I been playing consistently for a month now. I had the same problem, however i got really lucky last week, I got Tank, Penny, and Royal King.( Im at squad league already Level 20). It was really frustrating tho i actually love the game so yeah i didn't give up. Now, the only thing left for me is to get the Wizard.

In terms of strategy, I always prefer the economy strat where I farm the beginning, get all the value I need tos tart building up my squad with dps units near the endgame. Having some bandits and traders to give you gems while playing is super good for a backup if you aren't strong enough to fight. Here is my Squad: Chicken, Greg, Trader, Barbarian, Goblin - Hoooog Rideeerr, Bandit, Tank, Bea, Medic - Archer Queen, Barbarian King, Battle Healer, Witch, Max
I know picking a draft is so good but for me a randomized roster makes the game more challenging. Imagine using the same unit over and over again for the whole season.
@pokerface_126 Mine is almost identical… but I would have Pam in lieu of Penny, and Royale King in lieu of Witch. I recognize that those are sus replacements in my personal list, but I like the strategy of area control and holding control of 2-3 chests that are close to each other. I like the jessie, Royale king, Pam, and Battle healer combo of every time I open a chest I have a bunch of dope things happen, that help me control the area. Also the Hog Rider, Greg, and Trader combo (which I personally nicknamed Grog Trider) is one of my favorite combos in the game!
@pokerface Also while Chisgule (a waaaaay better player than me) prefers Mavis over Greg in this list, I like how Greg synergies with hog, and you don’t have to leave the middle for carrots (which is also why bea didn’t make my list.) You also don’t REALLY need Mavis healing if you have Trader healing you anyway. Anyways, I’m only an intermediate player. Chise is a pro. lol.
The variability in everybody's draft really makes things like double suppliers viable. Is because if you don't have a fighting draft then you're not going to be able to keep up with that strategy So if you're able to farm so to speak and just run away from engagements sometimes that is literally the way to win
Rare units are the most balanced and all of them provide some situational value, however for Commons and Epics half of them are just plain bad and unusable and urgently need a buff.
I like this as a thought experiment but I wouldn’t want to see it added to the game. The meta would get really stale if people could pick their drafts. That said, as the number of characters grows, perhaps they could play with the idea of guaranteed draft options (maybe 1 per rarity).

Assuming that I'm playing in a lobby of 9 other people that also chose their lineup, I think you either go trader mavis and greg, or none of them. Either you focus the economy or busting, I think a hybrid strategy loses both battles. The battle for building PvP squads and holding middle, and doesn't get enough gems to compete with people going all in on PvE. The only exception is maybe taking a trader but no Greg/Mavis, as just losing 1 draft dps option means you still have a chance to beat the damage rush squad builders. Overall I think my optimal team would be Barb Shelly Mavis Trader Greg for commons, Bandit Tank Hog Jessie and Pam/Penny, and AQ BK Max Battle Healer and Witch. Ultimately the epics 4 of the 8 are guaranteed picks, and the last slot is usually a tossup between mortis witch dr t and royale king, and I picked witch over the rest because dr t and royale king just kinda suck and I have a lot of farming units so early game utility doesn't matter as much, so Mortis isn't necessary. As for rares hog tank jessie is guaranteed. I think Bandit is a good extra gem source, but I could see justifying an ice wizard. Penny/Pam really comes down to if you have Ultra tier units. If so, I'd say penny since you have healing from greg, and trader's is increased as well. I don't have ultra tier so I will go Pam though.
This is why we can’t have personalised load outs as of now. Every game would just be Mavis Trader which would be very boring and stale. Unless they rebalance trader, loadouts will have to remain randomised.
@@DenDenz1511 Nah I think there will be some people that will build around overpowering the mavis trader users, so then it's just rng if they get more speed than the mavis greg trader spammers.
I like to go Greg instead of Mavis for supplier because there are trees in the middle of the map, but for mavis I would have to go back outside the middle.
Well that's good and bad at the same time. It's bad because if you only have Greg you're going to be stuck in the middle which is dangerous unless you have a big squad up. If you don't have that then you're basically screwing yourself because any squad can come up to you and attack. Having mavis is good because she can heal your squad while plucking the coins out from carrot patches. It's good to have both actually

Interesting choices! I think for myself I would probably go with:
Common: Barbarian, Shelly, Chicken, Trader, Greg
Rare: Hog, Tank, Nita, Jessie, Penny
Epic: Queen, King, Max, Battle Healer, Witch
Have any one ever noticed that in rare there are only two melee units and rest everyone is ranged

Really depends on game mods, hog rider and BK are OP, but even hog rider is useless and a liability in golden boots
