    I just finished the tutorial posted by you and the simulation was perfect; Although it can be a bit heavy for the analysis of movement, the behavior is quite real. Thanks for sharing the video and encourage to hang more in the future. Note: Improve the recording quality of the new video tutorials.

    The design object is interesting, but if what you want to do is a demonstration of skills is enough, but as a video tutorial it is very bad and confusing. The techniques must be developed in the exact sequence and not as it is becoming fashionable to do it today.
    If you want to teach, do it well, otherwise clearly indicate that it is a demonstration and save the design steps.

      The Video already starts with Links and Sprocket design (although the design steps are not there but Every feature of design are shown clearly).
      Assembly and Motion Study also starts from Beginning.
      Very soon i will upload a new video on same topic with some great detailing. Hope that will Help.

    The path of the chain is not a fixed diameter circle in real life.It is in the nature of this mechanism. I don't know if you have applied that in this assembly because it looks like the sprocket is actually driving the chain and not like each is being driven by it's own motor. although you have installed two rotating motors in the motion study.

    • @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh
      @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh  5 лет назад

      Here the Path drawn using circle,hexagons,some starlight lines are used only for two Purpose:
      1. Determining the exact number of chain links of a Particular pitch
      2. Placing each chain links at the right position before creating hinge joints and finally going to Solidworks Motion Study
      Two Motors can be avoided here by using gear mates or Belt Mates but due to some problem in that Two different motors of same RPM were used to simulate the rotation of sprocket.
      The Main Purpose was actually to simulate a real life Chain Sprocket Motion in Solidworks,that's why all these things are done.It may look a lengthy task but to simulate real life (not advance mates or path mates motor driven) these steps are necessary.

      @laurynaspeistaras7163 4 года назад +1

      @@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh In reality when only one sprocket is driving you would observe quite different view as one side of chain would be on constant tension and other would sag so this one does not simulate real life. It is quite close though

    • @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh
      @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh  4 года назад

      @@laurynaspeistaras7163 yes you are right. But since the both sprockets are of same pitch circle diameter so i decided to attach motor to both sprockets just to speed up the calculation.

    hello sir, it was really helpful but sir I am stuck at the assembly part where when I trying to do the motion study part, my chain revolves around the sprocket, can you please help for the same

    • @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh
      @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh  4 года назад

      see the Concept is :
      1. Place the Path
      2. Create a Chain pattern using the path
      3. Make Mid Plane of All Links coincident to the plane of Path
      4. Create Hinge Joints between two consecutive links by creating coicident mate using same diameter sketch
      5. Dissolve the Chain Pattern
      6. Place the Sprockets, orient it properly
      7. Then go for Motion study

    the mate between chain path & inner link is not working as the message of overdefine pops out. It says that the entity are fixed and hence the mate cannot be solved

      It seems that Inner Link is fixed. Check it(right click on the inner link) , and Make it Float and then try.

    Hello. I am having problem in simulation of chain and sproket mechanism. Can you help me in that? When I apply gear mate to sprocket and chain bush, It only moves until that bush is on sprocket. When that wrap angle is over, chain and sprocket moves with different speed. I have also tried animation without any mate in chain and sprocket. I have applied rotary motor to sprocket and linear motor to chain. But in this case also the chain moves only for first 2 seconds. After that only Sprocket rotates. Chain stays at his position.

    • @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh
      @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh  4 года назад

      To Get the Perfect Result you will have to Assemble and Apply Motion assuming Real life Conditions!
      Like;
      1. Gravity
      2. Contacts between Sprocket Teeth and Chain
      3. A Hinge Joint between Two Consecutive Chain
      4. RPM to Sprocket
      All these Steps are shown in The Above tutorial, try follow that.

    • @SolidworksFunPraveenSingh

      Actually this was a part of learning.
      I could do it using simple chain driven pattern and then animate by adjusting key frames.
      But, I wanted the actual motion study. The real time motion of chain links with sprocket moving under gravity

      Here Hinge Joints are created by coincident mate between two same diameter sketches of "inner & outer links Parts".
      Since, the hinge joints are created between adjacent sketches. Therefore, No Shortcut is there to create all at once.

      Before creating coincident mate between each circle sketch, Firstly Make Sure that Circle sketches are of equal diameter.
      if it won't be of equal diameter, while mating you will see option of Concentric mate but Not Coincident mate!
