Seth rogen saying how tommy wasn’t surprised by his success at the premiere makes me think that he’s from the future and he’s so rich from all of his the room earnings that he traveled back in time to create the room in order to finance himself in the future so he’s able to actually go back in time to make the room. And that’s why tommy talk so funny, because he trapped in time vortex. And maybe he vampire, we see
The magic for me is Tommy's raw desire to do what he wanted to do. All of us are born with it but we lose it when we think we're getting "wiser". To see that innocent belief of something in a grown up is just incredibly precious.
@@BrokenGodEnt He also did a surprisingly pretty good Steve Wozniak. He knows he's limited as an actor, we all know too. Yet he can do stuff beyond being himself, I guess :)
Tommy Wiseau, like the Emperor Norton, is just one of those wonderfully unique people who are simply unsinkable. You can't keep them down, they aren't afraid of rejection and they have astonishing amounts of sheer nerve and confidence.
I love the bit where Johnny goes into the flower shop and the Shop Lady was like "Hi Johnny, I did not recognise you" and Seth was like "How do you not recognise that guy!?" funny movie.
So stupid how everyone talks down on Tommy. Tommy got to where he is by pursuing a dream and laying all the chips on the table; doing it all himself. Like Seth said: directing, producing, starring, and funding. When I would be willing to bet 90% of well-known actors out there today got to where they are because they just happened to know somebody. If there's any actor I would want to model my personal character after, it would be Tommy hands down.
His persistence is to be admired. In a way its kindof relieving to see an 'odd duck' live out his dream of becoming a movie star. Being that there are probably so many (although maybe not quite as weird) odd ducks out there just being miserable and unfulfilled. I also bet he got his money through A- an inheritance or B- a lottery win
I think Tommy Wiseau is genuinely one of the most inspiring people that anybody with a dream could want to emulate. Listen to his interviews and his philosophy on life and you see that it's all about making the most of your life, being a good person, and being authentic to yourself - and it's not just lip service, he's totally genuine. A lot of people don't realize this, but he was apparently in a very serious car accident (after the point where he spent many years running successful businesses) and it caused him to reprioritize his life to what really mattered to him. He wanted to make his dream happen, without compromising on his vision or trying to be anybody but himself, and he did. Look at the fact that he doesn't drink alcohol and has like a 9% bodyfat percentage - those are just byproducts of somebody who truly believes in grabbing every day by the horns and never compromising on what's truly matters in their own heart.

Listen to Terri Gross interviewing James Franco about this movie. Franco uses Tommy Wiseau's accent throughout, which makes it more fun to listen to. Franco obviously likes Tommy, too, and does not make fun of him for being a weirdo. Which he is.
