@@DanCreaMundos I'd say the only really underwhelming games are X/Y and Sword/Shield, the rest are great. What's even wrong with the rest of the games in your eyes? Are you just one of those people that started hating Pokemon for no reason?
@@luc_theriault Sun and Moon were awesome, though. Lots of great new Pokemon, amazing music, and a cool region, story, and characters. I can see Scarlet and Violet being divisive but I personally enjoyed it (less than Gens I - V, but it's not bad), but I think S/M is objectively pretty amazing.
this channel is great. no politics, no yelling or soy faces, no clickbait, no cringe youtuber gimmicks, no barrage of youtube memes that will age badly, just a dude doing retrospectives on videogames we all grew up with and adding a bit of personal commentary here and there. keep it up Flandrew, you're a king and yt needs more of your kind.
"no politics" oh for crying out loud i'm convinced that people who complains all the time about politics are more annoying that the things they are complaining about, you all are just like parrots.
Found this channel with the harry potter games which I played from the beginning and was nice to see them get some love, and now I'm loving getting breakdowns of old games and how games technology has evolved over time by looking at a particular series and how it's evolved over time. I didn't even play some of these as they were before my time like gen 1 Pokémon, I joined in at Diamond and pearl. Suggestion for you, look into the old Disney games, toy story 2 was one of my all time favorites, there was 102 Dalmatians. Would be slightly different to your normal format but still great. Given how much I'm enjoying this, I think I can find £1 to give each month to your Patreon.
Ah, Gen 1 Pokémon. A beautiful time of simplicity. Gen 3 will always remain my best Gen, but I can't help but love the one that started it all. Would love to see you cover more Gens.
Awesome video! Pokémon Yellow was the first Pokémon game I played but not owned... That was Pokémon Silver. I'm also still a gen 2 fan nowadays, so I can't wait for your video of comparing every gen 2 Pokémon game.
Slowly becoming my favorite RUclipsr. The content seems tailor made just for me, I always wanted to see comparisons of the same game on different platforms, and you keep doing all the series I love. Keep up the spectacular work. Best gen? Gen 3, easy.
I didn't play Star Wars. I loved your Star Wars videos. I didn't play Harry Potter. I loved your Harry Potter videos. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE POKEMON CONTENT GAWDAMN
I remember the Trading Card Game being so awesome! I think that to this day it left a big impact on me and I keep enjoying so much deck building games.
It’s gonna take a hell of a lot of effort to scale the mountain of Pokemon spinoffs that have piled up over the years, but if you’re doing it then I’ll be watching it. Shoutout to the very best generation like no gen ever was, Gen V.
Excellent video! I agree, Gen 1 has that old "homely" feel to it. I always find myself revisiting these games here and there to relive old memories. Go for Gen 2!!!
Ah, nostalgia bomb. Pokemon was the second game I ever played on my original Game Boy (I think the first was MegaMan 2). Still a fan to this day. I'd love to see you cover the other generations, if only to hear your take on them.
Flandrew, I discovered your channel with the Harry Potter games videos despite never playing any of them. Now you're covering a series that I've played since 1999 and I couldn't be happier. Yeah, you should do more generations. Keep up the great work.
I was born in 93, so I was at the perfect age for Pokemon when it came out, and I have so much nostalgia for Gen 1. Me and my friends playing all of the games, watching Pokemon on TV, collecting the cards, arguing over Pikablue rumors all day, etc. There was so much Pokemon content back then probably because the series was so popular, but also very likely because, as you said, we just wanted so much more than what the Gameboy could give us. I still play the new Pokemon games, but I rarely finish them. To me, nothing will ever compare to the first two generations and how my friends and I felt experiencing them.
I remember sneaking my Gameboy to school when I was in Kindergarten, showing Pokemon and Kirby's Dreamland while my friend showed his Power Rangers game. In 4th grade, a girl wouldn't stop talking to me because I could tell her so many secrets and glitches in Red and Blue. These games were so special for good reason.
Another great video under your belt. Your inteligente insight and comedic timing on games is still running all on cylinders. I absolutely loved the joke about us trying to play Pokémon in the car at night with only street lights occasionally lighting up our screen so we could actually see what’s happening. Haven’t thought about that in years.
Not only do I love how you're comparing Pokémon now and i hope you can keep it up but also how you mentioned that most Primary Schools had to Ban anything Pokémon related, exactly what happened at my school too, now that really takes me back
I don't remember anything of this because I was born in 1996 and only had access to PC and PSP games in my childhood. But I still enjoyed your comparison very much :D
I genuinely did get Pokémon pinball under the tree from my parents instead of Pokémon yellow. I remember the deflation I experienced at that moment. All my friends already had it. It was short lived though, as it turned out my aunt had got me Pokémon Yellow anyway. I enjoyed Pokémon pinball as well, despite its difficulty. That was a good Christmas.
Of course, after Beyblade, the Star Wars prequels, Harry Potter, and even Shrek, we can't very well get off the 90s baby turn-of-the-millennium nostalgia train without covering Pokémon, can we? :P Absolutely seconding the feeling of RBY being a comfy experience even if they're objectively very janky. My big sister and I had GBCs and so did our friends, so we had plenty of fun trading and battling, but somehow we missed out on the N64 titles. We moved house when I was eight, and even by 2001 Pokémon was just such a unifying force on the playground that it made settling into a new, scary school very easy - ban or no ban. Of course, I've got similar feelings and memories surrounding Gen II and III, so if you decide to cover those I'll watch with great interest. (Especially because not enough people talk about Colosseum and XD.)
3:18 - One thing most kids never properly understood at all using a Game Boy (or Color…?) system or even its successors is the volume dial is actually a major life saver for events like these to have stopped. (Mostly…)
You missed Card GB2(Which other than a single Lugia cameo only has Gen 1 deck cards), Pokemon Play It 1 and 2, and the twin Pokemon Creative Studio Games.
I got a poster of all 150 pokemon before pokemon blue/red was released in some sort of kids magazine and it blew my mind. So once i got the game i was hooked. Very much grew out of pokemon but back in gen 1 i was all in watched the showed played the games and collected the cards.
I remember my brother and I having Red and Blue each, so we could play and complete the Dex. I believe I still have my original copy of Blue with all 151 registered on it.
You know, I realized that I've watched almost every new video you've put out but wasn't subscribed. Let's fix that. I really like how depth you go with all these different games.
i grew up playing most of these games, though i sadly had no friends to play them with, making catching them all quite an ordeal, had to own two system and both games to trade with myself, which i still have to do now, some things never change i guess
Your incredibly deep and layered analysis of the Clefairy minigame in Pokemon Stadium mirrored my own opinions exactly. I agreed with each and every word.
My personal favorite is gen 3 with Ruby being my first pokemon game I ever completed and then emerald and Leaf Green. Over the years I got back in time and played the original red I enjoyed it despite a few things that evolved in the sequels were a little hassle to the original like the slow walking pace. I never complete the Pokedex because I played on emu but when the remake of the gen 3 came out I put 350 hours into it to finish and complete the Pokedex
Wow had no idea there were new sprites between the first versions and Japanese Pokémon blue! Almost 3 decades later and somehow I’m still learning new things.

You did forget the sequel to the TCG. It’s pretty good, based around what is essentially Team Rocket coming and taking over and then you go and fight them in their land, Sort of like gen 2 main games, you get two whole regions.
When it comes to mainline entries, I didn't play gen 1 until the early 2010s or late 2000s. I had found a copy of Blue at a flea market for dirt cheap only to find out when I got home the reason it was so cheap was cause the internal battery died. I didn't know how to replace it and neither did my parents, so I'd just see how far I could get before I'd have to turn the system off. So I didn't experience all of Kanto until the Let's Go games released. I did have Stadium and Hey You Pikachu as a kid. I couldn't play Hey You Pikachu much cause I didn't have the mic (probably another used game thing), but Stadium was my jam as a small child. Although I did spend a lot of time wishing I had gotten Stadium 2 as that was the gen I started with.
Awesome video! I was expecting it to be a comparison of gen1 across it's different releases in a different way: Red/bule/yellow vs FireRed/LeafGreen vs Let's go Pikachu/Eevee. Maybe even VS Kanto region from Gold/Silver/Crystal and HeartGold/SoulSilver as well.

what the hell does it have to do with giving respect to viewers?
