- Опубликовано: 3 янв 2022
- Corsair MP600 is a PCIE4.0 SSD drive with advertised read speeds of upto 4950 mb/s and write speeds of upto 4250 mm/s. After some 8 months of usage had already dropped in performance to about half advertised, well that should have been taken as a warning of worse to come as one of the two 1tb MP600 drives in my system FAILED within a few hours of first showing warning signs. Find out why you NEED TO BACK UP YOUR MP600 DRIVES ASAP because when you first get a warning you may not have much time left to start backing up as transfer speeds drop! It also illustrates why it's wise to have multple drives in case one fails.

I found your vid while Googling. I have an MP600 1TB, it started failing a yr ago in July 2021 when in was 2 yrs old. Now in July 2022 two hard drive programs report that it is down to just 22% life left and 45 days till it croaks. With so many people here reporting stories just like this, I hate it when I buy shit.
Your lucky, your getting plenty of warning signs, usually when they go they go FAST!
@@Quantum_AI_Tech 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Gigabyte AORUS 1tb last exactly 12 months. Drive health said 99%. Got two blue screens before it disappeared in the bios. Still shows on device manager but nowhere else.
I have 2 mp600 core 1tb . Bought them a year ago, just took them out to use in a build the other day. One doesn't even show the firmware just shows jmicron in corsair's ssd tools, drive can't be accessed in gparted or win 10. Other one again shows no firmware in ssd toolbox, has access errors trying to format in gparted, but let me format it in win 10. Have a 2tb mp600 core (bought at same time, just used last week) as my Arch linux drive and it works fine.
My MP600 2TB has a similar issue, every few months for a few days at a time the MP600 will vanish from the motherboard while the PC is on. Everything slowly freezes and hangs up on the desktop and various open apps. Anything open in memory works for a few minutes more before the machine locks itself up with no drive to access and eventually I have to reboot. The disk may or may not appear in the bios and often the machine must have its AC removed for a real powerdown.
Then this issue goes away for a few months, then comes back (Like now). I've ordered a CT2000P5PSSD8 to replace it, glad I take daily snapshots to the nas so this isn't a huge deal to me.
If it's vanishing then that is early warning of failure, also if the drive slows down, and your windows takes longer to boot.
@@Quantum_AI_Tech Yep I ended up returning it and getting a CT2000P5PSSD8 to continue my desktop with.
Well explained. I experienced exactly the same things that you mentioned.
Wow, I just had my boot drive fail just like this and I had been having random crashes that I thought were due to the ram, I never connected them to the nvme failing.
brother had an MP510 failing, I have the same drive, now I'm worried about it lol
I faced it with Samsung 970 Evo Plus!!! Luckily it gave a warning while it is kinda working.
I just had a similar problem with a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB. I kind of expected these things to be more reliable, and had started troubleshooting every thing else but the M.2 drive. After installing a brand new board and getting the same crash error, I then isolated the problem to the M.2 This thing is not that old, perhaps a year or two. Perhaps I will try another brand.
M2 are LESS reliable than SSD's.
Man !!!! I'm having the same issue right now. My PC is only about 1 year old and last night I got blue screens. Never had a hard drive fail on me before. Luckily, I save all my homework and personal file on OneDrive. This really sucks. I thought these types of drives (PCIE, M.2) were more reliable than the older SSD. I guess not. I'm losing two days of work on my desktop PC because of this. Trying to catch up on the laptop.
In the same boat you are got a force nvme 2 that just hangs up seeing this makes sense the drive is crashing failing. No wonder all the issues I tried to do didn't fix it. It works for like 2days then hangs up. Guess i gotta buy an ssd thats not corsair and nvme lol. Lasted only 1yr gg.
23 months in and my MP600 died. 0/10 corsair never again
I had a crash yesterday with the MP600 PRO XT and now I am getting an error while booting up saying Hard drive failure imminent.
The drive is only 2 weeks old and I’ve barely used it.
mine crash yesterday too, although not sure if it’s actually mobo or the corsair pro lpx. It was the second day of use and it crashed… tried everything and couldn’t make it to work, mobo wasn’t detecting and monitor was displaying “no media presence” and took me to bios all the time. But luckily I can still return it
I've had my new pc rebooting randomly off and on for about a yr now and finally got the blue screen of death today with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.. after rebooting it will only go into bios and shows my corsair M.2 drive not installed?? will try to reinstall windows on my local ssd and see if that works, hopefully nothing wrong with my mobo..
These drives cannot trade sustained writing to i.e. as a data drive though should be fine as a system drive i.e. that do not have a lot of writes, put your swap file on another drive.
@@Quantum_AI_Tech ic.. I've been dwld huge bluray files then transferring them to a mass storage drive from the get go,,, lesson learned, thnx for the tip
it has fried my mobo too!! recently purchased a samsung evo pro M.2 and it would not detect so purchased another exact same mobo and that would not detect the corsair M.2 but it would detect the Samsung evo.. I noticed with the samsung installed everything is running a lot smoother too.. no spikes in gpu temps, no sudden reboots and .rar files unpack 100x faster than before 😁
Just had a Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVMe die on me as I was watching a RUclips video… my system just went ‘pop’, restarted, and then the SSD was no longer recognized by my laptop :(
Lesson for the future and anyone else reading this is to make a clone copy of your system drive onto a cheap SSD just in case SHTF. My backup is that plus a laptop.
I think it's on purpose now lol my corsair MP600 force series is also 6 months and died now waiting for replacement is there any way to get the data /files back tho? Spent 200$ for a shit that doesn't lasts long
I tried, bought one of those M2 enclosures to see if I can access it that way over USB, nope, when it goes, it goes fast, lesson learned, have it set to backup to a mechnical hard drive.
@@Quantum_AI_Tech I'm regretting that i buy this shit 🤣 now waiting for replacement i hope that they replace it that will last long the local store that i bought from only offers 1 year warranty
@@Quantum_AI_Tech hey is your 2nd mp600 corsair still working? Or it failed too? How old is it too?
It's only been a couple of months, Yeh, working, but under less load than before i.e. some activities are done on mechanical drives now rather than the MP600, don't trust it much. one early sign of failure could be temp, so may a note of your drives idle temp, then if it goes up for no reason by say 3 or 4 degrees then that could be a sign of impeding failure.
@@Quantum_AI_Tech comment here if your second mp600 died I'll never ever buy storage from corsair again
I had to force a shutdown last night, and my PC will only boot into bios. Doesn't detect my m.2 at all. Can't tell if it's toast or not...all my data.
It's toast, when they go they are gone!
@@Quantum_AI_Tech Thanks for the reply.
My mp600 died too.
exact same drive here I think, Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 1TB. crashed on xmas eve with a wierd critical error. reset PC, same problem saying it can't access the drive. I did a complete power down and restart, it came up no problem, no errors...strange, it just crashed.about 20 hours later on xmas day, same exact problem. event viewer showed a block error on this drive the first failure, event viewer showed NOTHING the 2nd time,
I'm now copying data and about to clone it before its completely fried. THIS was the drive I spent some money on, all my cheap drives are still working great. I bought this specifically for OS so that figures...its fully updated, firmware and everything and shows no errors on any disk check i perform...I've been using it almost exactly 18 months...
Yeh, it's garbage, one thought by paying DOUBLE one was going to get protected instead this peace of turd is less reliable than a 5 year old drive off ebay!
@@Quantum_AI_Tech the 'uptime' got less and less until it finally died BEFORE I could get a full clone...70% crash, 40% crash, 30% crash and now...nothing. POS. Last corsair drive I'll ever buy...
Same here today. With Crucial m.2 ssd !
Stop buying Corsair RAMs and Storage devices, but PSU, they are all craps.
my always gave me problens, as far as broken my others hard drives... so much for the corsair brand, better to buy chinese ganeric !!!
exact same issue will not use corsair again
NVME2's suck.
I have same problem MANY just stopp, "s.m.a.r.t" says all good , but pc random boot. i have hadde 30 drives fail....
To find if drive is falining download hdsentinel , and run : "self test 2min"
(IGNORE that text that show all is good, it's NOT)
Look at the hex number is the test window, if it show just : 0xFF or 0xFFFF then it fails. (1 number)
if it's good it willshow: 0x43 0x65 0x45 0x55 (4 numbers.)
THE text in hdsentinel says "every things is good" even if its NOT.
Yeh SMART is shit when comes to NVME2 drives, means all of the testing tools are garbage. Will check out your method and see if it's worth doing a video to better help others. Best.
Seeing this im a bit nervous as i bought this one and its the only drive i got on my new system...
Only had it for 2 months so far though
@@badloops80 my mp600 died after 6months same with this guy posted this video now i'm still waiting for replacement i've been waiting for 2 months for this god damn replacement shit never gonna buy to corsair again!
i had a mp600 2t fail within 24hours
same! I had the mp600 pro lpx, same thing happened
99%Critical damage WD SN810🤦🏻, near a year of use
i bought 2 seagate firecuda 530's both 2tb and 1 of them only showed up in bios and nowhere else so i have send it back and hope that the replacement does work 😂
These fast NVME2 drives are feeble tech, not made to last. Not worth the price tag!
1 of mine failed when I bought it early 2021. Only had it for 3 months, lost all data not detected by bios and was sudden 💀. Got a replacement in like June, and I think mine is stuttering in games and about to fail again. The design of these things are fucking shit.
Any warning signs such as slow to boot to windows or slow access than BACK UP your important data first asap cos these buggers go fast! Good old mechanical drives usual tend to die a slow death with bad sectors and blocks, i.e. can take as long as a year to die! not NVME drives, they go FAST!
@@Quantum_AI_Tech Nope woke up and it died.
just hade the exact same scenario with my corsair MP600 Gen4 PCie... i have only had it for a few month's... just woke up saw that my computer had booted in to my second disk who has windows 7 on it and rebooted. got into win 10 but froze sone after start and got the same error messege as you had on the bluescreen... booted again worked a few min's and then i got blue screen again and now it cant be found at all... had the same problem when i installed it that it was a hell for my computer to even find it so i still got some hope that i might be able to copy the files from it at a computer repairshop on monday... got i hope so since i have alot of schoolstuff on that disk. :/
Quality control sucks, backup dude, cos once it goes it goes fast!
@@Quantum_AI_Tech Yeh was to the repairshop today and atleast it showed up on their system but as sone they put any load on it at all like trying to get to any of the files it just went dark and they could not do anything about it. so annoying tho since i counted and its been in my computer for less then 4 months... buyed it last year when i won some money on casino but did not installed in untill september this year since i had no time or any real need to install it. so less then 4 months active... Funny is that my old agility4 ssd who has been with me in 4 computers and is from jun 2006 bootet up my old windows 7 with no problem at all... xD
mine MP600 died after 1 year lost everything cant recover the data unless i have to pay thousands for data recovery :( will never ever buy corsair ever again lesson learned
This happened to me today. I will get a replacement from Amazon. But i am afraid will happen again. Also if it happens again i will ask for a refund and get different brand.
