We HAVE a jukebox from the 70s. But at our wedding reception, one of my hubby's o ly requests was a jukebox instead of a band or DJ. It was a blast! He's a rock n roll guy. What fun would it be to use Jenny's pattern with all of his concert T-shirts as the album 'sleeve'!!
I can remember our Mom purchasing a record player for my brother and myself. I miss those days so much!!! Love this quilt tutorial. Plus I miss the music from our time ... Good ole rock n roll and country music, I'm in my mid 70's now.
I'm still watching Jenny... I love this! The centers of most of my 45s were yellow, I think, so I'll use yellow. I'm just smiling... Tiger Beat, anyone?
I still have a case of 45’s from my younger years. Very cute quilts. ❤ It’s funny, but my grown son and daughter-in-law have a record player in their living room and play albums all the time AND they play music from MY day. I think it’s great.
I grew up in the 70's & 80's, so of course I remember those records, and using a turn table! The good old days, kids these days don't know what they have missed out on with the days of CD'S.
These are all so great!!! Yes Jenny, we all had 45's didn't we?? Remember the "records" you could cut off the back of cereal boxes?? I was always amazed that they actually played 🤣🤣
I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and 45’s were stacked high next to the record player!! I would lay in the middle of my bedroom floor and listen to music for hours!!!! Your quilt brings back so many memories for me ❤❤
Love these! On Misty's quilt--I was watching and thought I don't have the drunkards path template, BUT, you could cut the circles (using the template if you have it, just place template on the fold) and applique onto a solid background square eliminating those pesky curves!
For the ones that have trouble sewing the circles, you can appliqué circles to a square, then cut in fourths. It looks neater, if you put lightweight interfacing on the circles, then turn inside out. I hope you know, what I mean. You guys are the best!
I was thinking about Misty's quilt, that it was an applique circle (from Lori Holt) in the center. I was born 1960 and use to sit in the music/sewing room playing all the little records from the 40's and 50's.
I love these. Sew well done you gorgeous Doan gals. No faves, but reminded me when I was little, my first 45 was an ep (2songs per side!) The Monkees! Hugs, Chel 🌸
My greatest joy is listening to you ladies on the way to work. I have about a 45 minute country drive each morning. It is a nice calming drive. Especially on a dark two lane road . Thanks ladies . 😊
You all have outdone yourself, this time…very clever and cute. But, I must say, Jenny’s is really just so amazingly creative, an instant classic! Well done girls!
I have a whole record case full of 45s. Every week when I was a teen, I would go to the record store and buy the #1 hit record. Love the quilts!! Thanks gals for sharing some new ways to use the dunkard's path. They are all fantastic!!
Natalie's quilt is so classic, showing the beauty in the simplicity of the drunkard's path. Jenny's quilt is such a cute and novel spin on the classic. And, Misty's quilt shows that combining the drunkards path with a few star legs creates a totally different look. You three always impress me! Thank you for inspiring us.❤
If you don't have the band t-shirt, I was thinking as I watched that I could print them using the Print Moda Printer. I was thinking I would print all of the singers and bands I listened to in the 80s and 90s. Love Triple Play and the wonderful ideas!
Love all 3. I'm always looking for new drunkards path ideas. Natalie's reminds me of bow ties. Would be a cute boys blanket. Great idea about a T-shirt quilt for Jenny's design too!
All three are cute designs. I think I will try Misty’s, but instead of drunkard’s path curves sewing, I would just appliqué a circle onto a background square using freezer paper & needle-turn applique, so the print fabric stays whole. I would trim out the background fabric underneath the circle to reduce bulk/weight. And I really like the idea of making Natalie’s version first, as I am a beginner on this and need to practice sewing curves. I’ll use the layer cake of fabrics that I love and that I’d rather not cut up, then it should look super!
Love the quilt❤. I have a bunch of old records and record player. Im 51 and grew up listening to 8 track tapes and records with my mom. Sure was a simpler Time back then.❤
Hi. Since I’m in the planning stage of making a tshirt quilt for my son, who is a musician and songwriter, my first thought was about turning his tshirts into album covers! I laughed when you mentioned the idea in the video. Great minds and all!
My very first quilt I made was a drunkards path when I was in my 20’s and now in my 70’s that quilt is used on my bed now. I have two favourite pattern designs drunkards path and Lone Star. Thanks for sharing your versions. 👍❤️😊
I enjoy the inventive little techniques you each come up with. We can tuck these ideas away in our minds and use them in a variety of blocks, as well as the ideas you come up with for these quilts.
Another great triple play. Love Natalie’s because you can use the 10”squares and keep your squares mostly whole. Love Jenny’s because I remember records from my younger days. Love Misty’s because she always has the most unique ways for sewing her fabrics to make a beautiful block.
Oh Jenny - I am going to make that for my girls and make it with some fabrics for their favorite artists. Could be so fun to be like a book quilt but for concerts… the possibilities are endless!
Jenny, your Jukebox quilt was perfect for our generation. I love how fun and easy you made it. It's fun to have those 45s hanging around ! I'm still nervous about curves, but maybe some day I'll give this a try.
Jenny, I was born in 1951, so I definitely know what the 45 rpm record is! I remember when Elvis started and my mom bought a few of his 45's. This is a cute quilt!
I never had a machine only do a straight stitch. I learned on mom's Necchi Elna. I sprained my ankle and have been watching quilting for 3 weeks. I added 4 to my to do list. Almosr on my feet again!
Pauline from Pauline’s Quilters World suggests we use our, left foot to sew with. It is hard at first but could help if you are really wanting to sew. ❤😊
Most of the vintage sewing machines are straight stitch only - I have a collection of Singers from 1926 to about 1960 (featherweights and other models) and most are straight stitch only! Ans they sew beautifully. There are still straight stitch inky machines being sold today (new) just depends on what you need! I as it to being a bit spoiled with some of our adaptations though but like all my machines!!! M
While Misty's quilt was hanging up, I thought she folded the square and cut it on the fold to make a circle to applique to a background square. I didn't expect her to actually make the 4 drunkers path blocks. Funny how different brains work. Great job all.
I have the cardboard templates that my great aunts’ used (probably in the 30s and 40s). They are in a white envelope labeled: Fool’s Path. My family members were all staunch temperance activists.
How cute is this 45 vinyl quilt? I grew up playing these whenever I was allowed to borrow the player. Over and over because by the time I could afford another one, the oldest one was all scrittchy.. I would like to make one in the future. What fun. I will take an easier way, I think, I will applique a black circle on a square, then cut in half to do the half circle. I will likely applique the little grey circle as well before cutting. Great idea....Thank you. Misty's quilt is beautiful... Nathalie's quilt reminds me of a bow tie quilt when it is hanging up. I think I will try a few of my flannel plaids and see how it looks....Thanks for the ideas ladies.
Love all three of the variations of the drunkard’s path. Really sets my creative juices going. Think I’m going to start using some of my Christmas fabrics and make a couple of these, as soon as I get done making the quilt that I’m challenging myself with for my grandson for his birthday in December. Thank you all for this amazing tutorial!
Jenny, I first though you were showing handbags. It would work if someone didn't grow up 50's thru the 70's. LOL! It would work for handbags too, just by making the handle skinner, and use the background in the middle. Hey I could even use some of the templates you sell to make it into an applique quilt. FYI I'm just a tad older than you. I also grew up in the vinyl record era.
😂 Just heart Misty's idea. Great minds think alike. 😊
Great idea
Wonderful memory quilt!
Great idea!!!!!!😊
Omg...what a wonderful idea!

I have some of the Maureen McCormick fabric...flower Power and blooming bunch, would work great.
@@sheliaheverin8822 oh I do too. Good idea
Tiger Beat! What a nice memory!❤
My heart throb was Robby Benson for a long time!❤❤
Great memories,
I still have a case of 45’s from my younger years. Very cute quilts. ❤ It’s funny, but my grown son and daughter-in-law have a record player in their living room and play albums all the time AND they play music from MY day. I think it’s great.
How cute would Misty's be with black background and Halloween fabric!
I grew up in the 70's & 80's, so of course I remember those records, and using a turn table! The good old days, kids these days don't know what they have missed out on with the days of CD'S.
Nat's quilt reminds me of bow ties. So cute! ❤
Exactly what I was thinking! 🌟
Misty, genius!!!
These are all so great!!! Yes Jenny, we all had 45's didn't we?? Remember the "records" you could cut off the back of cereal boxes?? I was always amazed that they actually played 🤣🤣
The Archie’s & the Monkees!
@@susanmei9980 I think I had one with Bobby Sherman!!
@@marlahanks7278 Yes! I think I did too! I forgot about him!
Novelty fabric to put onto the record covers. The covers were always so cool and artistic.
I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and 45’s were stacked high next to the record player!! I would lay in the middle of my bedroom floor and listen to music for hours!!!! Your quilt brings back so many memories for me ❤❤
My daughter will love this. she and her husband had a 50's themed wedding and I could make her a special quilt using the record idea. thank you
If for a party, could add in autograph patches for people to sign.
@@person2463 I love that idea
Love these! On Misty's quilt--I was watching and thought I don't have the drunkards path template, BUT, you could cut the circles (using the template if you have it, just place template on the fold) and applique onto a solid background square eliminating those pesky curves!
Exactly what I thought! No need to cut up those beautiful prints-but this is a drunkards path tutorial 😊
For the ones that have trouble sewing the circles, you can appliqué circles to a square, then cut in fourths. It looks neater, if you put lightweight interfacing on the circles, then turn inside out. I hope you know, what I mean. You guys are the best!

Good morning, it's 5.04 am and a triple play day 🎉🎉🎉
Hello Ladies wonderful to see you. I love triple play, thank you so very much.
I love these. Sew well done you gorgeous Doan gals. No faves, but reminded me when I was little, my first 45 was an ep (2songs per side!) The Monkees! Hugs, Chel 🌸
Loved the monkees
Memories 😍🎶🎼🎵🎤🥁🎹
Misty, I think I'd make your quilt like planets and stars using an outer space theme background fabric.
I like all the quilts but Natalie’s is my favorite
YES! 45'S That was my Jam lol, the first 45 I bought was David Cassidy, I think I love you, bought with my Bday money. ❤
Jenny’s quilt. Oh my lord. I know what I’m doing with my concert tee shirts now. Too flipping cute.
That's an awesome idea!
I have to say, I love to watch Natalie iron! She thorough and so gentle with the fabric. Press on Natalie!
My greatest joy is listening to you ladies on the way to work. I have about a 45 minute country drive each morning. It is a nice calming drive. Especially on a dark two lane road . Thanks ladies . 😊
Wonderful ideas. Thanks for all you give us.

I've kept all my 45s from my teen times
Grew up in the 50’s &60’s. I love all 3 of these patterns! Instructions are easy to follow! Thanks!
All fantastic, but Jenny wins this one❤
I have a whole record case full of 45s. Every week when I was a teen, I would go to the record store and buy the #1 hit record. Love the quilts!! Thanks gals for sharing some new ways to use the dunkard's path. They are all fantastic!!
You could buy a 45 for one dollar.
Loved all 3 of these! I really liked the easiest/fastest one of Natalie's, reminds me of a bow tie quilt, but easier! LOL
It's 4 am and I can't sleep. What great ideas you all have. I have the templates and the ideas and the fabrics. Great job ladies. I love it
The Jukebox quilt is adorable and I also saw little handbags or small purses! Love all three patterns.
Me too!😊
Yes I sure do know about 45 records. Love ghosts days.😊
My favorite was Natalie's love your quilt... Your great very talented...❤️
Natalie's quilt is so classic, showing the beauty in the simplicity of the drunkard's path. Jenny's quilt is such a cute and novel spin on the classic. Once again 3 beautiful quilts! Love them all...thanks!😊
Your creativity just blows my mind!!! All three are gorgeous and look so complex, yet so simple!!! I see lots of layer cakes in my future 🌹

Jenny, I love your blouse!!!! Cute quilts too!

Always hated how the 8 tracks would split a song and put the first half on one track and the last half on another. Grrr!

I love triple play and make it my treat night while I watch it eating chocolate - all the quilts are beautiful than you al so much x
We remember 78’s they broke easily. My husband had a windup record player. Love the quilts.
When I saw Jenny's quilt, I thought shopping bags or gift bags. All the quilts are amazing.
I enjoy the inventive little techniques you each come up with. We can tuck these ideas away in our minds and use them in a variety of blocks, as well as the ideas you come up with for these quilts.
Natalie thank you so much, I haven’t used my drunkards path yet! I believe I can try it 😊
Yet another great triple play. Like your ideas and hacks. Thank you!
Lovely projects. The star legs hack from Mistys quilt could be used as sashing on so many other blocks to give you a secondary pattern ❤
Always love your triple plays.

I LOVE Juicy!! I didn’t know you carried Ruby Star! Yay!!
All of the quilts were super cute. I have never been good at the drunkards path so I think Natalie's is the I want to try to improve on my skills.

I had so many 45's!❤❤❤

Heh - that's pretty awesome - I'd have to see if I can get my favorite LP covers printed out on Fabric, and then cut it all out to stick the LPs in.
