Facing mounting pressure to do something about drownings at the city’s beaches, New York City Mayor Eric Adams insists safety is improving.
There were a record-breaking 800,000 visitors to the city’s 14 miles of beaches during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

My high school biology teacher Beverly c. Said her husband learned in the military that a certain race has an extra bone in their ankle and that's why they aren't good swimmers. I don't know if this is true but its what I was taught in public school.
