- A little over five years ago my grandpa passed away. Following that time of loss, my grandma began to write poems expressing her grief. This is one that was very special to her. So I put it to music, and my brother Lincoln did a video. Today is my grandma‘s birthday, so I thought it would be a good day to share it in celebration of her and Grampy’s life together. Happy birthday Grammy! The song is entitled, Donald’s Song; I Can’t Say Goodbye.

My stage partner in our band, and best friend. My better half, and beautiful soul that believed in me, and made my world whole, that I love with every ounce of my being. Angie and I spent 20 years together between bartender, friend to me waking up from being on a downward spiral in my life. I sobered up off the drugs, and she knew me as a musician, and a good one, but I had a problem in my 30's that I am glad I walked away from. Angie had only knew me as an addict and a customer at the bar she worked at. She didn't know I was clean and her band needed a guitar player for a gig and I had just one week when they hired me to learn all the sets. I didn't even own any gear. I had to use the bass players telecaster and amp. She didn't know that I was who they were going to audition for the band, and when I walked in she was like NO WAY! I am not having that drug addicted mess in our band. The bass player and the guy that recommended me knew I was sober. She was like the band manager and reluctantly she agreed to give me a shot. After 3 months she was more than a bartender and a friend to my band mate, and my girlfriend into the women I would share the deepest love I can imagine two can share without a marriage certificate for almost 15 years. She passed away last year February 9th. Her funeral was on Valentines Day. This song is great, and it hits close to home. Great song.
