I HIGHLY do not recommend buying genesis crystals in genshin impact. The optimal fun way to play IMO is welkin, or welkin + battle pass, but no more. That's what I did before I became a CC. I know a lot of you will be worried that we're spending too much, or that my wife is legitimately worried about our financial state etc etc etc. Rest assured that reactions (including my wife's) are exaggerated for comedic effect. This spending is perfectly within our means given that it is:
- more or less required to make my content the way it is
- a tax write off, so everything I spend is essentially 50% off
- recouped in large part from revenue from the video (I have additional sponsorships and contracts that are not just tied to ads)
- likely the final big spend I'll ever have to do since I'm now "caught up" on characters

Based. I am a Welkin + battle bass and it’s actually financially pretty comfortable. Welkin is 5 bucks every month and the BP is 10 bucks every month and a half, so more like 12.5 bucks total every month. A lot of people spend that much on streaming services like Netflix.

i played for 3+ yr with 2 accounts and one of them had not gotten mona either... so i had to get her on this banner... and i failed 50/50 got a klee too...😅
If it makes the gacha hurt less, your commitment to building every character to show that they can be usable is a lot of why I kept playing Genshin.
Not to put other creators down, but I was getting burnt out while listening to "account value" advice, but content like yours has gone a long way to help me enjoy the game again. My faves are characters like Wrio, Itto, Mona, Xiao, Ayato, Diluc, and Shenhe, so not really the big meta characters. Really looking forward to the future Mona guide, I'm dying to find some teams where I can use her!

[11:24] As someone who enjoyed Tectone's $2000 Staff of Homa videos years ago I can assure you this is fun to watch. We live vicariously through you as most of us would never spend $1500 in a single wish session. Also, there's a touch of schadenfreude mixed in, but more in the Maury "you are not the baby's father' way rather than the Nelson Muntz "Ha-ha!"

Based on my experience, just Welkin and BP (and all the free primogem sources in the game) may not be enough to get you all future characters but you definitely shouldn't need to spend any large sums anymore.
It is actually enough if u plan well even with welkin only
If you’re curious for a viewer’s perspective, I found the Dori’s to be surprisingly entertaining - kinda like a reoccurring gag delivered well. I salute your efforts here.

ok before I watch I just wanna say I spent 200 bucks and got hunters path, beacon and skyward blade and essentially completed all the "standard" weapons I wanted. even nailed 5 Lisa constellations, this banner is awesome.

I apologize for rejecting all those Doris, but it was pretty pog to go from C1 to C6 on Gorou (at the expense of losing to Dehya, but she was the last standard character I was missing!).
...Forgot that five-stars have voicelines now, dang, missed out on Dehya's shout-out.

I feel you same thing happened to me on the last hu tao banner. Got c1 hu tao but no xingqui and a lot of diona.
DAMN.. I also got C1 Chiori and didn't get a single Gorou.. This is rigged really.
I wanted one Chiori but got a C6 Gorou, also Dehya C1 so I not unhappy, can use the assured for Arlecchino
About 600 wishes spent for me to get c4 Gorou.
Yeah, all my whale friends are complaining that the Gorou is rigged this banner. One guy has c6 Itto and Chiori but only c4 Gorou. How the hell does that even happen

With 0 Pity I got Chiori (no guarantee), then i pulled 40 more times (chiori c1), I then go to roll on Weapon banner (7 pity) and my first 10 pull Uraku. I got so lucky completely saved wishes since beginning of Xiao banner with 50 wishes left over. Im so hype. I got lucky as hell. Now my Navia (c0/r1) has the perfect pairing with my Xianling (c6) and Bennet (c4). I have a really lucky f2p account. Also I got Gorou c5 and Yunjin c4 and Dori c4
All those Jeans hurt my soul, day 1 player and I still don't have her, thought i was getting her last night finally but first multi in the new banner and I get c1 fricking Eula... i am now like 50 pity in with the fate point and need to grind out more wishes, f2p is rough. I just lost 50/50 previously on cloud retainer and had to grind to get her..
Not gonna lie, that Mona was "Decided by destiny!" that she came as a last missing piece.
The 4-star rate up I think is most wishers get a certain character at a higher rate than evenly split to the 3 of them. 60 pulls in and I got mostly Yun Jins, a couple of Gorou and no Dori. Aaand I lost my 50/50, but it's Dehya which I still don't have so it's okay.

Jello is dying on the blade for us. Perhaps Hoyo will finally take notice and create epitomised path for four stars it worked for five star weapons. It took me over a year as BP + Welkin player wishing on Geo banners to get a c6 Gorou.
4 star drops on this feel almost rigged, only 4 star i pulled was yunjin on almost every pull, and shes the only one i have C6, the rest were weapons >

I’ve gotten c2 Gorou from standard and while watching your video (even though I’m saving for kaz/neuv) I got inspired to build up enough stardust to buy my 5 fates this month. I literally did one ten pull and the foyer pull was Gorou lmao 😂😂😘😘

I blew all of my past 2+ months of saved primos just trying to get a Kaeya constellation. Instead I hard pity lost my 50/50 to Eula, then had to hit hard pity again to get Albedo who I'll never use.
I wish someday in my future life, i can sit on the chair and talk about genshin which is my second life with my wife.
Man...I feel kind of bad watching the first couple minutes. I somehow C6'd Gorou without even trying. I never had him, but when rolling for Itto I just kept getting Gorou. I even got him twice in one 10 pull 😅 Same thing happened with Faruzan awhile back. It's true- when you dont want a character, they're more likely to show up.
Your not wrong. My highest constelation characters are c5 faruzan and c5 fishl, and only because I bought fishl out of the shop or I'd be c4. Meanwhile I don't have cloud retaineer, wanderor or Xiao lmao.

I personally think that Dori is ranked up higher for chances. Everyone I've seen and known that has wished keeps getting Dori.
I pulled on this banner and lost 50/50. 130 wishes and 1 Gorou. I have pulled on every banner Gorou was ever on. In fact I would have a c6 5 star if I never lost 50/50 and I only have a c4 Gorou. Approximately 600 wishes spent in total for a c4 Gorou. I have c6 of every other 4 star character on his banners in return. I wish I could post a picture of how many Yunjin I got back to back in a row.
I dont even need to wish for c6 gorou because im already at c4 from off banner wishes 😅 the game loves to give me this lad

I have been saving for 7 months for Itto, and despite my loyalty to him, I lost the 50/50 and got C4 Dori, which was salvaged by C5 Gorou and Itto. And the worst part is
I LOST TO JEAN! I ALREADY HAD A JEAN! I COULD HAVE GOTTEN MONA OR TIGHNARI OR KEQING!
On another note besides Ranting
I went over the Training Guide System a bit while I did a stream of my rolls, and I honestly did not like it. It seemed the system was too straight forward in its paramaters and didn't have much depth.
Its just 4 categories
**Oh Level your character to 90**
**Oh give them 5* Artifacts at Level 20**
**Oh give them a level 90 Weapon**
**Oh Max out their Talents**
And thats considered good, without considering budget, the rarity of Crowns and so much more.
I saved about 50 pulls since Nahdia (was on 60 pity since getting her). I did a 10 pull as I wanted gouro x2 and YJx5 and I got Chiori on my 1st 10 pull..then Tig 20 pulls after...when with leveling Chiori to 40 I got mona on the standard banner (c3)... looking at your experience make me feel sad seeing like c50 Dori. Looking forward to the Chi and Mona guide

I get the thing with the weapon banner, I have two R5 Widsiths and only today got my second Favonius Warbow ona cheeky 10 pull for C4 Gorou

I have loved your content since day 1 I discovered the game last summer. Thank you for this wonderful journey. Can’t want for all the testing and the wise input you will share with us. But please remember that a lot of us “young” Genshin players are quite far from having C6 4-stars, so some input in your guides on how they feel before C6 is going to be majorly helpful.

I've aggregated the data from the pulls, in case anyone is curious. Assuming 0 pity as stated for all banners:
12 Dori, 9 Yun Jin, 5 Gorou, 3 Razor, 3 Mika, 2 Thoma, 1 Collei, 1 Lisa, 1 Kayea, 1 Amber, 1 Fischl, 1 Sucrose
2 Jean, 1 Klee, 1 Chiori (80-89 pity, lost 50/50 to Jean), 1 Itto (20-29 pity, lost 50/50 to Jean), 1 Albedo (11-20 pity, lost 50/50 to Klee), 1 Mona (41-50 pity, won 50/50)
Interesting that only 4 stars that are advertised on the 5 star limited banners were pulled from those banners. It's unlikely to pull 4 stars from the larger pool, but you'd think you'd see one or two in over 300 pulls.
302 total wishes on the 5 star limited banners
70 total wishes on the weapons banner
144 total wishes on the chronicled wish banner
Pity is given in ranges, because these were largely 10 pulls with the exception of the batch of single pulls that included Klee.

This is my luckiest banner thus far, Chiori and weapon in 60 pulls, with Redhorn right after. With C6 Yun Jin using the leftover rolls. 🎉

Among my on-banner luck, I got a second The Flute, as I had an R5 before, but seeing the Chronicled Wish allowed to get both character and weapon four-stars regardless, I tried my luck... Went to nine-pity only to get _another_ Flute! I think I'll abstain from Chronicled Wish off of that pain...

This wishing session is why C6 4 stars should not be compared to C0 5 stars. C1 or C2 5 stars can easily be easier to obtain than C6 4 stars.
I have pulled about 600 wishes on Gorou banners. Only c4 Gorou. I got more 5 stars on his banners than Gorou himself. I feel a c6 4 star is about c2 5 star rarity on average. The main difference is that there is no guarantee on 4 stars. You could in theory never get them in an infinite number of wishes.

I'm a day one player, welkin + bp only and have every character but Tighnari....
I don't get the weapon though. The only one time I pulled on weapon banner was for Staff of Homa and I got a standard weapon first.
On character banner, I lost my 50-50 to Qiqi 4 time in a row!
I still only have Razor C2, 2 of them being randomly on standard banner even though I wished on 3 banner where he was featured!

This video is showcasing how BAD the 4-star situation is. Especially in cases where a C6 character is CRUCIAL to a team comp like Gorou or Faruzan.
EDIT: I recommend if anyone gets a 4-star beyond C6, keep tallies as each one gives enough starglitter for an Intertwined Fate. Then exchange however many extras you got for rolls. That way you don’t eat into the funds for the shop 4-stars.
