  • This year we are continuing to try out more categorized lists than previous years: Top Craft, Top Rare & Limited, Top More Accessible Bourbons, Top Ryes, Top Finished Whiskey, American Whiskey/Not Whiskey, 'Everyday' Bourbon, and Top Single Barrels/Store Picks. My hope is you find a brand new to you, or a new suggestion worth checking out.
While a lot of my picks were limited to ones we got in through Seelbach's, there were some fantastic store picks this year that show you not every good bottle is a unicorn hunt. While it might be difficult to acquire THESE picks, the goal in this video is to show you that having a connection to stores or group in your local area or while traveling can provide a wealth of great-tasting bottles throughout the year without the hunt, the time commitment, and without the huge price tag.
This list is obviously my opinion only - but I would love to hear what some of your favorite single barrels or picks have been down in the comments.

Again great list I’m a big pursuit fan in Ohio they are selling their rye for 38 regularly 64. So I buy one every time I go to the store.

I got to pick a new riff single barrel for a local store. Obviously bias but I love it. It holds up in blinds to big names. The state of WV picked a camo Nelson -F Russel’s that’s strait magic. Bought two backups And that 063 was a flavor bomb! Love that I have that bottle. Hate I left it out of my bourbon of the year bracket.

That Jimmy Red is ridiculous. The Altschuler's are fantastic as well. My number 1 this year was the Seelbach"s 15yr batch 1. Just a phenomenal release, closely followed by the Pinhook vertical releases, all bangers. 2025 gonna be good year.

@@richardheusted I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store. Several people I’ve tasted with had the Seelbach’s 15 high in our end of year list.

@ Batch 2 is incredible, might be the smoothest whiskey at 120+ proof I’ve had. Like budda. Fruity, sweet, whiskey shouldn’t be this good. No hug at this proof, fruit roll up vibe, like a late EHT 4G good. Wonderful job to whom picked this barrell.

Great video! When you talked about the peerless products on line, it was said that in a blind it could be compared to a heritage product! Can you explain what that means? Thanks for your time!

As for single barrels go, I haven’t branched out too much beyond my regular brand single barrels. The top single barrels for me are a 9 year Knob Creek rye pick from Kroger, an 11 Knob Creek pick from Cox’s/Evergreen and a 10 year hazmat from Wood Hat Distillery. So good, and rich
