I definitely messed up on the patriots one, I was going a different direction at first and forgot to change it, what was your most heartbreaking loss as a pats fan?
Super Bowl 42 and its not even close. But here are some honorable mentions: - 2015 AFC Championship (Broncos) - Super Bowl 52 (Eagles, absolutely incredible game but still a heartbreaking loss) - 2019 AFC Wild Card (Titans, this was the game that ended our spectacular dynasty) - 2010 AFC Divisional (Jets)
they won 6 Super Bowls, few people feel sorry for them, and known for cheating many times. Dolphins: How about one of those two Super Bowls in 3 years? Cowboys: I'd say the loss to Packers just over a year agp AT Home.
As a Pats fan, it is the only loss that matters in all of Patriots history. Well, other than losing TB12. Don’t think this guy did even a modicum of research.
As an Eagles fan, that loss at the Vet still hurts. Losing the SB hurt as well, but that loss against Tampa felt different. I vividly remember watching the game as a kid in the kitchen on a TV with my dad and just screaming "no!!" when McNabb threw that INT and holding my head.
at first I was trying to do lesser known “worst losses” then changed my mind and decided to keep that one for the patriots, I knew I was gonna get hell for it 😂🤦
You nailed it for St. Louis and this includes all the years I followed the STL Cardinals (1960-1987). As you showed, the most heartbreaking loss for the Rams while they were in St. Louis was losing the super bowl in 2001 after winning the super bowl in 1999. STL came up with a flurry of points late in the fourth quarter to tie the game. The Patriots got the ball with little time left and an unknown back-up quarteback named Tom Brady moved the Patriots in to field goal range and their kicker Vinateri nailed it. Kurt Warner was amazng again and I remember the coach being blamed for not using running back Marshall Faulk as a rusher more. Those were however the best years of St. Louis NFL football.
For the Dolphins, I'd figure the "Sea of hands" playoff game against the Raiders back in the 70s. They were going for a three-peat and lost on a miraculous shot put by Ken Stabler into the end zone right at the end of the game.
Not having the loss against Eli Manning and the Giants when they ruined their perfect season in the superbowl for the patriots feels like you’re trying to rewrite history or something lol
Agreed and there was a chance that the panthers could have won that game. The Broncos didn’t even have one penalty for about the last 2 1/2 quarters having help from the officials on top of the fact that they had a controversial challenge catch go their way which Clete Blakeman told Ron Rivera that had it been a catch. We would’ve called it as such and even with all the headhunting letting them lineup off sides and disregard defensive PI’s on Brandon Roby etc. things going the Broncos way it was still a single digit six point lead for a majority of the 4th quarter even late as well. it was closer than what people remember and most people can’t tell you that they didn’t have a penalty for about the last 37 minutes. ruclips.net/video/MC43iBqB3Yg/видео.htmlsi=LXwKqIS1_zdjcZWu
In my opinion, I feel like the 2024 AFC championship was the most heartbreaking loss for the ravens. After that game when billy cundiff missed the fg, we won next year. In the afc champs in 2024, we were terrible and was heartbreaking to lose when we're a step away from a super bowl, at our home
As a bengals fan for sure that game vs the Steelers hurt and the afc Championship game we lost to the chiefs with that stupid unnecessary roughness to put them in fg position to win the game.
Disagreements: Dolphins: 1994 Divisional @Chargers Patriots: 2007 Super Bowl v Giants Bengals: 1988 Super Bowl v 49ers Colts: 2009 Super Bowl v Saints Jaguars: 2017 AFC Champ @Patriots Broncos: 2012 Divisional v Ravens Chiefs: 2018 AFC Champ v Patriots Cowboys: 1978 Super Bowl v Steelers Eagles: 2022 Super Bowl v Chiefs 49ers: 2023 Super Bowl v Chiefs Redskins: 2012 Wildcard v Seahawks
I don't know if it's true for most fans, but for me the most heartbreaking loss for the Steelers was the 2011 wild card game vs the Broncos where Tebow threw a 80 yard td on the first play of overtime.
As a bears fan go ahead and pick almost any loss of the last 3 years. 2022 bears got robbed by the refs in half of their losses 2023 bears are tied for most blown 4th quarter double digit leads in history and 2024 bears might go down in history as the most creative choke artists to play the game
13:10. The Lin Elliot game. There is a reason why Jimmy Johnson in 1993 cut Lin Elliot after two games was because of him missing the easy field goals. In the America's Game Jimmy said that Lin said he lost his confidence, so Jimmy cut him and got Eddie Murray who was a free agent who previously played for the Lions. Eddie Murray did his job and helped Dallas to their second straight Super Bowl. Lin Elliot was big reason why the Chiefs should have been playing in the AFC Championship.
31:49 brooo you can't be wrong on one of the greatest throw/catch combos ever. Priest Holmes was out of the league the year before that Santonio Holmes catch.
The Tuck Rule game would hurt the most if the Raiders hadn't rebounded the next year. Rich Gannon had an MVP season, we made it all the way to the Super Bowl...only to get blown out. I still can't watch that game.
12:20 the funny thing is from 1996 to 1998 the Broncos only lost ONE time at home. It was that 1996 divisional game. They 1996 to 1998 Broncos were on fire and got 2 Super Bowls out of it . If they had beaten Jacksonville, they most likely go to 3 straight Super Bowls.
As a Bears fan the 2010 NFC Championship against Green Bay was the most heartbreaking loss. They were objectively a worse team and we allowed them into the playoffs by resting our starters in the last game. It came back to bite us as they made the NFCCG and beat us, and Rodgers got his only Super Bowl. The Bears haven't won a playoff game since.
For the Colts, think the SB loss vs Saints was more heartbreaking. Next year, bounced early. 2011, Manning out for the year and then he was gone. But 05 loss to Pitt did hurt pretty bad.
I think the most heartbreaaking loss for the Giants was the Miracle at the New Meadowlands on December 19, 2010. The Eagles came back in the second half and DeSean Jackson ran for a punt return touchdown to win the game. The final score was 38-31
I used to be a Broncos' fan. And I can attest...that Jacksonville loss was as bad as it gets...Up until that time, that was the greatest Bronco team ever....losing to a goddamned expansion team(that we destroyed a year later with ease)...and to top it all off...the FINAL game ever played in the classic orange jerseys....I loved those jerseys more than I loved Elway...I've never recovered(in football terms, anyway). Whoever made that decision...I'll go to my grave cursing them...
Why did I have to watch this? Watching Marlon Mcree fumble the ball back to the Patriots after making what should have been the game-sealing interception still sickens me to this day and probably will for the rest of my life.
Ravens' biggest heartbreak 1. 2010 Lee Evans dropping, Cundiff missing 2. 2023 #1seed losing at home best rushing team running only 6 times. 3. 2019 King Henry dominating the Ravens. 4. 2024 Losing to a slight underdog Bills suffering a critical game tying drop.
Bears fan and the Super Bowl loss is not saddest loss ever for us especially as the start of the game have one of greatest Bears moments ever with Kick-off return for TD. The saddest Bears moment ever is either 2010 NFC Championship Game Home Loss to bitter rivals Green Bay Packers or 2018 NFC Wild Card Double Doink to Eagles. Could even put Hail Mary at the buzzer loss to Commanders this past year.
2010 for sure. They would've lost to whoever in the Superbowl but at least you don't have Aaron having a super bowl ring. Add to the fact, it made BJ Raji a thing too
One that stands out for me is 2013 loss to Packers win & we’re in game but Conte fell asleep…Rodgers hit the bomb & that was pretty much it. I was at that game in the spaceship part of the stadium & saw that play fall apart. Brutal.
Truth told, while the loss in the NFC Championship in 1999 was painful, a WORSE loss was our loss in 2003, during a MNF game vs the Colts, who were being led by our former Head Coach, Tony Dungy. Scoring four TDs in the 4th, and a field goal that sealed it, the Bucs lost 38-35, and the Colts made one of the greatest comeback wins, after being down 28-7 before the half. The game was also being played on Coach Dungy's 48th birthday, so the win by the Colts was a hell of a birthday present for him.
Appreciate the effort put into the video. Vehemently disagree with the Patriots pick. It's easily the first Super Bowl loss against the Giants. The perfect season that wasn't. I was in middle school, I happened to be sick that weekend and missed school that Monday. All the local news sites were at locations like Dunkin, interviewing people. And the dejected look on everyone's face spoke volumes. It turns out people in droves called out of school or work, because of that loss. No other Super Bowl loss they've had in my life time had people react quite like that.
Thank you!! I told another commenter I originally wanted to do lesser known “bad/worst losses” but I changed my mind and kept the patriots one instead of changing it, but after your comment I with I did lol that’s wild that it was like a mass sadness in that area , everyone calling out and stuff, crazy!
just a quick note: Indianapolis notoriously beat the defending AFC Champion San Diego Chargers the week prior to the "Len Elliott Game," not the San Francisco 49ers as stated in the video.
That bengals loss still sticks with me to this day. Absolute collapse and EXTENDED Marvin Lewis for another 2 seasons. I lost so much faith in the franchise after that.
No, the one against the titans was worse. They losing 3 in a row to a division rival. The third one being the AFC Championship game as the #1 seed stings more.
would suggest you go back even further regarding the Chiefs...the 1971 longest game ever played is THE most crushing defeat, and I don't mind telling you I hate to mention it. The Lin Elliott game pales in comparison to my heart being pulled from my body by that game 53 years ago. It marked the end of the Stram-coached dynasty.
I disagree with multiple games you selected. As a Jets fan the one that kills me is the AFC championship loss to the Broncos in 98 had a 10-0 lead at half and didn't score another point the rest of the game.
fair. but, man, here in Indy that loss to Pittsburgh is for sure the most heartbreaking. that team should've won it all. we finally had home field advantage, a first-round bye and an NFL best 14-2 record. to loose to those Steelers in the fashion we did was crushing. felt like we'd never get there. luckily that all changed just a year later.
The Seahawks Super Bowl 49 loss where Russ threw the interception… it wasn’t unknown reasons that he threw it. Pete Carroll wanted Russ to get Super Bowl MVP instead of beastmode so he called a pass instead of just running it in.
That game shouldn't haunt you. It was an embarrassing loss, but it meant nothing. We were a bad team that year and it's not as though that game kept us from making the playoffs or something. I have to imagine you weren't a fan back in 2006, because any Chargers fan who was around back then is still haunted by that playoff loss to the Patriots. That one will continue to sicken me for the rest of my life.
13:59 remember when the Chiefs then had an absurd like 27 pt lead or something ALSO on the Colts in 2014 or sum around then just to lose. Ig the Chiefs kryptonite are the Colts in the playoffs. No wonder their having so much success now since the Colts can’t reach the playoffs lol
@@CelebrityGamerTV yeah no diss taken bro, at first I wanted to do a lesser known “bad loss” video and the patriots were the first team I recorded , and once I changed it to most heartbreaking losses I kept the patriots one as is for some reason , but 18-1 is definitely the most heartbreaking for sure !
i'm assuming one of these two: 1. the loss to Miami on MNF in the 1985 season, or 2. the loss to Green Bay in the 2013 regular season finale, otherwise known as "4th & 8"
For me it will likely always be Super Bowl 18 against the Raiders. Washington was so dominant that year and won multiple classics, but they got to the big game and laid an enormous egg. This loss is why the Gibbs teams are still underrated by almost everyone.
I definitely messed up on the patriots one, I was going a different direction at first and forgot to change it, what was your most heartbreaking loss as a pats fan?

Super Bowl XLII
It has to be losing to the Giants after going undrafted all season
Patriots' most heartbreaking should be the loss to the Giants after the perfect season, IMO.
Yeah this whole video is invalid now. EVERYONE knows that
And the other loss to the Giants in the Super Bowl
As a Pats fan, it is the only loss that matters in all of Patriots history. Well, other than losing TB12. Don’t think this guy did even a modicum of research.
The Brady kller Eli Manning
I agree - I watched just to make sure he had the Eagles right and he did - last game at the vet 2002 was the worst pain I ever felt as a sports fan
All these years later in random comment sections you still see "seahawks should have ran the ball"

I just knew my packers game was going to be that playoff game with the seahawks. It was the first game that came to mind when i saw the video title.
I fully believe if Vinatieri didn’t make that kick, the Rams would still be in St. Louis
Did it just feel like a time for a fresh start after that? Or was there more to it?
They should never have left LA in the first place, in their rightful home and won a Super Bowl there also

In my opinion the broncos vs ravens In 2013 is the most heartbreaking loss
Ravens most heartbreaking loss should be last season in the AFC Championship game 💔
this list BLOWS 😹😹
Ravens wasn't Cundiff fault. Harbaugh's for not calling a timeout.
Spot on with the Eagles. That 2002 NFC Title Game loss was devastating
Ravens' biggest heartbreak
1. 2010 Lee Evans dropping, Cundiff missing
2. 2023 #1seed losing at home best rushing team running only 6 times.
3. 2019 King Henry dominating the Ravens.
4. 2024 Losing to a slight underdog Bills suffering a critical game tying drop.

The Seahawks Super Bowl 49 loss where Russ threw the interception… it wasn’t unknown reasons that he threw it. Pete Carroll wanted Russ to get Super Bowl MVP instead of beastmode so he called a pass instead of just running it in.
Wow , I didn’t know that, that’s crazy
I'm a chargers fan, and the game that haunts me is 63-21, or just any game from the Brandon Staley era
This video is so underrated
@@DaVictonator I appreciate that!
Dez definitely caught it too
As a Packers fan that Seahawks game is by far the worst. All they had to do was get the onside kick and we could’ve had a Brady vs Rodgers Super Bowl
5:44 wait I thought it was supposed to be one loss not two
nah detroit loss vs commanders has to be their worst loss.
Although right on the actual year, you should call the 2011 playoffs the 2011 playoffs. Not the 2012. Good video
17:36 objectively not a catch with the rules, don’t hate the refs hate the game
Redskins choice = 2024 NFC Championship game
Wide right was tough for the Bills but 13 seconds is pretty close.
The Niners should be losing to the Chiefs when they had a lead going into the fourth quarter.
Bears has to be the Double Doink
Dan Campbell was not the reason we lost the nfc championship
New England’s most heart breaking loss should be Super Bowl 42
@@CelebrityGamerTV I know I made a mistake with that one, wish I could change it lol
@@Realm1000lol Im not dissing you. I was just surprised SB 42 is not used for the Patriots
The Bears worst loss was not the super bowl. Their fans know which game it was.
i'm assuming one of these two: 1. the loss to Miami on MNF in the 1985 season, or 2. the loss to Green Bay in the 2013 regular season finale, otherwise known as "4th & 8"
@nickcummer I was thinking 2011 NFC championship but maybe I'm wrong. Or it was so traumatic you guys forgot it
no no, that’s definitely the choice. indeed i did forget about it. that B.J. Raji TD is the most ugly part of it all. thanks for the reminder…haha
Steelers one should be Super Bowl 30 because they should have won that game if it wasn’t for Neil O’Donnell throwing the game
Dan Snyder was worse than any Redskins' loss
Bengals is for sure the Super Bowl against the 49ers
You said Priest Holmes but he played for the Chiefs. Santonio Holmes caught the pass from Big Ben to win Super Bowl 43 against the Cardinals 👌
@@mitchellguthrie6383 ah your right, didn’t even notice I did that, good catch !
@ yessirrrr. Nice vid btw ✌️
@@mitchellguthrie6383 thanks man! , more to come 🙌🏼
36:33 disagree as a Commanders/Redskins fan it was the loss to the giants at the end of the 2016 season.
For me it will likely always be Super Bowl 18 against the Raiders. Washington was so dominant that year and won multiple classics, but they got to the big game and laid an enormous egg. This loss is why the Gibbs teams are still underrated by almost everyone.
