    This is Fantastic !!
I was admiring nature and the tiny, until I did not notice the foundation until he started talking about it.
He did a good job incorporating the tress into the build. He said he likes it now the added support, being in shaker territory, it was necessary. But nowadays a earthquake can happen anywhere.
He did an awesome job building this. Even though he has to deal with the water flowing down the tree. I believe Frank Lloyd Wright had a tree inside one of his builds
I'm not a fan of open showers, nor tree houses, but I Really like his. The kitchen is beautiful, love the dish rack. I could sit on that porch all day. The color selection of everything is Perfection. The home is so earthy.
This seems like The Place to do nothing but relax, read a book, or listen to jazz, it has that vibe.
They are both creatuve people, her ceramics are beautiful, wouldn't mind buying some. This is one beautiful property, I enjoyed watching this .
    Tfs.

❤Yes you can fix the rain. Put a clear tube around the tree, so the rain goes down tree and out the bottom. Your black tube around it now can still be used. Hope you try it.😊😊😊😊

Love this treehouse Jenna, especially the plywood sheets instead of tongue and groove! I especially like being way above the ground. Keeps critters from living underneath and fighting with skunks over the space. It also helps those of us with serious respiratory issues.

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful house. I was born in Bremerton, and grew up in the Cascades. Having a view of water and the mountains is like a cool drink of water for the soul.
When (at 7:40) Shawn mentioned drawing people through a space with light (or other features), I was reminded of my classes at the U of W with Philip Thiel, and his ideas on moving people through an environment, with attention to the rhythm of light/dark, wide/narrow, high/low. He even developed a system of notation to document the existing or desired effects.

Wow, amazing, so well thought. A special tree house indeed. I would use induction for cooking, no gas and risk of fire. Also some kind of hammock would be nice. Beautifully done. The whole thing (including hosting artists) is awesome . Such a special location as well. I'm sure it must be very costly, but inspiring. Cheers

The concept of this treehouse is wonderful! Open concept even in the shower! As an artist, I could see myself staying there and getting energized all over again! I did have one question….I didn’t see any plumbing leading up to the treehouse. I wondered if they hid it well, or what? The color scheme was on point, as wood tones really bounce off of the black cabinets and other fixtures of the house.

The hour long boat certainly would start to shift me.
As a multi-media artist & writer I would love to stay there for a bit. (I love ceramics. I haven’t touched clay in a million years.)
Sadly even if the opportunity was there I wouldn’t be able to do so. I wouldn’t be able to do those stairs.
The home is warm and cozy. The view is breathtaking. The pottery is wonderful. Even the bathroom is great. 😄
I love all the ply. Sheetrock/drywall has no soul.

Round and Square shape shower design could be carried across to the tree that runs through the home. Use acrylic or glass panels to build a floating box around the tree that still allows it to feel like part of the space without the sealing issues.

Everyone says ouch for the trees, but the trees are still there. There is plenty of room for growth for the trees. So what is the different of cutting trees to build a house out of the lumber veres leaving the trees to continue to grow. The tree will do fine with the GL bolts. Mini spilts are very efficient, a good source of conservation.

Most professional treehouse builders anchor the house to the trees in such a manner that it doesn't hurt the trees. Their internal structures aren't damaged, & they have room to grow. It doesn't make sense to risk the trees that are holding up your house...

People in Dorset in England solved the tree sealing problem a few... huh... centuries ago I would guess, but didn't really implement it on tree-houses in this sense until the more recent years when tree-houses became more of a luxury thing. It's not something the American audience would be familiar with because of their building methods, favouring the slats, tiles, sealed flat roofs and so on.
It's thatching. You literally bunch and layer up thatching straw around the trunk, sloping out, and the hundreds of reeds wick the water out and away from the trunk and onto the rest of the roof. It's what thatching is literally created to do.
