The Bitlocker key is probably stored on the TPM chip, it should work with a replaced BIOS chip. Good job...

The thing is you spotted it, but some might not and think the board is toast and throw it away, and you were honest about your mistake.

It is wonderful that you are so relaxed when you make mistakes and just laugh about it! Can you provide info what module you are using for DC-ATX adapter so you can capture readings in OBS, also your top camera is great! Which camera is it? Thank you for your knowledge sharing.

What power supply do you use? Can you give a link to buy the atx coverter with the cpu cable ? I bought one from aliexpress but my doesn't work. Greatings from Portugal five star🌟 🇵🇹

Try to heat up or cool down the damaged bios and try o read it, might work. Good video greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹

Where did you get the board view from?
Is there some public database, or did you get it in another way?

Hello 🤝 I also happened to solder the BIOS chip backwards, 😂😅😂😅best regards👋👋👋👋👋

The only way you never solder chips in the incorrect orientation is to never resolder chips 😂 Yeah, paying attention to what you're doing is ideal, but doing it in real life doesn't quite pan out that way IMHO

The resistor near the phase doubler looks like manufacturing defect (shiny solder on the exposed pad), maybe it was "working". But the NOR chip dying is a common problem on motherboards, it is due to the fact that BIOS (legacy) works diferently from UEFI. Usually BIOS is only read one time at boot, copied into ram and executed there. In UEFI sistem, parts from it are also copied into ram and executed from there, but there also extensive writes on the NOR chip, which lead to degradation, and personally I dont know if there is an algorithm implemented for data shuffling to extend its life. Thats why sometimes when I encounter a bad chip reprogramming it externally, it errors with some zones not being written correctly. Come to think why QLC/TLC NAND SSD manages to outlast first generation of SLC NAND SSD (better algorithm for even writes/wear).

Seeing things like that shows how bad the manufacturing of these things has become, lead free soldering is always suspect

If it did not have a TPM module plugged into the TPM header, then it was probably using fTPM, which is handled by the AMD PSP. The AMD PSP NVRAM data is stored in an encrypted region of the SPI ROM, so yes, without its original content the BitLocker key is lost. Additionally, updating the BIOS may invalidate the data, as well as flashing with BIOS Flashback. Even changing some settings in the BIOS would invalidate it.Just trying to boot from another device too. And replacing hardware components can invalidate it as well. That's the point, if anyone tries to mess with the boot process of the computer, then the key gets invalidated to prevent unauthorized access.
That is why it is extremely important to educate people on backing up their BitLocker recovery key. Microsoft does not insist on it enough.
Maybe they are lucky and they were logged into a Microsoft account where the recovery key might have been backed up, or they were joined to an Active Directory domain that might have backed it up as well.

I don't suppose you know what could cause the right audio channel to not work? I have an old mobo from an Acer Aspire and the right audio channel does not work... I tried replacing the audio jacks but it did not solve the problem. I think the mobo is failing to send the right audio channel signal. Front panel audio works fine, just the rear that doesn't.

Does that mean the Q flash button will respond now?

you are lucky that you did not fry the bios chip or the voltage regulator powering the chip by having the chip on wrong.
i am not sure what bit locker is but if it is the windows version of the secure enclave on the mac then you may have to re install windows and software as the bit locker key would encrypt the hard drive.

Vermute mal, dass der BIOS-Chip mit 3,3V bearbeitet wurde. Manchmal funktioniert das, manchmal reagieren die wie dieser hier.

yup witht he BIOS toast bitlockered drives wont unlock... I wont ever use it, there are better ways to secure than locking up the entire drive.
