Found your channel just by pure coincidence. Guess I have been blessed by the insta algorithm 😅. My parents are both teochew-vietnamese so I grew up only knowing how to speak teochew. I'm currently trying to learn vietnamese and your vids are really helping. Keep going, you're awesome 👌! Sending love from Germany🫶!

Just a quick question. Whats the main reason why you moved back to Saigon? I am spending thousands of dollars just to study abroad and get a citizenship in United States meanwhile people are moving back here. I cannot stand Vietnam because it's so crowded.
They don't want to work hard. I had to change my career several times. Working as meat cutter, auto mechanics, auto assembly line workers. My friend he started as cleaning up.Selling life insurance Pizza delivery and Pizza maker. Another friend started as welder, then opened a fast food Chinese restaurant. Ended up fixing houses, making good money. We help each other: fixing cars, houses..etc and save a lot of money. I don't talk about politics.I may go back to Vietnam when I retire.

You should have done all you can to get into your parent's old house to confirm. Street numbers and even street names change a lot in Saigon because of the communist take-cover and new developments. I am sure this street name remains the same, but the house numbers constantly change. The security guard said the landlord was from somewhere in the country-side or in another city. You should have contacted that landlord to allow you to check it out. Or knock on the door and see if the current tenant will allow you to see the inside. There was a Viet Kieu who went back to Vietnam to try and find her parent's old house. She found it and demanded the current owner return the house to her. As expected, the current owner didn't know what to say and thought she was crazy. They referred her to the local government office to make her claim. Her trip was all video documented. If you search, you probably can find the video. In the end, she was not able to reclaim the house.
@@longnguyendotcom she will never be able to claim that house or property. If her parents left VN before the communist took over or shortly afterwards (boat people), then the govt would've seized the property and would've given it to other people (usually their supporters). That's what I was told.

@kitty_s23456 That's the right. The thought that she thinks she can just go and reclaim was very naive on her part.
