It doesn't matter now, because Pakistan did it differently from Palestine - , instead of "all or nothing" holy war, it took hold of however small part of the land, but with such a grip that India cannot challenge it. Now, Pakistan has borders secured, state machinery up and running, able military with nuclear fist to top it.
The problem of Palestine is that it/its neighbours tried to bruteforce the problem of injustice done to them. If only they could "secure the perimeter" first, that is establish central authority, standing army, even try to get nuclear weapons on their small half of land - they would arrive at present time with good muscle to back it up. Instead, they have nothing but weak neighbor states and outright terrorist groups - both unable to threat the existance of state of Israel.
What I would call it - wrong steps in right direction.
When everything is crumbling, aim for smaller piece - easier to defend.
Approve of Mr. Rashid's position on caution with immediate action - muslims are not japanese to die with honour, but without results.
Disapprove of his calling HAMAS a legal issue - its terrorism, just like Israel's actions in Gaza are terrorism - no matter what courts, conventions or scholars say about it.
P. S. For one thing, HAMAS is just irresponsible - what did they expect from Israel in Gaza, after they challenged it? Mercy and honour? Western armies don't have them.
