    This was recorded before KId A was released. These people were hearing for the first time! I would've died right there.

    What the F for real - so much air and lightness in this version (compared to the claustrophobic album version), and the freakin harmonica in the ending. Heyday for them for sure (not that they are bad now...)

    This is the high point of Radiohead - this version of this song at this moment. This is my desert island Radiohead song: the absolute pinnacle. What a band.

      I think it sounds kind of bad to be honest. That piano synth melody that carries throughout the whole song just sounds out of tune and weird. Not out of tune in a good way.

      @@BrinoctopusI think your taste is kinda boring if you find the piano obscure.

    Wow I love this version more than the studio version. And I absolutely adore the studio version. But this one is better imo.

    Several months ago, I was just getting into the band and my English teacher suggested me to listen to OK Computer followed by Kid A in that order. I was in a remote and touristy area in Wisconsin during its off season on March and I downloaded some flacs of Kid A from Deezer because I didn't listen to it at the time yet. It was night outside my timeshare and it was snowing, I had just finished EIIRP and when I heard the album version of this song, I was in complete awe and how much the song fitted in with that scenery. Everytime I play back Kid A, I always imagine that faithful night when I heard it for the first time, snow falling slowly with the time share number lights on at pitch dark.

    This sounds so much better without the voice modulation

    • @CyberneticSheep
      @CyberneticSheep 2 месяца назад +4

      While i do agree its a nice change to hear him without the modulation. Part of the magic of this song for me is how anonymous it feels because of the modulation, its like the band wanted you to forget that thom is singing. And the robotic voice just gives the lyrics a sense of isolation in an empty world. Im not saying it sounds worse or better, just gives it a different vibe, hearing him singing live without it sounds more personal, like sharing it to the world.
