In 1962 I drove a 1958 model B61 hauling New Holland farm machinery from Pennsylvania to Ontario Canada. Beautiful restoration.
Beautiful truck and great to see it preserved. If it did have a Detroit you wouldn't need the radio. I drove a 61 International wrecker in the 70's no power steering or brakes. They had no cup holders because you had to drive them.
Nice truck and a nice story with it well done!
What a beautiful truck!
That's ART my friend! Inside and out!
Nice Mack, an awesome story 👌
What an amazing survivor! Having driven during several of my work years, I had occasion to drive a B model once ... .our tractors were all out or being serviced, and we received a last minute call from the company we serviced, to haul an over-size dragline part from Cleveland, OH back to the plant in Marion, OH. we rented a B model from a local fleet owner who used only Mack's. The one I drive was equipped with the straight Mack (5 spd I believe) .... Great old tractor, and I ioved the opportunity to drive one.
Absolutely stunning restoration on this one! Kudos to you!
The Gold Bulldog was started with and for the Maxidyn engine as far as I know. Going by noise that was made about it at the time, I am very much inclined to think that is fact.
The first vehicle I ever drove was an old B model. 14 years old in '62.
Looks just like my Dads old red ‘58 Mack B61 with black fenders, but his had a fixed tag axle with a 673-180hp and a Quadraplex 5x4 transmission.
That is the most gorgeous old school rig, that I have ever seen. Your Buddy Pete Bocarossa and this guy, I bet would hit it off real well.
Beautiful truck
Superr video 😊
To true up the wheels up slightly loosen the lug nuts place a small block side the tire and rotate. Were the tires hit the block tighten the lug at that spot continue to rotate snugging up the lugs as you rotate the wheel until it rotates true then tighten lugs in a star pattern checking for truneness as you go
Great truck and great story. Can you do more of these with really old trucks from the 40s, 50s and early 60s? I'd like to see a White 3000 done up just like this one since my father maintained a fleet of them in the 1950s and drove a White 3000 stake truck from the mid 1960s through the early 1980s.
Hard work pays!
It's no Volvo but I Love it !!
Trucks had style back then 👍
A painted bulldog and thermodyne side plates? Very nice truck though.
Nice truck,!! Wrong color Dog that's a maxidine dog😮
Mack still makes trucks with their own parts
My dad had U-model Macks. That's what I learned to drive on. No A/C no power steering, no radio. He owned an Amusement company so we did 50% bob tailing. With a single axle that was back pain even with a spring seat. Looking back I would't have traded it for the world.
😎 Cool 😎 machine 😎👍
Gold bulldog came only with the maxidyne that guy’s wrong the maxidyne didn’t come to be until the R/U model was already out and I’m pretty sure they didn’t have maxi brakes back then, I never saw them till late 60s
😂😂😂😂 putting on a tire to a spoke wheel is easy as hell!
is this the model with 16 forward and 5 reverse gears? my older brother in the late 60s used to drive one for a tow company in Great Britain.
Iooked like a duplex the guy said hi/lo so that’s a duplex
I love a Mack with a Cummins.
That is so nice 👍✊🇺🇸wow

The guys in the background could have held up their grinding and cutting long enough to get through the interview
Can't hear.
The steering wheel may have been bakealite
To bad I'm hearing impaired and with all the noise in the background I could not understand a word he said. Can you guys at least turn CC on for us guys that can't hear when grinders are running?
Turn on the closed captions
The interior green is too dark and that steering wheel is a sin 🤢
It would have been great to hear him talk instead of the fucking drill
😂😂😂😂 putting on a tire to a spoke wheel is easy as hell! I’d rather drive this with the twin stick than the new auto crap on the road. I hate new trucks.
Nothing more annoying than back ground noise ruining a great showing
Maybe next time, do a voiceover when its more quiet
