A good honest no nonsense review by normal people. Well done guys.
Thank you Fred, it’s great to hear you enjoyed it - this is our aim, and it’s good to hear it comes across. *B
Can't believe the puma beat this for whatcar of the year. The kamiq is much better for practicality and space.
It’s a great, practical and versatile compact SUV that’s for certain, thank you Joe
I'm going to be leasing a SE L 1.0 AUTO.. thank you for a great review
That’s great news and thank you Rabia, good to hear the review helped you. *B
I have seen other reviews where they said that the ride is not that great however the kamiq is ideal and practical for a growing family.. I know the interior isn't flashy as a Peugeot or ford 😂 and I'm not in my 20s
The thing about other reviews is they compare things like an X5 to a Kamiq etc 😆 Skoda offer reliable well built motors, enjoy it.
The more powerful 115 PS version is anticipated to be the bigger seller in the UK, but for anyone who is considering the lesser 95 PS version in this review (which I have), I can vouch that there is no great compromise on the road, it offers up a decent turn of speed right up to and including motorways. My overall experience so far matches the review, I can't help but wonder if an unintended consequence for Skoda will be that it steals sales from the Scala.
Great to know we hit the nail on the head, thank you Bob, as for the Scala yes we think your onto something with that.
Great review. I loved the editing too, very snappy. Lovely car too :)
Thank you, Matt - glad you liked the new editing style! 👍
funny couple to see. finally some average blokes not trying to show off , doing slick like the other car youtubers
Ta…I think, since this video Michael left - it’s now just Ben with Annabelle for road trips
Beautiful review. Very good car.
Thank you.
Glad you liked it, Meir! 😎
Thanks for reviewing the lower powered version. All reviews I have seen are with the 115hp engine and I honestly believe it's not needed as 95hp with a turbo for such a light weighed car, it is not relevant not even in motorways.
You’re very welcome ☺️ we found it great across the board Franco
like both of you and the review
Thank you, Yazed - really glad you like what we do 👍
Felicidades por ese fantastico coche. Después de todo éste tiempo con vuestro coche al conducir habeis notado crujidos o ruidos extraños en salpicadero o habitaculo, gracias y buen trabajo
Another press car that ticks the boxes and drives well and looks pretty good too, thank you Pereamadeus
nice honest review
Glad you liked it! 😎 *A
What a great review. What would you expect from the 115 engine as I believe you were in the 95?
Thank you, hmm in economy or Performance Mark? on a motorway it’s refined very little noise feels smooth and has decent power.
Great Video Review As Well. In the Spring the New Kamiq Monte Carlo will be In Showrooms
Thank you Jamie for the great feedback and yes very true we’ve just heard this, we just need a vRS now.
Good review and good car. What is the color of the demonstrated Kamiq? Candy White or metallic? Thank you.
It’s Moon white metallic and thank you 😊
hi guys watched your video on the skoda kamiq. guess what the kia was ordered in feb 22 and no build date in 2022 so cancelled it and ordered a skoda kamiq 1.5 in graphite grey. hopefully this will arrive in the 12 week scale was told but time will see. hope both well
It’s a very strange time for manufacturers, hopefully it comes sooner rather than later, thank you Andrew and keep us posted
@@PlanetautoUK hi guys hope both well as can be , further to our chat on my skoda kamiq the 12 weeks was a questimate so hopefully be some time in dec as not due for build of last week in oct begining nov so hopefully soon take care guys x
Here’s hoping - we suspect it’ll be like this for sometime - keep us posted, thank you Andrew
will you be reviewing
the new bmw m3/m4?
That’s the aim, however not everything is as easy as it once was, thank you
What about motorway driving?
Replied above
Blimey Ben you nearly scared the poor girl to death!..Peppy!
She’s used to it, the bond is strong😆 she was my co driver in the Valver down the backroads, for the last 10 years.
Would you say you'd need to add the option of different driving modes or is the 1litre engine good enough without it?
Dependent on model and region, there are driving modes. Thank you, Natee. *A
@@PlanetautoUK did you feel like the 1.0l was powerful enough with out it I meant
Yes, it’s amazing how many times we drive in Eco and offers decent power, this straight out of the box this impressed - best bet have a test drive Nateee if you get chance.
@@PlanetautoUK awesome thank you!
You’re welcome Nateee, keep us posted on what you think 😀
Which model is this as I thought the virtual Cockpit was only available on the SE L and Monte Carlo. The SE L has silver trim around the windows and silver roof bars so I'm curious which model this is? thanks
This is the SE 1L TSI 5G Manual with various added options according to our Skoda press sheet. Quite often the models we get have a more advanced setup or something a none uk car would get, especially if it’s pre production. Hope this helps Paul
@@PlanetautoUK Thanks, Yes this helps a lot. Thanks also for your review. It really helps to understand what the car would be like to live with
You’re very welcome, if you need anything else shout *BQ
2:58 Pardon me for asking but what is your height? 2 Meter? The car is looking pretty small next to you...
Hi Alexander! Ben is just under 2 meters 😎
@ planet auto team… I wonder if it would be worthwhile to do a comparison between the Suzuki Vitara and the Skoda Kamiq…. The vitara for me has all the performance pat down and the kamiq, the comfort and ergonomics. What would one choose given these two varied strengths… asking as I am confused. Love the vitara for its performance and allgrip.. the kamiq for everything else. Thank you… :)
Thank you Vikram, we’ll see if that’s possible
Greetings from Germany....I will get my Kamiq in march 23.....but the car cost 22.000Euro Euro in the basic version....in the meantime...😮.........stay save best wishes from cousins....opposite the channel....🇬🇧🇩🇪💘
Thank you for your kind wishes, N Die! What colour did you choose for your Kamiq? *A
@@PlanetautoUK I chose white.....and in may I travel to England \Kent as every year.......I love people and country...like many germans...
Very cool, enjoy your adventures and thank you N Die
Drivers seat could be higher,it's not as high as say the T cross or Renault Captu
Nice car but the seating too low for my elderly parents (rear seats).
Thank you James, that’s interesting, have you tried it out? It has 37mm more clearance than the Scala, it was fine for Annabelle to get into too with her mobility challenges.
Planet Auto yeh I took a test drive before Christmas. When getting into the rear seats you have to sit further down unlike the Karoq and my current car a Suzuki Vitara you just slide in with no effort.
Ah ok, that makes sense, thank you
@@jamesinbradford5882 I wonder, if given the choice… which would you prefer… the skoda kamiq or the Suzuki vitara?
@@vikramputtanna3333 The Kamiq is a great car but not suitable for me. The rear seats are too low, before I bought my Vitara 3 years ago I tested several cars and only the Vitara was suitable for my parents to get in and out ok. The Vitara is great to drive and looks good.
unfortunately Skoda still use old fashion technology Xenon lights and these lights make too much condensation. I got my new Kamiq and I am very very disappointed about that. Company says this is normal, but I was not informed before I buy the car. So your new Kamiq will not always look so nice as in the showroom, but depending the weather, the lights will be foggy.
Thank you for the heads up, it’ll likely depend on the weather too.
