I’m 49 and I have love freestyle since the late 80s through the 90s and still. And I used to collect all those cool freestyle mixtapes where was just one long endless freestyle jam. And the way these videos are put together. Just like those long freestyle mixtapes. Man it’s nothing but love. I always listen to freestyle, but to hear it play in this way. I feel nothing but love. Yes I did repeat endless nights on accident. You pay attention to detail!! Yes there will be a part 3! It’s going to be a while before I can get it out to you guys. I’m currently editing some footage. Thanks for your suggestions. I do mix these live using Serrato, so the mixes aren’t perfect, but it’s an example of what I sound like in a live setting.

This is the kind of music that people played either in Carnival (or Circus) amusement rides, like the Music Express (where you went backwards), a regional roller skating rink (New York: Empire Roller Rink in NYC; Roxy Roller Disco, Prospect Park; Miami's Roller Rink (Hot Wheels/Super Wheels; Philadelphia: Rolling Thunder Skating Center, Millennium Skate World), or at junior or senior (high school) proms. 1980's-1990's Latin freestyle: mainly in the Latino communities: New York (City), Miami; Philadelphia (Philly).. Shannon's "Let The Music Play" has to be one of the earliest freestyle records.. I think.
Freestyle was not originally Latin base, it was Black base and since many Blacks and Latinos lived together, the music crossed over the line of the culture. I know many think that Latins created the sound but it's through Shannon, the Queen of Freestyle as the first to share the sound with her crew. Freestyle spun into Break Dancing era, Dance music and later EDM.
