When he says devils on his way he is talking about how the tribulations from the Bible are coming soon and when he talks about 7 years of bad luck he is talking about how tribulations are 7 years of chaos on the earth. This is just a guess but I did find it odd how well this references revelations. I think this is a wake up call and this song was posted almost 7 years ago so the rapture and the tribulations must be close. I’m only 12 but I really thing that the end times are very near.

I remember coming out of my room at 10 at night when I was about 8. My dad was watching it in the living room and it had just started. I instantly fell in love with The Thing. I remember when my dad woke me up one morning when I was 12, telling me there was something I might want to see. When I saw it was the trailer for The Thing 2011, I lost it. They did an outstanding job of making a prequel.
This song is (possibly) a testament to the nominal nature of Stevie's Christianity. I think he has never believed a word of it, and writing this song was his way of expressing it.

I remember coming out of my room at 10 at night when I was about 8. My dad was watching it in the living room and it had just started. I instantly fell in love with The Thing. I remember when my dad woke me up one morning when I was 12, telling me there was something I might want to see. When I saw it was the trailer for The Thing 2011, I lost it. They did an outstanding job of making a prequel.
I haven't seen it but I'd love to, even if it's good or not, still gonna see it.
