I love how some parts of the benefits of both capitalism and socialism within the game are semi realistic and both have total nonsense, mostly nonsense in general I should say, really gives more potential to the game and bit less bias than some past political sims
The really small detail that I liked was how the introduction of automation rose unemployment. This actually reflects on what Marx stated that as technology increases efficiency the average person will become liberated from needing to work to survive to working as a bonus. As such, not everyone will choose to and the game reflected that. A small detail but a cool one!

If it did you'd see that the rest of the world would start implementing similar policies. The US is the key. If the US defunds the military Russia, China, North Korea would follow suit. If the US increases taxes the rest of the world will follow. Yeah, it would have big ramifications globally, but would probably be great at the local level. I mean United States is the easiest one, since no one will invade you in this game, just defund that ridiculously high military budget, then you can do anything you want.
Yeah, it would have big ramifications globally, but would probably be great at the local level. Right now the US is one of the biggest forces defending trade lanes, and we kinda use that as a way to bully certain nations into doing what we want. US withdrawing from global waters may seriously impact maritime trade safety if done before other nations could build up an adequate navy.
I am a big proponent of lowering global presence however, it is completely unnecessary legacy of the cold war.

Indeed there is - defunding severely limits your technology and number of state employees, popularity as a strong leader etc among other things, once you defund it.
