My guess to the geology question is the limestone sediments were deposited in a shallow sea that covered Southeast Asia probably 100s of millions of years ago. They were buried and eventually turned into stone. When India smacked into Asia it would have uplifted all the limestone and erosion has now shaped the landscape (yes I'm a geologist, no I haven't done research on it, this is only my guess).

Did you do the loop on a tour or by yourselves? I’ve heard people say that there’s police check points getting onto the loop fining foreigners. Any info on that?
So if u don’t know how the mountains were made, it got pressure under the earth and earthquake pushed up the the surface high and then after hundred thousand of years, it got rotten and shaped into triangle (typical shape of mountain we usually see today)
@@RyanLeeBanks the land we are standing and living in right now, of course, was made by an earthquake too (pushed the surface above the water) and also a volcano (help formed the land - like an island for example). The planet back then was full of water tho. The difference is some are lower and some are higher. Most of the lower ground in Vietnam is usually the delta created by rivers bringing dirt and forming deltas and high hills.
I did two months on an XR 150 in Vietnam , totalled 7100 km , it was an awesome trip , and made a view videos here .
Definitely something I’d love to do someday!

We did and I didn’t see any police checks at all, a lot of people ride independently from tours! I did this in December
