Jowsau is a Cantonese term that can be translated into 'Fleeting Hand' and is a practice trained in Chi Sau within Wing Chun training. It is used when the partner's force is not aimed straight forward which allows one to release the incoming force and strike through. It is not really a technique used for combat but more of a sensitivity practice.
To perform Jowsau correctly and smoothly is to be able to keep continuous forward force from the elbow while navigating around the partner's arm with the wrist. So there should be no gap in your defense while performing the movement. This is much easier said than done. Therefore, to attain the ability is to apply proper 'elbow force' and not pressing at the contact point.
Jowsau therefore creates a spring like force that is effortless and very fast. The partner should feel that suddenly there is nothing to press against and at that moment they are struck.
A fun and worthy practice to add to your chisau practice indeed...

Glad you like it. will keep the videos coming :)
Its criminal not allowing Nima to do commentary. GOD bless.🙏🙏❤👍
haha, these are all older clips that were edited a long time ago, but yeah I could have don't a voice over.
I got mixed feedback from the ones that I did voice overs on in this channel but if the majority believes voice overs are better then I will start doing them again 😅🙏
@@MindfulWingChun Thank you for the response Nima,I was under the impression that voice over was being disallowed, for some reason, 😄😄keep up the good work, cst would be proud.🙏🇬🇧
He was just so quick. 😍 Rotating while sticking 👍🏻
yeah, and the more force we used to press against, the more we would 'load him up' and the faster he would spring
Stay mobile keep the pressure 😤🏆🏆
exactly. and keep the pressure without pressing act the contact point with the forearms (using the triceps), but rather use the right springy force which this exercise helps to cultivate
