In our world polygamy is accepted for around 2%. Imagine if it was like 60%. In their world is something like that (I suppose), so Roxy don't feel guilt because of the "cheating", but for his state of mind when it happens. (Is still cheating because Rudy promised to Sylph)

Crazy episode and it got me to go on a few discussions throughout. As I go into detail in the video, yeah some of it is messed up but it's also a story not real people.
Excited to see what happens in the next one!

Mushoku doesn't just do things without paying them off brilliantly. AND WHAT HAPPENED HERE WITH ROXY IS GOD-TIER IMPORTANT UNTIL THE END OF THE STORY. IT'S THAT IMPORTANT.
    But... On the episode itself...
Light novel readers expected divisions between fans and toutists, a filter. What we got is a bunch of pissed off light novel readers and anime onlies who found the episode to be "okay".
That's a problem because it shouldn't be like that. This episode is actually the EMOTIONAL CLIMAX of not only this volume but the entire series so far. That's the Rudy flashbacks and him processing his own grief. It has a WHOLE CHAPTER dedicated to it. It's the chapter we readers cried a lot in. Rudy is grieving not only his current parents but his previous one. For the third time, he's reverted back to a NEET, but, this time, he plans to die with them, starving himself as he replays Paul's death over and over. There are sooooo many moments here that reveals a lot about Rudeus, his reincarnation, his new life, EVERYTHING.
First flashback it was his past self. Second it was his friend. Third it was his brother. Fourth it should be his parents, but his parents didn't even get the screentime here like the others.
Then that's when the Roxy confrontation happens. But this has a lot of context like a meeting where they want to help Rudy but couldn't, thinking that he can pick himself up. They overestimate Rudeus but Roxy knows who he is. So she tries ti comfort him, first with words. But he slapped Roxy's hand. He screams and argues. It all leads to the climax, a very cruel accident where Rudeus wanted to peel the pain away and thus taking Roxy's offer, eventually leading to what is framed to be a MISTAKE.
The focus was not on Roxy, but Rudeus.
Based on his recent tweets, the writer got pressured to eventually approve the changes to this episode to "please a wider audience" which is what fuels my hatred for this episode even more.
They completely butchered not only the most emotional part so far, a part that could've gotten superb directing, and cut it all for Roxy screentime. Hell, they even turned Roxy into a lowkey rapist as a way to not put too kuch responsibility on Rudy, which is not how it should be. This should be as presented as raw as possible because these are supposed to be realistic flawed characters.
It's frustrating as a light novel reader. I'm sure the author didn't want it this way either. Just frustrating...

It was a great episode imo. Are characters flawed? Yes of course, the show established that since season1 but the story is good so far in the world they've worked hard to create.
      Im excited!

@@reesereactsYTthey actually switched out the parts when Roxy grabbed Rudys hand, what actually happened there was Rudy forced himself with Roxy and that was reversed in the anime
And this episode is one of the most important parts of Rudys story
