My hat is off to you for doing the job you do. My daughter is also a captain in Portland Maine and I am amazed at the responsibility that is on your shoulders. I like the State of Maine old school flag hat. My daughter will be sporting one of those next week with McAllister on the back instead of the front. As for the last post on the bottom, anyone can walk on a large ship with 20 crew or more and just drive it straight across the big wide ocean. Try a small tug wedged under a tanker connected by unforgiving lines through a bridge opening at night being piloted by people with short fuses and large personalities. Be safe and have fun.
I've had the pleasure of working with Jess for several years. Not only is she a capable and competent seaman. She is a super person and I'm happy she is going forward in the maritime industry. Smooth Sailing Jess.
I dreamt of having your job. I grew up on a small port on the Pacific Northwest coast. As a kid I could hear the tug’s engines as they cruised out to move a ship into a berth at the port. A wonderful story about an amazing woman! Well done 👍
When you look into the history of women at sea, you would understand a little more why it is such an accomplishment. You may be surprised at how recent it’s became a thing, and let alone accepted. Also, the discrimination that still goes on is very much real.. spoken from another female captain. Happy learning.

Title should be just Tugboat Captain
No
your job is my dream career
Imagine if men had to celebrate every time they do something a woman does...
Imagine if men had been not allowed or shut out of everything women did for thousands of years. Nice history fail, child.
