I was struggling to fit a very heavy kick drum in my mix recently. I tried taming via eq, compression, even with w.a. kickshaper. Even though they tamed it, but the kick did not sound good at all. I just tried subbass doctor 808 after seeing it here, as the last resort. That was the only one that tamed it without taking its soul.

Nice review. Low pass button was added later and it does not appear in the photos of their website. Good to see here that it does exist

Seems a bit expensie, especially considering something like Denise Audio's Bass XXL is cheaper and has a lot more tweakability.

Compared to Rbass, Bark of dog and Voice of God, how does it do?

Bark of dog does not do what Rbass does. Bark of dog is just a resonant low cut filter Like "Voice of god" from little labs.

I understand but don’t understand these plugins. On one hand, sure a one stop shop for 808 but like… on the other, just learn to eq and add a saturator your fave saturator of the week. Like the ease of auto eq? Well I got a magic word for you “presets”! Now you can have your auto eq AND! You have more than one magic knob you have 4 to infinity magic knobs! Seriously I hate the one knob “fixers”
