Thoughts: This one is my favorite and also my favorite on the album. Pedro Bromfman did an excellent job on these. I do like they continued with the "Change music atmosphere based on the current scenario" type of deal just like Payback, Most wanted and, 2015. My only real problem with these though is that the loops are short and can be a little out of sync. An average loop for these soundtrack is like 1:15-2:30 long before they loop from the beginning, and sometimes, some instruments either come in late or early. However, Pedro beat Joseph in terms of adding stuff to fit the atmosphere. Remember in Payback, Joseph only added Violins when the cops got close to you. Pedro channeled his inner Paul Linford and added more percussion and more effects when they got closer. That's the type of stuff I like. However one thing Joseph did better than Pedro (imo) is his choice of instruments. Pedro chose to do action beats like Vanessa Lorena, but I actually prefer The MW, Payback type of orchestral soundtrack. I'm not saying that Vanessa or Pedro did a terrible job, I just think that orchestrated theme can be a little more epic. But then again, its a cop chase, not a final battle against a dragon or a God. Although the game focuses on the whole "Racers vs Cops" thing just like Hot pursuit and rivals, it was kind of a missed opportunity to not add the orchestral things. Vanessa and Marios did the right thing with Hot pursuit. Final verdict: 8/10 for all the pursuit soundtracks. Pedro did amazing but u feel like he could've done better. Also: Sorry for my long ass rant/review whatever you want to call it. I'm not a weeb trust me😂😂. I love music and things like this gets me passionate about it
Dude, no need to apologize. This is the kind of comments I love reading. Going in-depth and full on details, very well constructed criticism. And I agree with you on basically everything.
I love reading this, you just spoke out of my soul! You are someone who definetely has a feeling for fitting dramatic music and it's use in certain situations. You can define it which only very few can do!^^
Well said, Bromfman really nailed the "night hunter" intensity of night police chase themes for this game. Racing for Glory and Night Pursuit - two best themes since Most Wanted 05.
bro vanessa absolutely fucking cooked on hot pursuit AND rivals, the menu songs and the chase themes. the mw 2012 soundtrack barely had anything composed for the game itself but vanessa did a good job with what was added. if you look at the most wanted 2 beta and listen to the main menu track, it brings some nice chills
I love the fact that he designed it so the closer your threat gets, the more intense it becomes, like in Dead by Daylight for example. I can't even explain how much I enjoy listening to dramatic and epic soundtracks like these. Music just makes it more tense, more exciting and thrilling. Especially the sound if reinforcements join the battle: It sounds dangerous, jibberish and somewhat lingering, like they won't stop sending troops. These sounds remind me a lot of a snake who plays with it's prey. And then, there are the violins which give the soundtrack a more thrilling and intense feeling as they come closer and closer, especially the brass used for the Rhino encounters makes you realize that you have now officially fucked up and they'll do anything to stop you. Great
sometimes it triggers from completing a speed trap, cued by the dispatch requesting a search of the area where the speed trap was (and pray to god that the game does not spawn a corvette interceptor on top of you)
I play this game a lot so I know at some point in the future, I’m gonna be driving to work and this song’s gonna start playing and I’m gonna freak out and speed up 💀
I so wish that other need for speed’s could change pursuit themes Cause nothing would be like me driving a bad car with a Dodge Charger on me in the 2015 and hearing that reinforcements at heat level 5
throw in the professional cop chatter like nfs mw and the chasing experience wouldve been up there with MW for me. But it had to sound "thuggish" despite me knowing ITS supposed to sound like that =/
Not so sure but according to someone and from what i have theories the chatter supposed to represent the lack of professionalism and competence of the HSTF (aka Night cops) as these are pretty corrupt and aggressive towards any street racer they’ll encounter. Also as i heard more of the music here i noticed some of it resembles the ost from Rivals. Which lets you get a mind that these cops are gonna be probably almost as aggressive as them and that they’re not f*cking around, at least not anymore. The fact that you also have only like 3 or 4 uses on the gas stations to repair a car also lets you know that probably with the night cops you are supposed to run from them as quickly as possible and possibly overall avoid them. Kinda like NFS 2015 cops (except the cops there were lame because EA doesn’t give their studios enough time for improvement). Its all at your own risk.
That's the small little detail I like about this game. The daytime have the more serious officers, and night time have the more corrupt and cocky officers. I also believe that they have more professionalism in day time not just cause of them being more professionalism. But I also have a theory that the cops in the daytime knows you are listening in their chatter, so they use codes a lot more frequently to confuse the racer listening, and make it where they don't know what they're talking about or calling in.
@@L30GH05TDUD3ea never gives their studios time for improvement, mw 2005 actually went against ea’s wishes and blackbox was almost binned until ea realized how liked it was. and in 2011, criterion was cooking up most wanted 2 when that got scrapped too, such a fuckin shame really because it already had creative pursuit breakers that not even the og mw had, and had speedbreakers, thermal cameras, and spike strips, as well as tear gas and car bombs. a masterpiece ruined by the cretins at ea
@@NovaAbstract The stingers had their volume considerably toned down later on in the games life cycle. From what I know, this only applies to the night pursuit themes. Listen to 6:47. No wonder PCPD HSTF claims they own the night, they do own the night with this theme.
Them reinforcement sounds are so exhilarating, the pursuit tracks in this game are brilliant, you really feel like you’re been hunted down by the 12.
