Having what multiple major analysts agree is the most sure thing of all OL prospects in the draft @ #26 is absolutely fantastic. Also, having versatility as an OL has never been more valuable and Barton projects to be mid 1st(interior OL) or even early 2nd round(OT) talent at ANY of the 5 OL positions which is not exactly common. I absolutely love this pick as I suspect Baker and especially Rachaad do as well.
Point of info for you from an offensive line coach. It is 100% legal to grab the guy these days, as long as: a) You are inside the arms (can't wrap, but generally coaches teach to go for the armpits) b) you let go if the guy starts to pull away from you c) You can (and should) pull the guy in close once you get your grip. Pull him in, lift him up, and drive him where-ever you want. Too many people don't understand the current blocking rules and definition of holding, which admittedly has changed since I was in high school 40 years ago.
Next pick has to be an elite edge pass rusher or a comeback if we can find one for a good value in the 2nd round! Love the first pick. We for sure needed an upgrade at center, now will he take time to develop, of course especially bc he hasn’t been playing center in college. I hope he’s a day 1 starter but that’s to be seen. They’ll be able to evaluate better in training crank when they’re able to compare hainsey and Barton side by side at center. Praying he’s a future all pro 🔥 like the pick
@@Yallknowtrey Mauch? And who? Buddy you see how Feiler worked out last year? Also none of the edges left are worth a 2nd. Isaac is worth a 3rd if you need run d, Kamara is worth a 3rd if you need a developmental player who can rush the passer as a package player (Hm, Tampa mebe?). Wouldn't be worth taking an Edge, only corner left worth taking is DeJean if he falls that far. Trading for JPJ or Frazier would absolutely still be a great idea
@@davidrobinson3154 Feiler was good until he got injured plus if we have 4 good peices out of 5 that's good enough plus I didn't say we had to only look at DEs I said DBs and LBs too
@@Yallknowtrey buddy we don't have 4 good pieces out of 5, we have 3 out of 5, and O-line is definitely a weakest link position. Furthermore, I said Edge and Corner suck. Lotta bad ideas at those positions in day 2. I'd take DeJean 2nd round if he falls that far, that's it. If we're smart we can pick up Kamara in the 3rd. Forcing DB or OLB in the second is a terrible idea though
I believe this is a better pick for the Bucs than JPJ. More versatile and does not have the injury concerns of JPJ. JPJ has already had several concussions and the last thing we need is to get into another Ali Marpet situation and lose this pick to retirement a few years down the road. That retirement started the demise of our offensive line....don't want to experience it again.
His arms are way to short to play tackle at the pro lvl. To be honest, im shocked he did as well as he did in college. But he should excel on the inside. I just wonder is maybe he should start at gaurd and backup center at first to get used to everything...

0:44 he played center his freshman year and did a great job
He’s literally the top rated center prospect since 1987 out of over 650+ prospects in that time!
A beat and a genius in 1
He played center! JPJ has concussion issues.

The elite edge rushers are gone, and I only think there was one elite one.
Do you think Barton has a higher ceiling than JPJ?
Did JPJ drop out of the 1st because of his (concussions) injury history?
He'll be practicing against Vita Vea everyday 😬
Iron sharpens Iron
Really good signing... Center was a big hole... Need a CB and Edge now
He has short arms. He will be a fine addition to our interior.
I expect the Bucs will draft another Guard/Center tonight.
We gotta go LB CB or DE we don't have time to go for another guard cuz we alr have Cody and a decent guard on the other side
Nah definitely see edge here then pick up a guard and CB with both the 3rd round picks then take a late round receiver

As a Packer fan, I’d have rather we picked Barton

Need an edge rusher since we canned Shaq
Ugh Barton is good 😡⚜️
We got a steal at #26 who will be an All Pro center soon. Barton is very fast.
Would have personally preferred jpj

He's going to be Left Guard. It will maximize his potential. I have no idea why people are pigeon holing him as a center
Licht did say he envisions him playing center for us
@@JoeyXB You know why? They can sign him for less money as a center on his rookie deal. I bet after the ink is dry they will put him at Left Guard
The GM said he's playing center@@AlphariusDominatus
@@AlphariusDominatus It doesn't work like that. He is going to get paid based on where he was drafted not his position. It is all predetermined.

Tampa needed a center why not just draft a Center, not a journeyman, we need a specialist so be ready for the growing pains
