Yeah it sucks but at least instead of sleeping, Hitch was actually thinking about Marlo too when it showed her looking out of her window waiting for the scouts to return.
@@salejrei3564 Well I think they believe Erwin is dead from the battlefield scene but I don’t think they’re expecting the conflict to come next episode.
@@okeneli7416 yeah but they will figure out Armin will make it since half the episode is about who of those two get to live, that's the point of next ep. They already know from the beggining that Erwin won't make it due to that spoiler. Also Lola will probably say it just like she figured out what will happen from 3x12. Anyways that's why spoilers suck.
13:30 I want to talk about this one scene since I think you'll appreciate it. First I think you noticed how Hitch was actually awake rather than asleep like Marlo thought, but there's a little more to it. The flowers Hitch has there are anemones, the supposed flowers that sprung up from aphrodite's tears mourning the death of Adonis, her lover who was killed by the gods. The flowers themselves have gained a lot of different symbolisms over the years, many of which are still applicable here: The meaning that stands out the most that many fans will point out is the meaning of forsaken or forgotten love, but this is usually the meaning behind red/pink anemones, of which Hitch has none. Anemones also have the meaning of the death of a loved one, or bad luck. This is commonly associated with white anemones and is the kind you'll more typically find at funerals. The two purple anemones, while they can still symbolize any of the previous meanings as well, tend to mean protection instead. Protection against evil or bad luck, or positive anticipation for the future. It's clear that at least some of this is what Isayama was going for, but my personal theory, that may just be me reading into things to much, is that it goes a little deeper than that and colour is important here. Hitch has 2 purple anemones and 1 white anemone, I think this symbolizes Hitch's anticipation for Marlo's return and wish for his protection whereas still having the fear of his death lingering in her mind. I think it's quite phenomenal what you can do with such a simple frame and I have respect for that.

Milena continues with the stupidity of thinking who dies and who does not and had the worst reaction in history, Lola on the other hand had the reaction that we all had,
In this episode everyone represents a false heroism, Erwin thinking about the basement before his tactic, Levi not being able to kill the beast titan for thinking of Erwin and Marlowe who regretted having been there. However, Armin sacrificed himself without selfish thoughts, 勇者 refers to a hero of courage, not a comic book hero, emphasizing the phrase that he always fought in the way he always considers good and sacrificed himself concluding a perfect plan
You're right. 勇者literally mean "people with courage" while "hero" suppose to be the word英雄. They intentionally choose that word as the title for this episodes is due to all the characters die charging toward Zeke or die facing Berthold are aware of their plan is to divert the enemy and they gonna die trying to accomplish their plan, yet they never hesitate after they start charging, they have to overcome the great terror of death 生死间有大恐怖 upon them for them to carry out this plan. They found the courage upon death 生死间有大勇气. They are the people with courge 勇者 to face their own death for a good purpose. So in that sense they are the heroes英雄 at the same times too.
@@jynxce It is not like that, armin gave up his dream without regret, he gave up his dream convincing Eren that everything would be fine (which Erwin would not)
@@jynxce Armin who give up his dream to see the sea and willingly to die here so that Eren can see the sea on his behalf and how is that considered SELFISH in your perspective? Your opinion just not making any sense
Armin entrusting his life, his dreams, everything he ever was to his best friend and being willing to die to ensure that Eren and everyone else will live on to see the ocean for him just hits different, a true Hero.
For me Armin dying here is poetic too: In the past Eren "died" to save Armin, and now Armin would die to save his savior (Eren). Armin the one who was a coward in the beginning died as a brave hero, it's a full circle. He gave up his dreams and died the same way Erwin did. And the show would be even more tragic if Armin died because this is a realistic thing about death in real life: People with a lot of potential dies without showing everything they could have done, it would be good writting in my opinion, I would like both outcomes.

@@Endisfree_ Come on dude it was just a cheap plot twist that Isayama put in the last chapter just for the sake of it. Why would he kill his own mother to motivate himself? Couldn't he just send a message to his past self? Also by keeping Bertholdt alive he's basically responsabile for all the soldiers that died to the colossal titan after the shiganshina attack lol, and why would he do that? So Armin could get burnt to near death and then "resurrected" with constant guilt of not living up other's expectations as an Erwin successor? Why would he put all his friends in a deadly fight (where no one died because of their plot armor being thicker than the armored titan) if he loved them so much? Basically all this "plot twits" shows is that Eren is a sadistic bastard who doesn't care about neither Paradis nor his friends, he just killed 80% of humanity "because he wanted to". Cringe
@@Mikhaii_64 it’s not a cheap plot twist since I personally don’t think it was a plot twist. And it was foreshadowed in ep3 of s4 where Dina passes Bert who is clearly confused about it too since all titans prioritize shifters by instinct. And no he can’t send messages to his past self that was the whole reason why he had to send memories to grisha so his past self could see the future. I agree there was mad plot armor for them but before he connected with ymir he didn’t know the whole future said multiple times. The reason he killed humanity was for his freedom and his friends. The part your talking about where it eren says he just wanted to do it referred to the panel of him being born. I’m sure you know this but he genuinely and selfishly wanted to destroy the world for freedom. Since he believes everyone is born free and the world took him from that. He stopped the rumbling halfway cuz he saw the full future by connecting with the founding titan. So he made the plan to make his friends heroes since he cares for his friends more than his freedom

After the nuclear bombs were dropped on Japan, some people had injuries similar to Armin. Completely burned deeply all over their bodies, yet somehow still alive for a while at least partially. Some were even able to walk and wander around like that (most likely with no awareness or pain) for hours until they finally died. Humans are both incredibly hardy and incredibly fragile.
Honestly, my favorite moment of this episode was when Eren yelled "gotcha" to Bertholdt. It was a callback to the first time they battled in Trost and he said the same thing...only this time, he did get him. On top of that, he didn't need to use his titan abilites...all he needed was Armin's help.

You're right, a completely successful operation would result in the death of Zeke, but he was only neutralized. The plan would've been completely successful were it not for the other Titan swooping in to save him.

RIP Marlo. You too deserve better. Your last thought was about Hitch. ❤️
Yeah it sucks but at least instead of sleeping, Hitch was actually thinking about Marlo too when it showed her looking out of her window waiting for the scouts to return.
Oh, finally this legendary episode. Your reaction didn't disappoint.
We still have Declaration of war 2
They said at the beggining of this season that they got a huge spoiler (Erwin's death) so next episode won't have enough drama I guess.
@@salejrei3564 I saw the reaction to 3x18 on their patreon, it was really good and the spoiler did not ruin it
13:30 I want to talk about this one scene since I think you'll appreciate it. The flowers themselves have gained a lot of different symbolisms over the years, many of which are still applicable here:
The meaning that stands out the most that many fans will point out is the meaning of forsaken or forgotten love, but this is usually the meaning behind red/pink anemones, of which Hitch has none.
👍

Beast titan : How are all those smoke screens/screaming going to help you?

Lol nice upside down F
Buen punto de vista, no lo habia pensado de esa forma :)
Armin wanted to see the sea. He was just as "selfish" in his sacrifice as everyone else. Let's try not to make it more than what it was.

@@Mikhaii_64 not really shit, bertoldt still kicked the wall made debris go onto the house. And we saw before that the smiling titan passed him even though he’s a titan shifter. It would be a plot hole if something else didn’t cause it. Also eren had to keep Bert alive cuz of his role and his moms death motivated his younger self. So I don’t get how it’s “shit” I can understand not liking it tho

The way Name of Love starts playing right after they show Armin’s burned body is too much to handle.
Still sounds better fate than the 30 million people that bill Clinton, bush and Obama genocided in Yemen, lybia, Syria, iraq and afganistan
