- In this video we get our new tyres fitted!
We’re excited to be testing out the new Radar Renegade R/T+ tyres on our Jeep Wrangler JLUR. These tyres are fairly new to the UK off-road tyre market. They are a hybrid tyre which falls in between an All-Terrain and a Mud-Terrain tyre. The Renegade R/T+ feature a unique dual sidewall design - one side has a Piston and skull design the other mud-penetrating “dagger” shaped lugs.
We chose to have the dagger shaped lugs facing outwards for our Jeep. We went for the same size as our BF Goodrich KM3s - 37” x 12.5 R17. The Radar tyres measure slightly taller than the KM3s.
We will be testing these tyres for the next few months, we will be filming a review once we form an opinion about them so keep your eyes peeled.
A little about the company:
Radar Tires strongly believe in giving back to society and have been a proud supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation since 2011 and has funded close to $1.4 million, which has fueled close to 28,000 hours of life-saving research. It recently reached its 10-year milestone of supporting BCRF.
Radar Tyres have always cared for the environment and their tyres have been manufactured carbon neutral since 2013.
They are a cool looking tyre, the same pattern is sold under the Patriot brand to. Will be interested to see how you get on with them.
Interesting to see how they perform. Not surprised if they come out a bit bigger, BFGs always seem to be a touch undersized - looking online a KM3 37/12.5/17 is actually 36.5 x 12.5.
Is it me or did this film end a bit adruptly?
Well so far they are doing quite well. Need more testing; testing is fun haha. Yeah we didn't really film an end. It's just really an introduction to the tyres though. More to come soon :)
I just fitted a set of these on my Rubicon in 35x12.5R18 for a true 35"...Love these Tires...very mild hum on the road as you know already...curious to see how they hold up on the various terrains they will see here in Texas...
Hi. Yes really quiet on the roads. We haven't had any issues off road so far. They're very capable in the mud, dirt and rocks here in the UK.
Considering to buy the R5 MT version for my Toyota Prado. Waiting like everybody else for your update video here.
We will do an update to the video when we have had the tyres on for a long enough period. We need more miles to know how they wear and if they become louder as they wear. So far, off road they are good and on road when new they are quiet. We have had some issues balancing the large 37" version, but that's not unique to these tyres at that size.
Great looking tyre! I’d be interested to see how they perform 👍
Hi Dan. So far they seem very capable, and good on road too.
6 months on, how are they performing? Would you buy them again, or stick with BFG?
It's been a year now, so you've experienced those tires a bit now. How are they? How do they compare to KM3`s?
Any plans to make a comeback to RUclips? :) Keen to copy more of your travels, it's nice to see what the lanes are like before venturing on them.
Hi Guillermo. Yes indeed! Sorry for the delay; we have very busy work lives and have to fit video making in-between. We have some new videos in the making right now 🙂
Best regards from Italy, Florence, I have looked on the internet that this is also measured in size 205-70-15. I want to buy it for my Suzuki Jimny 4x4 truck. I have looked at the radar RT MT tire card and they consider it a tire and the half between an all Terrain and a mud Terrain! How do they behave on the streets on wet and snowy pavement? What’s your opinion about tires?
So far good on and off road. Only time and miles will tell how they wear though. We have had issues balancing the large 37" tyres.
Did I just pass you on the A14 Northampton?
Haha nope, wasn't us.
@@ModifiedJeepsUK OK. Thanks.
