    Definitely so easy to propagate. I started with a single cutting from my mom's plant and now it's a bush 🤣
    It almost roots too quickly!

    No way I got a clipping the other day and decided to propagate it but tonight me and my mum were talking about it and my mum mentioned how I should research the name. I didn’t have the time to but when I came onto yt this was in my recommendations!! Love this vid!,

    I got one from my grandmother. It looked dead when I got it, cause she left it in the trunk of a hot car in Texas for 3days and it was a grey/brown color, I really cannot believe it survived and I took a lot of cuttings too, but it's doing much better now a month later

    • @thecontentedplant7057

      Wow!!! That's incredible that it survived! They are really hardy plants. Mine has been living through the PNW heat wave in a 102 F living room

    I have them growing profusely out of the top of several aquariums in my basement. I have a lot of LED lights down there and they are doing exceptionally well as aquaponic plants. They love the nitrates in the water from the fish waste and by using the nitrates they purify the fish water for my fish. The fish love all of the roots as hiding places. I just clipped them all back and put the cut ones in the top of other tanks. I have a fish room I have been building so I have many aquariums to spread them through. It is all a work in progress. I plan to grow a terestrial hanging pot above the tanks and let them vine down to the water.

      Thats a really good idea! I have a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium that I should try them in. I use my aquarium water to water all of my plants. They love it!

    Thank you for the infomative video. I have a question. I just got few stems from my friend and propagated them into a huge pot. I have a very big terrace. In the morning, the sun becomes really really warm around 10 until 1 or so, and from then onwards, I have a tent in the middle of the garden that blocks this kind of scorching sunlight from 1 till 4 and then it becomes easier in the afternoon of course. Should I keep it under the sunlight to feed in the morning sun, or put under the tent (which is not transparent but lets light in), or in the west side of terrace for the afternoon sun? Also, can I put sticks and make it climb as a vine? Rather than hanging down. THANK YOU. I just followed your channel.

    .. Thank you.. Now I understand why my zebra look so weird.. It had mee so puzzled that I left it on my garden table along with a bunch of other plants, under a huge parasol, back in May (only few weeks after I got it) thinking my Calatheas was so much easier😳.. Until today when I had to put most of them under the table, and the rest inside my house, due to a stormy wind that is turning my garden up side down 😳 again 😅 it's called "summer".. Anyway.. In the kitchen I noticed how all the leafs has grown bigger and fuller, though two stems looked like yours.. Dead and withered and with strong big leafs further down.. The pot is completely dried out.. I will try to repot it and put the cuttings back in and see what happens.. I bought it for the colors and because it is so ordinary it hurts.. I just want it to live and be beautiful 🤗

      Oh my! Yes propagating the cuttings and repotting should help a lot! Good luck with your Calatheas, those are finicky plants!

    I HAVE A QUESTION. I HAVE THE MAROON, DARK GREEN PLANT, BUT ONE LITTLE BRIGHT PURPLE FLOWER MUCH DIFFERENT TO THAT OF THE REST OF THE PLANTS EMERGED. ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT BRIGHT PURPLE FLOWER IS???? THANK YOU FOR ANY ANSWERS

  • @sherri7547
    @sherri7547 2 года назад +1

    I have listen to a few videos and I have not heard anyone talk about the small purple flower that comes up and then fade. It only last a day and then it a dark burnt look. However, it does have a small bloom, which I was very shock to see.

      Oh wow! I've never had a bloom from mine! That's good to know though, I will definitely keep an eye out and see if I can catch a bloom.

    Im not sure why i cant help my Zebrina , the stem is weak and the leaves have curled. since the stem is limp i dont think i can prop it anymore

    • @thecontentedplant7057
      @thecontentedplant7057  2 года назад +1

      Hmm...might need to start over with a new plant if the whole stem is too weak for propagation. Is it turning brown and skinny? Mind did that at the top, but they still grew thicker and healthy near the ends of the plant. I'm about to do a big chop on mine and propagate.
