Frontal Assault is a good heavy metal album, but it doesn't sound like the original Angel Witch at all. That special and unique sound in the old demos, singles and their first album is the best they have brought for us to listen. Frontal Assault, as well as its predecessor (not being bad at all) are much closer to Dokken, they even sound more American than British to me. Just in case, I like Dokken from the 80s, so I'm not being despective with my comparison.
Their first album sounds much more like the many other NWOBHM bands by those days, this one, is much closer to an original identity, I don't listen to any dokken style at all... maybe you'd take a better listen to the complete album.
