  • Each Railroad era had different types of turnout- and signal control systems. In this video we´re sorting them out, adding details to stations and yards reflecting each of those different eras of signal control. Some of the required items can be purchased from the manufacturers such as Faller, Viessmann, Walthers or Noch. They are often poorly detailed and very expensive. We are therefore 3D-printing all the necessary items in this video.

Nice job! It brings layout to life! 👍
In some cases, there is option to use transparent fishing line to imitate bulbs that lite up separately with LEDs spread apart in hiden place, one line end goes through box wall, sticking a little bit out, but other end of fishing line ends up directly on LEDs.. Works well in small distances to transmit light.. 😉

Hi Martin, what a neat detailing video of lineside control systems. I really liked the LED in the box/cabinet with the water effect solution. Even though it was only one LED it looks as if it is pulsating along all the tiny holes on the front panel. I love seeing your videos as they are wonderfully put together, entertaining and show many practical uses, hint and tips for any modeller viewing them. 10/10.

Great video! In Czechoslovakia we had the wire-controlled turnouts even in the 1990's in rural areas. Not sure if some of them are in use until now, but I'd guess some remainings could be found.

    Hi Martin,
I drive trains on Western region in UK, we still have wire control and semaphore signals in some areas. I drive through Hereford and Worcester areas which are still semaphore signalled, it's a good system and has far less failures than the colour light signalled sections.
    Cheers Rich

Hello sir, Victor from New Jersey the armpit of America. Better than Russia though LOL I want to say you have a very weird way about you but I love it. Your work is phenomenal realistic ready with the best who do it very difficult to achieve what you've done curious as to what you do for a living engineer I'm thinking electrical engineer structural engineer am I getting warm. Or you just very talented in artist I'm a carpenter I can make walls and buildings and bridges out of all the real material no foam to perfection I do it at work I just have to shrink it down. I'm starting an ho layout now I'm doing it in four foot blocks because I don't know how long I will live here I have to be able to pick it up and leave when time is up. Haven't started building it yet haven't figured out exactly what to build and keep changing my mind keep seeing different things keep coming up with different ideas how do you settle down any suggestions. I've been watching you for a while it's another guy watched it does HO scale work a retired Carpenter who builds layouts for people very good at what he does I will send you his name and his sight. Just wondering if you have any suggestions for a beginner thank you for what you do it's amazing keep up the good work

Hi Martin, again a great video! Sometimes i think you have a camera installed in my train room, started to use 3D printing for the small parts, installing catenary, renewing a BR53.. we are suspiciously in sync :)
I wonder if you can tell us something about the signing (not signals but the other stuff) that is used along the tracks. It's a difficult topic i guess because of the regional differences but some sort of a basic overview would be highly appreciated.
