did some weird ones in the late 60s to mid 70s but some of them have some really cool ideas in them. Usually its the avant garde films that do have the cooler ideas.
10 out of 10 stars! As a dedicated horror fan of every horror movie ever since the 1930s I cannot believe I let this one get past me. Freaking outstanding!
I am so happy that I’ve just watched 2 Karloff movies I’ve never seen! Both were fantastic and most of my delight is in reading the comments and seeing how well liked Karloff was. Again, though ,it gives me a chance to pitch my challenge.. no betting ( unless that comes later through serious, sober individuals) it is this.. I truly believe I have the most Karloff memorabilia of anyone out there. Seriously, from movie posters and miniatures, my favourite piece is the gurney from Frankenstein..my gf had to assemble it as it is that complicated. Simply ask and I’ll send you a pic. It comes with a blanket, a torch, 2 sets of hands, a backdrop and 3 heads. Any challengers?
The first documented heart surgery performed with a stopped heart was on February 17, 1956. This movie was released on August 17, 1939. Laudable prescience
Indeed. They should have spent less time on the trial and jury deliberations. The deaths of the judge and jury foreman were clever, but using the rifle seemed to indicate that the writers were being rushed and had to use less imagination. In addition to all of that, the movie could have been about ten or so minutes longer.
How did the assistant get the coffin out of his car by himself? Yes, I'm one of those who pick at details. Otherwise, nice twist and superb acting by Karloff.
Yeah, they faded out that part. Also, the instruments were sterilised in the autoclave, but he reaches in with his bare hands, defeating the purpose.5:54
Another Gem. "The Body Snatcher", has Boris supplying a doctor with cadavers for study. But people aren't dying fast enough. Boris has to help. Bela lugosi tries to blackmail Boris; bad idea, Bela.
Thank you, another Fantastic Boris Karloff film, in perfect quality with great sound! Did he make any bad films? 😉 He would still be good in a bad film. I haven't gone to see a new movie in about 12 years, there's no quality now. Everything is computer generated, there's no suspense, no intrigue, no talent. I don't even know who most of the "famous" people are. (Well, maybe comedians, but that's different, & still just from RUclips) 😅❤
The character played by Mr. Karloff is the symbol of human madness in its obsession with eternal life, meaning the perpetuation of the illusion of self
A great variation on the standard Nihilist speech at 55:40, Karloff plays a wronged man who wants to burn the world but save his daughter. His revenge isn't cold at all, it's white hot.
I love every film Mr. Karloff was in; especially the early ones. He was an amazing actor, with a wide range. May his memory be a blessing.
YES, I LOVE Karloff myself.
A true legend!❤
Me too! ❤️
Boris: Amen 🙏

Boris Karloff should have won several Academy Awards.

Nobody but Boris Karloff could show the fine line between well-meaning humanitarian and evil genius! A master of his craft! 👏
Peter Cushing
Yes ,both of them the best actors in the genre.
Thank you for sharing this excellent movie by Boris Karloff who is a great actor.
It's a shame that Karloff had to be saddled with so many hams in this vehicle, yet he managed to transcend all that...bravo.
Boris Karloff is the 💣💥💣 He is amazing
I never seen this AWSOME movie with Boris karloff ! Thank you ever so much for sharing this Treasure! Love The Wonderful Actor Boris ❤️
So good. Thank you for the upload. Karloff is awesome. And the dialogue is good and insane at the same time. Love it

This has elements almost directly lifted from 'The 9th Guest' in 1934.
Thumbs, WAY UP.
Bring’s back old memories. Always a thrill to watch Boris Karloff, thanks for sharing
This movie was ahead of its time; now we are in the world of organ transplants.

A superb actor and a truly gentle gentleman.
real name William Pratt .. he invented the greatest stage name .. but I love his speaking voice .. so gentle and reasuring
"Speaking voice"? What other kind of voice is there?🤔
Thank you. 👍👍
This, "The Black Room, and "The Body Snatcher", were certainly among his greatest roles, even more than, "The Monster"!!!
A really good film !! A real sleeper.
I have seen most of Boris Karloff movies. But not this one. Marvelous plot, back from the dead. 🎉😊
Unfortunately the movie disappointed, not having more of the guests murdered That's the purpose of these movies! KARLOFF excellent as always !

"They're going to delete you."
"They're just putting me under anesthetic."
"If this anesthetic works on someone who's been deleted,..."
"Wait, what?"
Truly a movie that explains mankind.

I love how Boris Karloff is haunting them in the Judge's house.
Umm... It was Dr. Savaard's house.🙄
His hair line is 💥💥🔥👍🏽👍🏽
Another Gem. "The Body Snatcher", has Boris supplying a doctor with cadavers for study.
But people aren't dying fast enough.
Boris has to help.
Bela lugosi tries to blackmail Boris; bad idea, Bela.
A Great 🎥,like The 9th Guest🙂
Excellent A++
How prophetic this movie was, as far as advancements in medical technology.

After the success, doesn't exist place for the hate ❤
Hmm?🤔
Karloff was the master of horror. He was creepy.
Ion understand his fiancé.. he clearly volunteered then she runs to the police 🤨 just foolishness 👎🏽👎🏽
ボリス・カーロフ!
ならばもはや問答無用ッ!
You got that right.
Boris: Awesome 😎

I wonder if anyone else noticed the satanic symbol inside the autoclave lid.5:47
Sounded like Hume Cronyn's voice.
"Idiots!"
Boris the horror god
B & W gem
Klassic Karloff
Fun and silly as hell.
One of those guys sounds like James Arness, could be wrong
Yet not above the law of crime...
Yep, sounds like modern surgical thinking alright
