Date Koji has such an appealing & expressive speaking voice developed for Choutarou, it works so well for the character. It's a bit higher, softer and smoother than his real voice which is quite slurred and rough (maybe from smoking?). He seems to really like and sympathise with Ohtori as a character, too, if what he says at around 1:20 was a true indication of his feelings..
He played the character the best of any cast, and seemed like he really enjoyed himself working on Tenimyu (especially where he's laughing and joking and crying over everybody in these backstages). That's why, when watching these BTS videos back, I don't understand why he ever gave those interviews where he said he hated doing it so much. He made a couple of sarcastic complaining comments in this DVD but was clearly joking. After all this time, it's still confusing.
