I think its in part the intensity of the individuals involved here . Also its the raw talent they possess and oh my freaking bazzinga at such a young age . This is natural born talent developed over many lifetimes and a blessing to us all . I just wish they would express more upbeat emotion . Yeah , I get it , life is hard and causes us upset and pain but , lets be a little more forgiving and get on with it shall we . They are still so young so , lets see what time and maturity brings . They will likely be around for years . It will be interesting to see their evolution bring about new and different songs with a more settled down theme . One thing though , they have to keep that hard driving sound around . I feel sure they will . Love ,peace and light to skating polly and all .

yes, it's definitely got some regina spektor vibes, though i think it was more consciously an homage to fiona apple. the band have been very inspired by regina though since their first record, and you can hear it a lot in kelli's vocals on a lot of songs on lost wonderfuls as well as her (especially early on) story-based approach to songwriting, but I think this is the one where they most emulate her instrumental structure as well.
