Yes Sailor Cosmos is Sailor Moon's ultimate future form. I theorise that since Neo Queen Serenity couldn't die (seeing as her star seed is eternal), she transcended into her Cosmos form and abdicated the throne to Chibi-Usa. After which she led the war against Sailor Chaos until the destruction of Crystal Tokyo. Later we see Sailor Cosmos standing on the ruins of the Crystal palace implying that, The fall of Crystal Tokyo was "a price too high to pay" which prompted her to change history.

@shadaviagoodwin7678 Because the existence of Guardian Cosmos, the change of the dango shape, and the issues of time travel with the ginzuishou we have precedent for in prior arcs all indicate a separate person for Sailor Cosmos and Sailor Moon/Usagi, in my opinion. It's been my opinion from the beginning and I'm basing that on the texts that exist. But it's meant to be unclear anyway.
I'm so glad someone made a video about her. Sailor Cosmos left an impression on me ever since I first read the Sailor Moon manga many years ago. There's not enough Sailor Moon content creators that dives into characters and the story.

There's a lot of things that people don't know about, including all of the connections to mythologies, astronomy, and astrology that's in the Sailor Moon lore and characters. There could also be more discussions on the story, characters, and powers. I feel like not enough people know about the connections between mythology, astrology, and the characters' powers. There could be discussions/analysis on the legacy of the franchise. There's more to Sailor Moon than just the manga, and two anime series. There's a live action series, musicals, other events related to the franchise that there's not many discussions about. It feels like other series, including less well-known franchises that ended decades ago, have more discussions about them than Sailor Moon, one of the biggest anime franchises in the world on RUclips and online in general.

Okay, so the 90s anime and the manga(Crystal, too) have different versions of Sailor Cosmos. In the 90s anime, Sailor Cosmos isn't explicitly stated to be Sailor Cosmos, but you can tell based on the silhouette of her. Chibi-Chibi is the Light of Hope, and still Sailor Cosmos, but instead of being a future Sailor Moon, she's the original star seed of Sailor Galaxia. I just wanted to make sure everyone understood that there was a difference, and that she appeared (although not explicitly stated) in the 90s anime.

given that chibiusa has been borrowing the silver crystal, then eventually gained her own pink moon crystal, it's possible that usagi too has been borrowing the silver crystal all along. the crystal's true owner is queen serenity and she just passed the crystal to princess serenity/usagi. usagi's real crystal is the cosmos crystal and she will eventually use it and will become sailor cosmos. cosmos crystal is the strongest of all, that's why sailor cosmos doubts she deserves the title because she cannot defeat sailor chaos by using the cosmos crystal. maybe she thinks she should have just used the silver crystal, as she seemed stronger and more determined back then as eternal sailor moon.
A fun little theory is that Chibiusa chose to be Sailor Moon. That she could have instead embrace her father's side with Earth powers. But she was raised on Sailor Moon stories. And in that future Usgai had stepped down and became Neo Queen Serenity. Afterwards she was unable to transform anymore. So Chibiusa took her place in a way until she could manifest her own powers.

Sailorcosmos is a depressed variant of sailormoon in the very far future. What haopened in the movie is a paradox of what usagi and neo queen serenity did in the s3 arc. Meddling with time has its effects...

Given all the time travel restrictions about two versions of the same person not being able to exist in the same time period, how chibi-chibi was around Usagi for a long period of time without starting to vanish, the fact that cosmos has a starburst symbol on her forehead as opposed to a crescent moon, different odango shapes, the fact that it's stated Neo-Queen Serenity lost her ability to become a senshi when she became queen and chibi-usa took up the mantle of Sailor Moon... I don't believe Cosmos is Usagi, but rather a descendant of hers. While the english translation of Cosmos's dialogue about her actual identity is technically correct... the japanese dialogue is a bit more ambiguous, which unfortunately gets lost in translation. Her dialogue in english makes it seem pretty clear that she's talking about herself fighting chaos in the past... Japanese dialogue... As the only crystal clear thing about who Cosmos is being that she's the future form of sailor moon, her dialogue is a bit more... is she talking about herself in the past or is she just talking about the sailor moon of the past? Given all the vagueness and ambiguity, I'm not even sure Naoko Takeuchi knows if Usagi is Cosmos or not.
But we know they can coexist at the same time, since Usagi actually meets face to face with Neo Queen Serenity at the end of the black moon arc and nothing happened
@ that was a brief meeting at the end of the black moon arc. Whereas earlier in that same arc sailor moon started to fade away from being around neo-queen serenity from too long and king Endymion ushered them quickly back to the past before she faded away completely. So sure, they can coexist for short periods of time, but not for the length of time Chibi-chibi was around usagi.
@@grimthanatos7350 it is a split timeline. Neo Queen Serenity is not from the same timeline as the one we watch. The second they interact with eachother through Rini is when it all changed. That is why the Queen is so confused so much about the past. As for her not being able to transform? It is more that she is holding the peace of that time. To much of her power is going into that, kind of like a sacrifice, which left her weakened. Which is also why Rini never aged at first, until she became a Salior scout herself and found her own power to overcome her mother's. The Sailor Moon we are watching is going to have a very different story, and that is where Cosmos comes in. But again, a split timeline happens because our Sailor moon chooses a different path in the end. But eventually the ultimate form of chaos will happen and Rini will be born. But now Sailor Moon will have her friends with her. Hopefully. Also for both Cosmos and Sailor Moon not fading away? Sailor Cosmos is her most powerful form and has complete control over time and space. And why her loosing was completely devastating to her. But she has lost everything and everyone by that point. Sailor Moon and her love of her friends and family are qhat gives her her strength. Cosmos and Chao are the to most powerful things in the galaxy. Or at least in that solar system.
I think that Usagi and Cosmos are the same person, but with totally different attitudes and behaviors. Probably Cosmos an "old" version of Usagi, I mean, Usagi is young, while Neo Queen Serenity tries to remember herself in the past, but here Cosmos ... she's depressed. She felt hopeless and for my opinion, it seems she has "lost" or better, "forgot" the real Usagi that she was. The circle is full and completed, because it seems that Cosmos chose the option to "reverse the past" and travel into the past itself, despite all that the old version of the anime told us (travelling in time is dangerous).New Queen Serenity is eternal, Sailor Moon eternal herself cannot die anymore, and in a far, far future, she would become Cosmos, with all the hopeless behavior and the negativity and the frustration she had inside herself. In this way Small Lady Chibiusa would be the New Queen with Quartets to protect her. The fact the Crystal Tokyo would collapse in the future and Cosmos is remembering it, takes me to think that Cosmos felt the urgency to take the "dangerous road" to travel in the past and try to protect herself and Tokyo. At the end, probably, it seems that Usagi and Cosmos aren't the same person, and maybe this is right. They are the same, but at the same time, they aren't.

I disagree she's Usagi. "The me of here" can also refer to the mantle. The only confirmed detail is that she is the result of "Lamda power". So for example, when Spider-man says that Miles Morales is the "Me of Earth 1610" That does not mean Peter Parker is Miles Morales. It means the mantle, "Spider-Man" was passed on. It's indicated that Sailor Chibimoon will take over the mantle of Sailor Moon. And Sailor Chibimoon flatly says that she doesn't think Sailor Cosmos is her daughter or anyone closely related to her because she would "know." This throws out Usagi and also a direct descendant. Plus you have issues like the styling, hair color, eye color, and Sailor Chibichibi don't resemble Sailor Moon or Usagi. And Mamoru ends with the lines about how Usagi is the best Sailor Moon ever. For this tah-keh-oo-chee nah-oh-koh (which was butchered in pronunciation) has not said anything and when flat out asked, would not answer the question. The most she will give in the Materials Collection or in interviews is "She is the result of Lamda Power" letting fan speculation run wild. Even when directly asked, she refuses patently to answer. She was asked if she's Usagi once and she refused to answer. (Good move, by the way). Since it's a far flung future, it's likely Usagi's descendant far, far into the future. You also have to kinda understand that the last arc is heavily, heavily influenced by Leiji Matsumoto, so if you watch the old anime Galaxy 999, this would give heavy clues as to what Takeuchi-sensei was trying to accomplish. But I kinda feel you need Japanese for the finer details of this since most theorists depend heavily on the English rather than the Japanese original. There is a lot more leeway in Japanese than in English since Japanese is more contextual.

Some reason when the Tokyopop manga came out. I always thought that Sailor Cosmos was the Usagi that failed to stop Chaos due to depression and losing her emotional support. Actually ran away from the fight and hence why the battle continued for eons and her finally reaching to Cosmos status. But since she wanted to changed that future she came back in time to give Usagi that emotional support she needed to finish the Chaos fight no knowing if it would destroy everything or not.

Amazing editing on this + wonderful analysis on her as well! The theme of her seemingly losing the will to not only fight but also live but eventually finding hope again through her past self has always touched me ever since I first read the manga. The message of "I was strong then and I am strong now." to keep going is one that I wish the fandom appreciated more because it's so beautiful :') To any Cosmos fans: the Le Mouvement Final musical that has her in it is both great and further 'hints' (or at least imo, just reconfirms) who she is as well. She talks to Chibiusa in it instead of the quartet and it's sooo good!! Highly recommend watching!
The ending of cosmos and her telling her story made me ball my eyes out. It shows that after all of her evolution and growth throughout the centuries of her existence, she still retains the essence of usagi. It made the reason why sailor moon exists make sense. It made me love this story and legacy even more. It’s so deep. Blessings upon blessings to the creator of this character and story. She has been a part of my life and others and has always given me hope. 🥹❤️🙏🏼

I think it'd be awesome if Sailor Cosmos was actually the ORIGINAL QUEEN SERENITY, Princess Serenity's Mom, reincarnated as a Sailor Senshi. But I know popular belief is that Sailor Cosmos is a form of Usagi/Sailor Moon from a far distant future.
Loved this, finally she gets her own sailor cosmos. I am glad they stayed true to the books, but it's like what Queen Serenity said light attracts darkness and darkness attracts the light. Without Sailor Chaos, there wouldn't be Sailor Cosmos. They both were drawn to each other.
Very nice video. I think if SM should ever continue it should be showing Sailor Cosmos war against Sailor Chaos and then when she returns to her timeline, hand off the series to the adult Small Lady Serenity as she makes a new earth and becomes the next Queen. Then let Sailor Cosmos either pass on her power or get rid of it somehow and find peace in death so she could be with all her beloved people again.

Well, given that everyone in Crystal tokyo reach the age of 1000 like king and queen, i would say cosmos is a reincarnation of sailor moon, like usagi was of serenity, but she also can remember when she was eternal sailor moon like usagi can remember she was serenity, because like usagi was different a bit from serenity (like clumsy and she wasn't able to ice skat like serenity) so was cosmoa not able to ne brave and hopeful like eternal sailor moon. But it seems like a curse, that she remembers all her past life, which also would explain why shw felt tired and sad fighting as cosmos
I don‘t know why when she senses Chaos gaining power she doesn‘t just travel to the Cauldron and bop it on the head with her staff like those gopher games. So it stays there and has to go through its regeneration cycle again. Never really becoming a problem. 🤷🏼♀️

@@TheSilverCrystal so I’m currently going to school for music production, part of my degree program I’m learning how to edit and mix sounds vocals and music for all forms of production, including television, and movies What I love about Sailor Moon crystal and the new English dub from VIZ is that it’s more accurate to the original story .. what I absolutely hate about it is that they did not include their original voices from the original 90s dub by DIC .. I’ve had an idea for a long time to take the audio files from the new dub from VIZ, and then use AI, essentially do an AI cover with the old voices, but with the new updated script… so we can have the raw uncut version. We always wanted, but with the original voices, the original fans crave.
That sounds absolutely GENUIS! I also have thought about taking the remastered Viz and putting the old DiC voices over it. I’m actually positive I will do that as a personal project sooner than later. Yes, I’m going to eventually make a video on why the 90’s music is sooo iconic. Hmm so I recall Neo-Queen Serenity was able to find something similar to the fountain of youth and immortality which explains why they can live so long and not age. I wish the Sailor moon arc was picked up and continued. It would be nice to know how the hierarchy of Sailor Scouts worked. Based on the materials released I always assumed a Sailor Scout retired once they became Queen and the duties of a Sailor Soldier was passed down to the next generation of princesses just like with Sailor Chibi Moon. Since Sailor Cosmos is a version of Sailor Moon from the far future, what changed her title to Cosmos from Moon. I would think there is a system where sailor soldiers could get promoted in ranks beyond their respective planets and solar system. We have this with Sailor Galaxia who doesn’t take on the name of her homeworld and for a brief period ruled a large portion of the Milky Way galaxy. It would be nice to see if this is how the order worked.

Cosmos is Sailor Moon/Eternal/Usagi from a far distant future. She returned to alter the past but realized she didn't need to. She was simply reminded by her past self to accept the consequences that shaped her into who she is now.

Are you talking about a scene from the Black Moon arc - when Neo Queen Serenity is encased in Silver Crystal and all the other senshi’s bodies are seen laying on stone slabs?
@@TheSilverCrystal In the cosmos movie part 2, in the 30th Century, where Chibiusa sees all the senshi laying down with crystals shining, but fading away, including Pluto. All their outfits are in super form, not eternal form. Does it mean those senshi didn't experience the upgrade from the battle against Nehelenia?
@wainamng6739 When we were first shown the future Pluto was reporting to Neo Queen Serenity that abnormal phenomena is occurring in the past causing history to alter. Later Chibiusa was trying to ask her mother to go back to the past and was dismissed, NQS was shown to have her 'Eternal Tiare', the wand she uses as Eternal Sailor Moon. The girls appeared in their previous forms due to Chaos and Galaxia interference in past/present. They were screwing with the timeline, history was becoming undone.

While future and past interactions (in regard to changing the timeline or not) are a disputed thing, and with no factual evidence either which way - I believe, yes, the Sailor Moon we see now will eventually do exactly as Cosmos did here. I believe this, rather than a different possible future, because of the extremely strong use of FATE in the series. That will be her fate. Just as meeting and falling in love with Mamo, standing with these particular friends as fellow soldiers, and being the incredible leader she is, is all Usagi’s fate.
Yes, cuz if we watching the entire series and know that Naoko Takeuchi only use 1 timeline to write the story about SailorMoon, to the moment she was a princess living on the Moon and Died to Reborn on Earth, then Usagi is Born and become the soldiers of the moon and will become queen of the earth with mamoru in the future and far after that become the Goddess of Cosmos, then your question have answer yes Usagi we know will grow up and changed, Cosmos is none other than Usagi herself, but she has changed and become the old woman, very - very old woman, still Usagi but not Usagi we remember anymore and that's the Saddest Truth we have to embrace in her

Because Sailor Cosmos has it rough to be in a constant battle with chaos she went back to the one point where it could’ve been changed but saw the error in that… now I have new questions 😅 1. Where is Chibiusa in the future? Also, this is more of an observation but it seems like the other sailor guardians have been offed in the future, and Mamaru … :(
I dont think Sailor Cosmos is directly a, elder iteration of Sailor Moon. Hear me out. Queen Serenity of the Original Moom Kingdom has the Star symbol on her forehead as well as the brooch on her chest. Princess Serinity has always had Mooms as her symbol. This is the reason i think Queen Serinity is Sailor Cosmos as stars aren't specific to one place or object and are all over the cosmos. The Moon of Princess Serinity ie Sailor Moon is specific to the Moon. Sailor Cosmos also has the exact same hair color as Queen Serinity. Just my 2 cents lol
Well, technically it’s opening to interpretation - we really DON’T know for a FACT any which way. In my VERY STRONG opinion, Sailor Cosmos is definitely the current Usagi but in like, millennia (or much farther) into the future.

I always believed that Cosmos isn't Sailor Moon directly, but like an alternate version of her. Simply because Sailor Moon and Sailor Cosmos touch, multiple times, which would have imploded time ans space (like with Neo Queen Serenity and Sailor Moon). But maybe Naoko forgot this fact when bringing Cosmos to the table lol
@@divadeepcuts I had a similar thought! I got that idea because Sailor Chaos is supposed to be the ultimate form of Chaos, so why not have the ultimate form of good in Sailor Cosmos! And of course Cosmos looks so much like Sailor Moon because Sailor Moon would make up the majority of all things good and pure.

And no one thought about that Sailor Cosmos is the true enemy of the story because of wanting to eradicate all existence of the sailor guardians haha It's a Japanese theme in almost all anime. All the villains in big anime series have the same mindset, they want to stop the suffering by either controlling them or ending them. Lmao. And always the moral of the story in japanese theme is to let life continue whether it be good or bad. ❤

I love sailor moon but how can shee be Sailor Cosmos in the future if she also has a Future of being Neo queen serenity which has no traces of being sailor cosmos. I'm just confused. In her Past, Far Future Usagi jumped at the cauldron to sacrifice herself making her Sailor Cosmos.. If this happens, then there is no future that makes her Neo Queen Serenity.
She came from the future to destroy Chaos but watching her pass self sort of weaken Chaos at most. Yes Sailor Cosmos is Sailor Moon's ultimate future form. I theorise that since Neo Queen Serenity couldn't die (seeing as her star seed is eternal), she transcended into her Cosmos form and abdicated the throne to Chibi-Usa. After which she led the war against Sailor Chaos until the destruction of Crystal Tokyo. Later we see Sailor Cosmos standing on the ruins of the Crystal palace implying that, The fall of Crystal Tokyo was "a price too high to pay" which prompted her to change history.

@shadaviagoodwin7678 Because the existence of Guardian Cosmos, the change of the dango shape, and the issues of time travel with the ginzuishou we have precedent for in prior arcs all indicate a separate person for Sailor Cosmos and Sailor Moon/Usagi, in my opinion. It's been my opinion from the beginning and I'm basing that on the texts that exist. But it's meant to be unclear anyway.

There could also be more discussions on the story, characters, and powers. I feel like not enough people know about the connections between mythology, astrology, and the characters' powers. There could be discussions/analysis on the legacy of the franchise. There's more to Sailor Moon than just the manga, and two anime series. There's a live action series, musicals, other events related to the franchise that there's not many discussions about. It feels like other series, including less well-known franchises that ended decades ago, have more discussions about them than Sailor Moon, one of the biggest anime franchises in the world on RUclips and online in general.

Okay, so the 90s anime and the manga(Crystal, too) have different versions of Sailor Cosmos. In the 90s anime, Sailor Cosmos isn't explicitly stated to be Sailor Cosmos, but you can tell based on the silhouette of her. Chibi-Chibi is the Light of Hope, and still Sailor Cosmos, but instead of being a future Sailor Moon, she's the original star seed of Sailor Galaxia. I just wanted to make sure everyone understood that there was a difference, and that she appeared (although not explicitly stated) in the 90s anime.
I resonate with the underlying message, and I wish it had delved deeper into these themes.

given that chibiusa has been borrowing the silver crystal, then eventually gained her own pink moon crystal, it's possible that usagi too has been borrowing the silver crystal all along. the crystal's true owner is queen serenity and she just passed the crystal to princess serenity/usagi. usagi's real crystal is the cosmos crystal and she will eventually use it and will become sailor cosmos. cosmos crystal is the strongest of all, that's why sailor cosmos doubts she deserves the title because she cannot defeat sailor chaos by using the cosmos crystal. maybe she thinks she should have just used the silver crystal, as she seemed stronger and more determined back then as eternal sailor moon.
A fun little theory is that Chibiusa chose to be Sailor Moon. That she could have instead embrace her father's side with Earth powers. But she was raised on Sailor Moon stories. And in that future Usgai had stepped down and became Neo Queen Serenity. Afterwards she was unable to transform anymore. So Chibiusa took her place in a way until she could manifest her own powers.

Given all the time travel restrictions about two versions of the same person not being able to exist in the same time period, how chibi-chibi was around Usagi for a long period of time without starting to vanish, the fact that cosmos has a starburst symbol on her forehead as opposed to a crescent moon, different odango shapes, the fact that it's stated Neo-Queen Serenity lost her ability to become a senshi when she became queen and chibi-usa took up the mantle of Sailor Moon... I don't believe Cosmos is Usagi, but rather a descendant of hers. While the english translation of Cosmos's dialogue about her actual identity is technically correct... the japanese dialogue is a bit more ambiguous, which unfortunately gets lost in translation. Her dialogue in english makes it seem pretty clear that she's talking about herself fighting chaos in the past... Japanese dialogue... As the only crystal clear thing about who Cosmos is being that she's the future form of sailor moon, her dialogue is a bit more... is she talking about herself in the past or is she just talking about the sailor moon of the past? Given all the vagueness and ambiguity, I'm not even sure Naoko Takeuchi knows if Usagi is Cosmos or not.
But we know they can coexist at the same time, since Usagi actually meets face to face with Neo Queen Serenity at the end of the black moon arc and nothing happened
@ that was a brief meeting at the end of the black moon arc. Whereas earlier in that same arc sailor moon started to fade away from being around neo-queen serenity from too long and king Endymion ushered them quickly back to the past before she faded away completely. So sure, they can coexist for short periods of time, but not for the length of time Chibi-chibi was around usagi.
@@grimthanatos7350 it is a split timeline. Neo Queen Serenity is not from the same timeline as the one we watch. The second they interact with eachother through Rini is when it all changed. That is why the Queen is so confused so much about the past. As for her not being able to transform? It is more that she is holding the peace of that time. To much of her power is going into that, kind of like a sacrifice, which left her weakened. Which is also why Rini never aged at first, until she became a Salior scout herself and found her own power to overcome her mother's. The Sailor Moon we are watching is going to have a very different story, and that is where Cosmos comes in. But again, a split timeline happens because our Sailor moon chooses a different path in the end. But eventually the ultimate form of chaos will happen and Rini will be born. But now Sailor Moon will have her friends with her. Hopefully. Also for both Cosmos and Sailor Moon not fading away? Sailor Cosmos is her most powerful form and has complete control over time and space. And why her loosing was completely devastating to her. But she has lost everything and everyone by that point. Sailor Moon and her love of her friends and family are qhat gives her her strength. Cosmos and Chao are the to most powerful things in the galaxy. Or at least in that solar system.
I see her as more like a reflection of Usagi. Not actually her, but like a reflective doppelganger.
I think that Usagi and Cosmos are the same person, but with totally different attitudes and behaviors. Probably Cosmos an "old" version of Usagi, I mean, Usagi is young, while Neo Queen Serenity tries to remember herself in the past, but here Cosmos ... she's depressed. She felt hopeless and for my opinion, it seems she has "lost" or better, "forgot" the real Usagi that she was. The circle is full and completed, because it seems that Cosmos chose the option to "reverse the past" and travel into the past itself, despite all that the old version of the anime told us (travelling in time is dangerous).New Queen Serenity is eternal, Sailor Moon eternal herself cannot die anymore, and in a far, far future, she would become Cosmos, with all the hopeless behavior and the negativity and the frustration she had inside herself. In this way Small Lady Chibiusa would be the New Queen with Quartets to protect her. The fact the Crystal Tokyo would collapse in the future and Cosmos is remembering it, takes me to think that Cosmos felt the urgency to take the "dangerous road" to travel in the past and try to protect herself and Tokyo. At the end, probably, it seems that Usagi and Cosmos aren't the same person, and maybe this is right. They are the same, but at the same time, they aren't.

I disagree she's Usagi. "The me of here" can also refer to the mantle. The only confirmed detail is that she is the result of "Lamda power". So for example, when Spider-man says that Miles Morales is the "Me of Earth 1610" That does not mean Peter Parker is Miles Morales. It means the mantle, "Spider-Man" was passed on. It's indicated that Sailor Chibimoon will take over the mantle of Sailor Moon. And Sailor Chibimoon flatly says that she doesn't think Sailor Cosmos is her daughter or anyone closely related to her because she would "know." This throws out Usagi and also a direct descendant. Plus you have issues like the styling, hair color, eye color, and Sailor Chibichibi don't resemble Sailor Moon or Usagi. And Mamoru ends with the lines about how Usagi is the best Sailor Moon ever.
For this tah-keh-oo-chee nah-oh-koh (which was butchered in pronunciation) has not said anything and when flat out asked, would not answer the question. The most she will give in the Materials Collection or in interviews is "She is the result of Lamda Power" letting fan speculation run wild. Even when directly asked, she refuses patently to answer. She was asked if she's Usagi once and she refused to answer. (Good move, by the way).
Since it's a far flung future, it's likely Usagi's descendant far, far into the future.
You also have to kinda understand that the last arc is heavily, heavily influenced by Leiji Matsumoto, so if you watch the old anime Galaxy 999, this would give heavy clues as to what Takeuchi-sensei was trying to accomplish. But I kinda feel you need Japanese for the finer details of this since most theorists depend heavily on the English rather than the Japanese original. There is a lot more leeway in Japanese than in English since Japanese is more contextual.
I personally believe that Sailor Cosmos isn’t Usagi Tsukino but a far off incarnation of princess Serenity. Nevertheless, this is a dope deep dive.

Some reason when the Tokyopop manga came out. I always thought that Sailor Cosmos was the Usagi that failed to stop Chaos due to depression and losing her emotional support. Actually ran away from the fight and hence why the battle continued for eons and her finally reaching to Cosmos status. But since she wanted to changed that future she came back in time to give Usagi that emotional support she needed to finish the Chaos fight no knowing if it would destroy everything or not.
The Chaos you are talking about (against Sailor Cosmos) is SAILOR Chaos.

The theme of her seemingly losing the will to not only fight but also live but eventually finding hope again through her past self has always touched me ever since I first read the manga. The message of "I was strong then and I am strong now." to keep going is one that I wish the fandom appreciated more because it's so beautiful :')
To any Cosmos fans: the Le Mouvement Final musical that has her in it is both great and further 'hints' (or at least imo, just reconfirms) who she is as well. She talks to Chibiusa in it instead of the quartet and it's sooo good!! Highly recommend watching!

The ending of cosmos and her telling her story made me ball my eyes out. It shows that after all of her evolution and growth throughout the centuries of her existence, she still retains the essence of usagi. It made the reason why sailor moon exists make sense. I think it'd be awesome if Sailor Cosmos was actually the ORIGINAL QUEEN SERENITY, Princess Serenity's Mom, reincarnated as a Sailor Senshi. But I know popular belief is that Sailor Cosmos is a form of Usagi/Sailor Moon from a far distant future.
Loved this, finally she gets her own sailor cosmos. I am glad they stayed true to the books, but it's like what Queen Serenity said light attracts darkness and darkness attracts the light. Without Sailor Chaos, there wouldn't be Sailor Cosmos. They both were drawn to each other.
Very nice video. I think if SM should ever continue it should be showing Sailor Cosmos war against Sailor Chaos and then when she returns to her timeline, hand off the series to the adult Small Lady Serenity as she makes a new earth and becomes the next Queen. Then let Sailor Cosmos either pass on her power or get rid of it somehow and find peace in death so she could be with all her beloved people again.

Well, given that everyone in Crystal tokyo reach the age of 1000 like king and queen, i would say cosmos is a reincarnation of sailor moon, like usagi was of serenity, but she also can remember when she was eternal sailor moon like usagi can remember she was serenity, because like usagi was different a bit from serenity (like clumsy and she wasn't able to ice skat like serenity) so was cosmoa not able to ne brave and hopeful like eternal sailor moon.
But it seems like a curse, that she remembers all her past life, which also would explain why shw felt tired and sad fighting as cosmos
I don‘t know why when she senses Chaos gaining power she doesn‘t just travel to the Cauldron and bop it on the head with her staff like those gopher games. So it stays there and has to go through its regeneration cycle again. Never really becoming a problem. 🤷🏼♀️

What I love about Sailor Moon crystal and the new English dub from VIZ is that it’s more accurate to the original story .. what I absolutely hate about it is that they did not include their original voices from the original 90s dub by DIC .. I’ve had an idea for a long time to take the audio files from the new dub from VIZ, and then use AI, essentially do an AI cover with the old voices, but with the new updated script… so we can have the raw uncut version. We always wanted, but with the original voices, the original fans crave.
That sounds absolutely GENUIS! I also have thought about taking the remastered Viz and putting the old DiC voices over it. I’m actually positive I will do that as a personal project sooner than later.

Hmm so I recall Neo-Queen Serenity was able to find something similar to the fountain of youth and immortality which explains why they can live so long and not age. I wish the Sailor moon arc was picked up and continued. It would be nice to know how the hierarchy of Sailor Scouts worked. Based on the materials released I always assumed a Sailor Scout retired once they became Queen and the duties of a Sailor Soldier was passed down to the next generation of princesses just like with Sailor Chibi Moon. Since Sailor Cosmos is a version of Sailor Moon from the far future, what changed her title to Cosmos from Moon. I would think there is a system where sailor soldiers could get promoted in ranks beyond their respective planets and solar system. We have this with Sailor Galaxia who doesn’t take on the name of her homeworld and for a brief period ruled a large portion of the Milky Way galaxy. It would be nice to see if this is how the order worked.

This maybe a question regarding the timeline. Why in the 30th century when all the senshi collapsed, they are in the super form but not in eternal form?
Are you talking about a scene from the Black Moon arc - when Neo Queen Serenity is encased in Silver Crystal and all the other senshi’s bodies are seen laying on stone slabs?
@@TheSilverCrystal In the cosmos movie part 2, in the 30th Century, where Chibiusa sees all the senshi laying down with crystals shining, but fading away, including Pluto. All their outfits are in super form, not eternal form. Does it mean those senshi didn't experience the upgrade from the battle against Nehelenia?
@wainamng6739 When we were first shown the future Pluto was reporting to Neo Queen Serenity that abnormal phenomena is occurring in the past causing history to alter. Later Chibiusa was trying to ask her mother to go back to the past and was dismissed, NQS was shown to have her 'Eternal Tiare', the wand she uses as Eternal Sailor Moon. The girls appeared in their previous forms due to Chaos and Galaxia interference in past/present. They were screwing with the timeline, history was becoming undone.

While future and past interactions (in regard to changing the timeline or not) are a disputed thing, and with no factual evidence either which way - I believe, yes, the Sailor Moon we see now will eventually do exactly as Cosmos did here. I believe this, rather than a different possible future, because of the extremely strong use of FATE in the series. That will be her fate. Just as meeting and falling in love with Mamo, standing with these particular friends as fellow soldiers, and being the incredible leader she is, is all Usagi’s fate.

Because Sailor Cosmos has it rough to be in a constant battle with chaos she went back to the one point where it could’ve been changed but saw the error in that… now I have new questions 😅 1. Where is Chibiusa in the future? Also, this is more of an observation but it seems like the other sailor guardians have been offed in the future, and Mamaru … :(

I dont think Sailor Cosmos is directly a, elder iteration of Sailor Moon. Hear me out. Queen Serenity of the Original Moom Kingdom has the Star symbol on her forehead as well as the brooch on her chest. Princess Serinity has always had Mooms as her symbol. This is the reason i think Queen Serinity is Sailor Cosmos as stars aren't specific to one place or object and are all over the cosmos. The Moon of Princess Serinity ie Sailor Moon is specific to the Moon. Sailor Cosmos also has the exact same hair color as Queen Serinity.

I always believed that Cosmos isn't Sailor Moon directly, but like an alternate version of her. Simply because Sailor Moon and Sailor Cosmos touch, multiple times, which would have imploded time ans space (like with Neo Queen Serenity and Sailor Moon). But maybe Naoko forgot this fact when bringing Cosmos to the table lol
I've started to wonder if Sailor Cosmos is the sailor crystals of all 10 of them fused together in an attempt to overpower Sailor Chaos.

Nobody knows 🤷♂️ Beware of anybody telling you "yes, that's it" because we don't know. Outside of what the character actually said (all of which is very vague), everything is just theories. It's pretty clear that that's the way Takeuchi wanted it to be.

In her Past, Far Future Usagi jumped at the cauldron to sacrifice herself making her Sailor Cosmos.. If this happens, then there is no future that makes her Neo Queen Serenity.

They used to be one cosmic entity before being split so it’s very plausible they have the same power level. Usagi’s powers are tied to her emotional state and when she’s not empowered by her faith in her love for the planet, moon, and friends, she grows weaker.
