The Build with Evan Centopani, 8 Weeks Out?

- Man, A LOT can change in just a few weeks. Since my last check-in, the world has come under attack by COVID-19, areas are on lockdown, people are being quarantined, and an extremely unfortunate number of people have actually died from the virus. Along with this has come panic buying. Many everyday food items are either sold out or they are being limited by retailers. Despite the interruption in availability, I’ve been able to pull together a good bit of food to ensure that I will have what I need while I continue to prep. Additionally, all gyms have been shut down. I couldn’t be more thankful that I have all of the fundamentals available to me through my home gym. At this point, I don’t even know if the NY Pro will go on, but I will continue on with my prep as planned. That puts me 8 weeks out at the moment. Things are coming along nicely in terms of progress, as my conditioning and performance continue to improve. Ultimately, though, while I put this content out for the fans who like to watch along (and I’m very thankful that you do), I want us to keep in mind all of the people whose lives are being affected by this virus. I feel it’s especially important to think of them when we begin to get slightly frustrated by this situation. As long as we still have a roof over our heads, a job to call our own, and our health, we are doing great.

No kidding. It's even hard finding second hand gym equipment that isnt marked up 2x retail price. I had to resort to concrete dumbbells I made.
@@thewh1tewolf184 I work for logistics company in Berlin (Deutschland). And trust me I have never seen soo many gym sets being handled by us before. Like TONS of gym equipment every week. People are getting ready.

HOME GYMS have always been the best...unless you are there to socialize. Lmao! Italy has a large chinese population in the fashion industry...we have relatives there. And fyi. If everyone was prepared nobody would have to panic buy. Our grandparents knew this...

Even when we get into Green, we will only be able to go to gyms and with appointments only for an hour. WTF?????????????

If there isn't a show, I hope that you show the fruits of your labor on this channel. I also am just glad to hear from a good human being saying he isn't going to snatch up all the extra chicken because he NEEDS it for a show and leaving it for others that may need it. I've been making similar adjustments, but don't need nearly the amount of calories to sustain my physique as a 270lb bodybuilder. Just saying, RESPECT!

The day I started lifting weights seriously(about 6 years ago) I started buying my own equipment. Slowly but surely, over time I started to amass more and more pieces. The past 4 years Ive even worked at a gym, I used to open it and have to be in at 3:30am every single morning, I still spent all my money on gym equipment. Ive been manager of that same gym for 2 years now and now that Iam actually making some decent cash you can guess where its all going....just ordered my first pair of calibrated plates last week!
Point being is that everybody has different motivations for the gym and working out. I started on the other end of the spectrum being well over 400lbs and severely obese, Ive seen all types come in and out of the gym in that time of being a quite, self conscious observer. And the saddest thing about it is that nobody really ever makes it their own. When I work out, its all about me, everything else is left aside. The plates become my friends and my enemies and together we achieve something great!
Nobody does that anymore, its all a pageant, a show, a vulgar display of bullshit if you will. No one knows how to work out, no one knows how to achieve hypertrophy, or reps for strength. You see the same mother fuckers, day in and day out, doing the same mother fucking things and getting NO WHERE! And it cant help but piss you off. People say, "its none of your business, why does it bother you?" Well it just fucking does ok, dont bother doing something if your not going to do it right! And the most fucked up thing about it, is these people actually believe they work out! Its fucking audacious!
Sorry, long rant there, Iam sure no one read it. But what iam getting at is, there is NOTHING like lifting at home, by yourself. Nothing but the sound of the weights clanking around, your own exacerbated breath and nothing but your own thoughts in your head. There is nothing more cerebral and primal in the world to me. Everyone should try it and if you cant get into it then go lift with your bros down at Golds with your stringers and pre work out.

Evan, the reason for the panic buying is that there is serious concern supply chains will breakdown... when that happens shelves will be empty and supplies will be distributed by the government at best.
Things are about to get a lot worse .... very happy to have a home gym too otherwise id be going crazy

I would also be not worried about my food if i had my basement filled with approx. 150 lbs of just protein. Why not just slaughtering a cow and a tuna fish? How much rice and noodles do you have? A ton?

Partly you can blame on major retailers and stores not putting limits on how many toilet paper you can purchase.Unfortunately the world is full of stupid people mostly sheep. I don't think food shortages ever going to be an issue United States of America is a biggest food manufacturer in the world.

It’s crazy how he build the gym he wanted before all this mess happen. Not as cool but I got a bowflex in February to start getting in shape again and it deff came in handy due to the quarantine. Sometimes it’s good to plan ahead just in case

What is the shelf life of Animal Meal? If someone was to stock up on Animal Meal how long does it last before expiring? I have some Animal Meal right now and I don't see an expiration date on it anywhere.

One of the great things about taking time off is your body gets fresh and the youthful volume comes back. Other guys his age have lost that youthful volume of crisp round muscle bellies cause they never took any breaks

Evan, how do you prepare your meals that you freeze? Do you just put them in the fridge a few days before you need them or do you boil the freezer bag the day you need it?
