Fun fact: The voice at the beginning was provided by Jinjin (Otherwise known as YoMama2612 on RUclips) Edit: He's on an account named Mr. Jinjin on here now
This feels like a blend of 1980's and some Sonic the Hedgehog elements and early 1990's with the graphics, music an aesthetics. Super Mario Bros CD is a wonderful brilliant project done by fans of the games. It is amazing what Nintendo and Sega fans they have out there with genius independent video game designers.
I hope so! He's just got that perfect "Radio DJ" voice. I can't help but imagine Barracuda Barry being some Koopa in a Hawaiian shirt, studio headphones, and sunglasses, just chillin in a studio, playing music on the radio, and pretty much loving every second of his job.
I have to politely disagree with you there, I don’t think this fits in with early Mario at all, actually. While it still does fit with Mario as a whole, I associate it with maybe a Mario 64 track. Or if we wanna go retro, it really reminds me of early Sonic music, which is one of the highest compliments you could give a game’s OST. Cause even if a Sonic game sucks- and many of them do-, the OST is always full of bangers. Some of the best of OST’s in gaming history come from Sonic, and this game captures that sound of Sonic Mania or hell- the name brings upon this coincidence- Sonic CD. Very close to Sonic CD. So yeah. But it definitely doesn’t sound like something from Super Mario World or anything. I love it nonetheless.
Got introduced to this project yesterday when my partner popped in the demo on their SNES. Immediately went to look up this track afterwards. This game's entire OST so far is incredible. Lovely work!
Dude the idea of a little radio forecast at the beginning is actually so genius and something I’m honestly surprised wasn’t in something like a Genesis Sonic game, but my god I love it being here especially following up with this banger 👌👌👌
You're welcome! If you love the soundtrack you should check out the other songs from the soundtrack via the playlist in the description of this video! :)

Oye, muchas gracias por haber subido esta y otras canciones de la demo de SMBCD, estaba buscándolas y aquí están subidas, además, tremendo talento tienen los compositores de SMBCD por un increíble soundtrack :D
This song is something that I'd feel like you'd hear on the radio on a nice summers day somewhere where there are a lot of beaches, and the year being around early 2000's or mind 2000's. Anyway, I am really just trying to say that I absolutely love the song.
"hey, aloha! how's it everybody? im barracuda barry, from branuka radio in the always stunning and sunny, burshury isles! weatherman tells us that its ganna be another beautiful day in paradise: dazzling blue skys, white puffy clouds, and maybe even a shower or 2. today, i hope you have some time to stick around because i got some GREAT music for you! we're ganna get started with a song that tells about the beautiful burshurian beachsides. So, kick back, crank up the volume, and get in you favorite cruise position. imagine exploring the waves in a light tropical breeze with our new burshury spittas!" -barracuda barry

@@WhatIThoughtChannel Closer, I think the last line is off, I agree he's saying achipelago but it sounds like "and a light tropical breeze with archipelago Brochurey's finest" can't hear "an" or "of" in the slightest at least for me. My edit doesn't really make sense grammatically either which just makes me wish they would release the lyrics lol good transcription regardless.
@@lack_05I also can’t hear the ‘an’, but yeah, as you said, it doesn’t make sense without it. The ‘of’ is definitely there though, it’s just quick, quiet, and almost entirely covered by the music. I almost put the ‘an’ in brackets, because I think the way that that whole last line has been mixed in with the music has distorted it somewhat - even the second syllable of ‘archipelago’ seems to be missing.
Thought someone had already mentioned what Barracuda Barry is a reference to: It's referencing the radio announcer intro in the track Off Shore from the album Summer Time Romance by Toshiki Kadomatsu. It's 40 secs into the track.
This is a perfect music for a Windows Server 2003 OOBE (if Microsoft credited Nintendo and asked for permission before putting this and scrapping the No Hay Problema song)
