As long as Vietnam is still ruled by the oppressive and exploitive Communist regime, her potential remains greatly diminished. For any 1% that wants to stay, 99% of the population wants to get out, and many have risked their lives doing just that (for example, 39 doomed lives found in UK container truck recently on the news, and that's only what's been reported), unfortunately. Yet another shocking and also recent example is that during the Covid pandemic when almost all countries assisted their citizens with financial aids in one form or another, the corrupt and murderous Vietnamese Commie regime saw it just another opportunity not to help but to exploit its ruled citizens even more, essentially making money over the corpses of its citizens by presumably killing at least 30K of them, due to misdiagnosis and being and cramped into barbwired unhygenic living quarters for isolations, so that they had to sleep on the concrete floors, with inadequate food, water, or medicine, like animals, with the fake nostril Covid test kits, mislabeled as approved by World Health Organization (WHO) in Việt Á scandal, colluded by at least 4 different government agencies (Y Tế , Khoa Học, Công Nghệ, Quân y) and the top Politburo members, including Nguyễn Phú Trọng, Phạm Minh Chính, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Murderous Vietnamese Commie regime even had a thug murdered Christian pastor Giuse Trần Ngọc Thanh, like it has done with many other pastors across the nation. There is a reason why the current Commie Vietnam ranks at the bottom of the world in freedom of speech and freedom of the press, barely above Commie China and Commie North Korea. Similarly, its passport ranks at the bottom, 89th out of 111 countries for a reason, barely above North Koea 104th rank. even below many African nations. For comparison, South Korea 2nd rank. That's what Republic of South Vietnam would have likely been ranked among at least the top 10 had it not been invaded and occupied by the North Vietnamese Commie terrorists, aided by Commie Soviet and Commie China. Travelers to Vietnam in her current form (not at all like this before the Communists took over) should keep this in mind. Behind the beauty of the land and smiling faces at popular tourist destinations, there are a lot of darkness and sorrow, horror, and sufferings all over the country.

    • @ChaseandShelbs

Thank you! So the main reason we booked a tour was because we know there is sooooo much incredible local foods to try! But in vietnam there isn’t really any English written on alot of the local street vendors or shops so we tend to not know what it is/what we are about to eat. We wanted a guide to help us understand new foods and also teach us things we didn’t. It was so worth it!
We prefer mostly going out to eat on our own though, in vietnam it’s just a little harder for us.☺️

Whenever you eat Vietnamese food that is served or dipped in fishsauce, the fishsauce actually is the "MAIN" flavor. It does not matter whether you eat "banh xeo" or "banh khot" or "banh cuon" etc..., if the fishsauce is not good, the dish is not good. And each of the fishsauce for each of the dishes is mixed differently.

Sorry if someone has already commented on the mini potato-like root you were eating as part of your food tour, but i just found out they're called dwarf tubers. I loved the food tour guides that "Note and Flora" and MomDuty used in Hanoi as well as the one "Steph and Pete" used in Hoi An as well. All the guides were great. But now that you're tasted snails...you've got to go eat at the real snail restaurants on snail street. You'll love Vietnamese snails/seafood at the snail restaurants. Vietnamese people will probably help Westerners overcome snails and liver (via pate) with the magic they do to those ingredients.

That's right, Ho Chi Minh was ranked among the top mass murderers of 20th century, just behind his fellow Commie butchers Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol-Pot that collectively slaughtered hundreds of millions civilians worldwide. Ho Chi Minh himself killed nearly 1 million North Vietnamese civilians to rob their lands in only 4 years during his deadly land-reform 1953-1956. That's why 700K North Vietnamese fled to South Vietnam in 1954 Geneva Accords to escape brutal Communist terrorists from North Vietnam where Commie Chinese puppet Ho Chi Minh brought blood flag from Fujin Province, red flag with central yellow star, to replace the national flag of Vietnam for 2000 years dating back to the Trung Sisters Dynasty, the yellow flag with 3 horizonal red stripes. North Korean Commie terrorists would have done the same thing to the free and prosperous Republic of South Korea had they successfully invaded in 1953 without US intervention.

@@thethaovatoquoc312 Ho Chi Minh was ideologically a left-wing nationalist who believed in self-rule of Vietnam free from any foreign power ruling it by proxy...whereas all you bad-mouthing overseas southern Viets want to remain under a puppet government set up by the French. Guess you like being French lapdogs...the same French whom named the city Sai Gon when it was Gia Dinh before. The same French whom divided the country. The same French whom have agendas that aren't in your best interests, but theirs.

@@doodahgurlie What are you even talking about? Commie Vietnam has been the lapdog of both Commie China and Commie Soviet for the last 7 out of 8 decades now, since 1941 when Commie Chinese puppet Ho Chi Minh brought Commie China's blood flag from Fujian Province to replace the national flag of Vietnam for 2000 years dating back to the Trung Sisters Dynasty. 1979-1989 lapdog Commie Vietnam split with one of its masters Commie China because Commie China split with its other master Commie Soviet during that period of time. Vietnamese Commies are traitors to Vietnam, as Commie Vietnamese Premier Pham Van Dong signed away Vietnam's islands and maritime territory and gave them to its master Commie China in 1958, without the approval of Vietnamese citizens whatsoever, neither from North nor South. Even recently lapdog Commie Vietnam couldn't even close its border with Commie China during the Covid pandemic without its master's approval. All true. More truth, less propaganda please, as the truth shall set you free!

Hello from Zürich, CH. Thanks for the fun videos! Yeah, it's POT AU FEU in French haha...Yes, lots of French influence from Vietnamese borrowed words (and Chinese) to food not to mentioned architectures...Old folks still can speak French fluently...My French husband's ancestors were in Vietnam. Food and the price cannot compared to here - have you been to Switzerland? It's 2-3x the price of the USA even except for toilet papers and milk.

They would have to compete against Max McFarlin, but I think they'd be very popular because they are very friendly (Canadians are the friendliest people, no?) and so open and upbeat. They bring great energy, so yes, they can totally surpass Max...good thing Sonny from the Best Ever Food Review Show (biggest on youtube) doesn't just do only Vietnamese food there or this couple will beat him, too. LOL

I am a resident of Saigon but I was surprised that this food tour was so well organized. If it were me, I would have to fast for 2 days to eat all the food on this tour. Snails aren't my favorites either, and it's not suitable as the end dish of a very long food tour. You two are so lovely and I also like the tour guy. Wish you two will have great experiences in Vietnam. Our youth must have a lot of experiences
