  • I realized stability isn't guaranteed, even if I chose a career that would give me a stable job.
    Choosing to be self-employed and start my own business many years ago was the best decision I could make, and it's forced me to grow in ways I may have not - had I settled.
    My parents strongly encouraged me to choose a path that was more secure, but internally I knew that was just not how I'm wired, so I had to forge my own path.

    Really resonated with me being a self-employed filmmaker myself. I am also thinking of moving to Vancouver CA from the states... how do you like it there?

      Good on you for taking the risk!
      Vancouver can be a tough place to live in as it’s rainy/cloudy through the winter and there’s a higher cost of living in general. A lot of people also find it hard to make connections here, but if you find a community - it’s a lovely place to be, as there’s mountains, the ocean and a relatively chill ‘small city’ vibe.
