Bigband Lou Jones was indeed a brilliant man. He had a sense what the younger set liked as well as older people so he recorded them all. From the purple colored Brunswicks (1920-22) to the Victors of 1932-34 I never found a Jones 78 in which I didn't instantly like at least one side. Only have a couple of the Deccas. They are good but my preferences are to the older ones.
This song was used in the closing credits every week in the Tulsa, Oklahoma based show, "Mazeppa Pompazoidi's Uncanny Film Festival and Camp Meeting". It starred Gailard Sartain and included other cast members to include Gary Bussey. Loved that show and all of those ridiculous characters like R.B. "Bob" Hissey, Coach Chuck, Teddy Jackeddy and his mouth puppet, "Rooney".
These old songs are so enjoyable!
wonderful jones rendition....thanks so much.
Awesome music....

Fantastic and 5 stars. I grew up with this song.
It never turned me gay, either.
Anything Isham Jones is priceless.
Well, that's too bad, sorry to hear that. Maybe you need to try another song and you'll have better luck?
I found a copy of this around the end of 1993 (Victor 24213) and I thought how romantic to dance to. Awesome !!!
Mark Muffs Isham Jones had written and performed some of the most romantic music of the 1920s+30s.
