When I first heard they were bringing back Danger Mouse without David Jason my heart sank. But then I found out Alexander Armstrong was doing it (with Kevin Eldon and Stephen Fry) I felt a lot happier about it. And he was brilliant in it.
Ahhh Princess Zander of Armstrong…..used to work with him years ago was so much fun. I bet when he reads to his kids he does all the voices all the time.
Zander Armstrong you have peaked, there can be no better compliment given to you in the U.K. than being compared to the great Sir Terry Wogan. You are officially an institution . 🤣🤣🤣
What a thrill to hear Martin Bain-Jones again! To this day, I find myself wondering about the fate of that enigmatic indie band "Atering-Catering-Cat"...
22:08 It's a similar problem here in Mérida, Extremadura. It's a Roman UNESCO complex, so beneath the city is a ton of Roman artefacts. Planning permission for anything is difficult because someone inevitably unearths something historic.
Im led to believe Alexander and myself used to play together as toddlers when my family visited the doctors in his hometown (where we had a holiday cottage and spent every summer). Is it true? I cant remember, it was over 50 years ago, but he is a very talented entertainer so I hope is is true.
10:37 "and I keep meaning to ask him" Well, bloody do it then. The man is not getting any younger. Speaking of which, David Attenborough is obviously on the top of my (incomplete) wishlist for 2025 interviewees. Followed by*: Sandi Toksvig, Daniel Radcliff, Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Cariad Lloyd, David Letterman, James May, Alice Lavine, Brian Blessed, Daliso Chaponda, Eddie Izzard, Emmanuel Sonubi, Frankie Boyle, Bill Burr, Holly Walsh, Noel Fielding, Phill Jupitus, Tim Minchin, Victoria Coren Mitchell, Trevor Noah *not necessarily in that order, I'd be happy with any of them
Have you guys listened to the Video Archives podcast with Quainton Tarantino? They spent an a fair bit of one episode recently going on any Bulldog Drummond
Brydon is right to bang on about the need for Armstrong to do more comedic/dramatic work as opposed to quiz show work: he's wasted on Richard Osman-tainted bilge like Pointless. Armstrong is brilliantly funny when he finds the right role: I think my favourite was his Sir Clive Sinclair in Micro Men, which you can still find in full on RUclips.
He's the greatest, he's fantastic, wherever there is danger he'll be there...... great voice work!
That was fabulous. Alexander Armstrong is such a talent and the series where he explores the hidden world of Rome is well worth looking out.
Glorious coupling, witty and interesting 😊
I wish he'd do more comedy. Armstrong and Miller was really good - especially the Blue Peter scandal spoofs.
I loved the WW2 Pilots skits
@@paleochora Yeah and the cavemen origin of.....sketches. They did a lot of good stuff. I'm going to have to watch some of these again now!
I find Alexander very personable and easy going. Lovely voice and nature. I enjoy his presenting HIGNFY too.😊
That was another fantastic interview or buddy chats 🎉
Bloody superb. Just so much talent in the UK.

Massive talent and so grounded!
What a thoroughly likeable fella!
I first saw Pointless on a ski trip too… was wild seeing as I was at uni with them both and had no idea
And it was very soothing to listen to this, I'm ready for bed again.
I find them both very pleasant :)
3:33 William Hague? I thought that was Borat 😂 😂 Great show!
I heard Borat too, not too far from Hague tbf.
I never tire of hearing Ronnie Corbett (channelled through Rob). 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Totally thrown by Ronnie C impersonation. Where did that come from?

Really enjoying watching so funny.

The word to describe his optimistic personality is sanguine.
Yes a well chosen adjective to describe his reckless optimism.
Says who?
@@NeungView Well, any dictionary.

For some reason Atering-Catering-Cat permanently lodged in my mind too :-)
Lovely guy - must not read the news or follow current affairs to remain that happy, good on him.

"Hey Duggee" is a tour-de-force (woof-woof-woof).

Warning might contain accents
My comedy channel Resolution Radio 2020 contains me doing accents. Should I include a warning?

Shame his career became so pointless.
