the elephants and horses of their army and also roads for travel. This is famous about this baoli that this baoli was constructed in very short time. When this baoli was constructed that the elephants, horses and army were drank water inside this well after get down. A baoli is such a well in which the stairs go up to the water level. According to Professor of History Muhammad Arif from Government College Mianwali that in the area of Mianwali Wan Bhachran the first tribe which settled on this well in baoli which was constructed by Sher Shah Suri that tribe name was Bhachar. That is the way the name of this city become Wan Bhachran. This is from of approximately 28 kilometer on distance from Mianwali on Sargodha Khushab road. Two towers were constructed on this well which are also present today. The purpose to construct towers was that to inform passengers who came from far lang there is arrangement of water and residence present for them. This well has very interesting history. The thin brick used for the construction of this well which was called Rekhaa. Till the establishment of Pakistan the condition of this well was very good but this started destroyed later and the people surrounding here started to throw garbage in it. The 6 arches of this well are still remain now and the remaining arches have been buried in the mud. This well is in the custody of Archaeology Department of Punjab and they look after this well. In 2022 the Archaeology Department committed to reconstruction this well and had restored this well on its original shape at the cost of 2 crore rupees. Now a boundary wall is constructed of this well and also installed an iron grill but the way to go inside well has been closed completely. The benches have been installed here after give a shape of a park of this well. Citizens come here and enjoy a lot. The water of this well has been dirty and muddy which is not able to drink. This is the need of the hour to clean this well so that the water can be used to drink. An ancient time the people came on this well and slept inside this well. There is no tree here. In fact this is a historical place of Pakistan. I hope you will like and enjoy this video.
